[TVLine] Bones won’t be the only show doing the time warp this fall. Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that another hourlong hit with a crazy-rabid, er, passionate fan base will jump forward in time — but there’s a twist.
Unlike Bones, which is implementing a six-month bounce between Seasons 6 and 7, the show in question will pick up right where last May’s season-ending cliffhanger left off… and then flash forward at some point during the episode.
The insider wouldn’t reveal the exact magnitude of the time jump, except to say that it will be somewhere between three and 18 months. The source adds, somewhat cryptically, that, “Things are very different when the action picks up. A lot happens during that [skipped] time.”
SOLVED!
It’s Dexter! Source: BG
According to TheDailyBlam:
During a recent interview, Dexter executive producer Sara Colleton revealed new details about the show’s highly anticipated sixth season; beginning with the time frame it takes place in: “We thought a clean start to this season would be to jump ahead a year, so he’s not getting over Lumen [Julia Stiles], and he’s not still in the throes of dealing with the Rita [Julie Benz] thing. We wanted to jump ahead a year and find that Dexter has gotten his groove back. He’s gotten over Rita and Lumen. When we open up Season 6, we find Dexter in a very positive place in his life. It’s like the Dexter we know and love is back, and he still wants to play.”
Though returning to a more “liberated” Dexter is a major element of the new season, the character will have to atone for occurrences that have taken place between the two seasons: “There are things in life that Dexter’s dealing with and one of them is that Harrison is now 2 years old and he has to go to school. There are things that he has to start thinking about with his son, and he’s been keenly aware of what it is that he doesn’t want to pass on to Harrison, namely his Dark Passenger, but Dexter has no idea what it is that he does want to pass on.”
Dexter stars Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Vélez, David Zayas, and James Remar with recurring season six appearances confirmed for Colin Hanks, Mos, Molly Parker, Billy Brown and Edward James Olmos. The series is scheduled to return to Showtime this Fall.
