Less Asian

lucy liu[Blind Gossip] This dark-haired actress can’t carry a major film on her own, but she does get plenty of work in both TV and film. She also gets plenty of work done to her face and body. Of course she is denying it. However, an insider tells us the impetus for her latest round of plastic work.

She wanted to look less Asian, more European. When we have “full Asian” patients who want to look more Euro, it usually requires drastic changes to cheeks, eyes, and brows (but mostly the eyes).

I won’t get into the details, but we could open up the eye with double-eyelid surgery and/or upper blepharoplasty, and/or change the corner tilt, and/or lift the brow to give the eyes a less narrow look, etc. Some of these things require surgery. Some effects can be achieved with Botox.

[Actress] only had small changes to her eyes but together with the cheeks and brow work she achieves the “Euro effect.” I can’t comment on whether it was a good choice for her. I personally prefer a more natural cheek. However, it’s her face and she achieved the desired effect. She thinks that her new look is more mainstream and is going to get her more work and bigger roles. We hope she gets what she wants.

    She posted a side-by-side, and her eyes do look slightly different, but she still looks like herself. Perhaps a little more, “soft?” Whatever the case, it isn’t drastic and it is her life. If she wants to talk about it fine, if she wants to fabricate a story, well, it is her face. There are far worse things going on in the world than a woman tweaking her facial features and then denying it!

    The plastic look actually makes these celebrities look older than wrinkles do. She looks like she’s trying to look like a *. A pity b/c she was quite beautiful & unique when she first came on the scene many years ago. Now she just looks like every other fake * w/a $ out there. And she’s saying its potatoes. Carbs & starch totally thin you out… Right. Thought she was supposed to be *smart*?? And HA she’s no Rourke. She’s a 36 year old sitcom actress- I don’t see her star rising…

    If it’s Olivia Munn, then why take a role that requires an Asian look as the X-Men’s Psylocke, and talk about spinning off into her own side-movies? Especially when said character infamously went from Anglo model to Asian ninja! LOL

    Self hate is a helluva drug!
    I’m not sure who this is but I’m not so sure it’s Oliva Munn (she is Chinese and English, Scottish, and German). The blind seems to suggest that this person may be “full” Asian (When we have “full Asian” patients who want to look more Euro…) Idk though I’d be interested to see who this is.

      I dunno…I guess I’m more interested in ability than appearance. She’s a good actress, just like Micky rourke is a good actor.

      What if a pretty, talented rom com actress got in a car accident that ravaged her face…would viewers just turn their back on her? Maybe.

    I thought she looked quite a bit different, and I take offense when Olivia claimed she “lost weight” and is “shaping her eyebrows differently” instead of just admitting to surgery.

    definitely munn.. shame as she looked younger and better before.
    i know she suffers from ocd and bdd (she pulls her eyelashes and other hair out) so maybe its her way of coping and making her feel better, within her own control?

    Olivia Munn. I wondered what happened to her face since she’s fairly young. I came across her photo recently and if her name wasn’t next to it, I never would have known it was her. She’s barely recognizable now which is a shame. She was beautiful before her surgery and now she looks like a bland model.

    Olivia Munn. I don’t think she looks very different, so no comment. But I agree that there is a lot of bias towards white people in the industry, so this vice isn’t wrong that looking more white is likely to get her more roles. It’s a real bummer.

    Olivia Munn and her stupid potato secret. She doesn’t look better. She looks like she had work done. Natural is always better, but especially now. In fact I think the only way to stand out in Hollywood is to NOT get surgery or only subtle work that no one notices.

    She claims that the change in her face is due to “japanese potatoes”.

    It saddens me that she felt the need to change her face to get more roles, but knowing hollywood this desire unfortunately was not unfounded.

      You can always tell who’s lying by how descriptive the excuse is. She went IN on how her weight loss ‘slimmed out her cheekbones’ and reshaped her jawline. Lol, k.
