donuts 5[Blind Gossip] This singer performed at last night’s Billboard Music Awards. While we will leave the quality of their performance to the critics, we were disturbed at what we heard was going on backstage.

As usual, it was chaotic backstage. Right before they went out, all the talent was getting themselves psyched up or calmed down with some deep breathing exercises or stretching or doing mini run-throughs of their choreography. In other words, they were all doing something.

[Singer] was just standing there doing nothing. Not talking, not looking at anyone, not moving, not responding to anyone. Nothing. Eyes half closed, mouth hanging open, just completely dull and glazed over and waiting to get pushed onto the stage and go through the motions. I didn’t see any drugs, but it was obvious that something was seriously wrong.

    “Donuts” and “glazed” made me think of AG, but that performance was the first time I did not hate her: she didn’t pump the mic like usual; she didn’t dress like a tweenager in * clothes; she didn’t fake-sexy dance and I could mostly make out the words! So maybe it is Britney, whose performance was sad. Brit was known for her love of junk food.

    I’m sure it’s her medication, but also sure it’s not all the time. I am not mentally ill, but I get anxiety attacks. I will take some (prescribed by my doc) pills before being in a stressful situation. I imagine, her show in Vegas is less stressful because people are there for her whereas this was a more general audience and may have changed her meds to get through it.

    I wish people would stop blaming her dad, like he forces her to perform for money. The man had a job and a life before Britney melted down, and he stepped in and rescued her. I think she always wanted, and still wants, to be an entertainer. When you think about it, she’s made enough money for several lifetimes, and wouldn’t it be easier on everyone if she just wanted to quit and move home.     We all know why she performs like that and I think we accept and love her anyway.

    For those saying she wants to get away, I think she likes dancing and working and performing. I just don’t think she likes the pressure. Whenever they release video of her in the studio with just her dancers and no audience, she’s great.

    I’m with everyone else thinking the donuts are leading to Ariana Grande but her glazed appearance has been her go to look since her Disney days. I’m thinking its Joe Jonas with whatever his band’s name is. I saw them perform on another show and he appeared to be within moments of nodding and I’ve read similar observances about the BBMA performance. Truth be told I didn’t watch any of the awards though! 🙂

    I really believe it’s Justin Bieber. He didn’t dance as much as he usually does, he didn’t seem like he was very happy performing. He even went on to Instagram to rant about how he always feels like he’s being analyzed when he performs. I heard he wants to cancel his tour but that’s just a rumor. I really feel bad for Justin, it seems like he’s been very depressed and anxious lately and just wishes he wasn’t famous. He even stated how he feels like he’s treated more like a zoo animal…

    I didn’t watch, but I’m betting it’s Justin Bieber.. he just did a show in Montreal and I was told that he seemed to just be going through the motions.. like he was hungover/depressed and didn’t want to be there

    Guessing the donut references are because he was snapped by paparazzi holding a bag of Tim Horton’s last week.

    Britney, she moved like a robot for the first part of her routine. I love her but I think she should retire already, it looks like she wants too. I feel like she is pushed into performing and doesn’t enjoy it anymore and yes i bet she was “medicated”…much better than the last performance I remember from her at an awards show though

    Sadly, sounds like my girl Britney Spears. I think he handlers keep her pretty medicated and docile to prevent any further erratic behavior. However, it is sad that she can never really experience life fully. Can’t feel anything. I don’t even think this is the life Britney wants anymore. Seems like she lost her fire and passion for it years ago. I am a big fan of hers, however, I think after her next album is released and her Vegas residency is done for good, she needs to go away for awhile…

    If this is Ms. Spears, I recall people saying a long time ago she allegedly pops something when she’s about to go on stage. I didn’t find her performance really astounding like everyone else. She was slow and off her marks.

    I didn’t watch it but the doughnuts make me think Ariana Grande although I’d heard Britney performed but I think I’ll stick with Grande.

    What is going on is all the lithium. Bipolar is legit, and you have to treat it properly, but it has its side effects too. And it is easy to see it on Britney. But she needs it so that is the tradeoff.

    Poor Brit. I think she has many psychological issues that require substantial drugs. Unfortunately, finding a cocktail that doesn’t zombie you out isn’t always easy, and requires constant management. Maybe her current cocktail needs to be revisited? Either way, it’s better than her head-shaving days. I don’t understand why she can’t stop performing and her family won’t let her hang it up. She has enough money to live in peace and quiet for the rest of her life.

    It’s been known for quite a while that she struggles with mental illness; my guess would be she’s wonked out on a mega-cocktail of psychopharmaceuticals.

    Poor Britney? Why do they keep pushing her out in the public? Why not let her retire after her Vegas stint and move back to Louisiana where she is from to raise her kids?

    I think not only is she bipolar, but I think she has anxiety issues where she needs to take medications to relax before performing… which causes her to look lost and out of rhythm. So sad.

    Britney, clue being “chaotic” her unfortunate show with K Fed. I feel bad for Britney, the whole performance she didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing and there were several times it looked liked the dancers had to move her in the right direction. The worst part is I’ve heard the choreography is from her Vegas show, so she should know it by heart and not seem so awkward. I don’t think she’s doing illegal drugs anymore, but I think they have her on something powerful since her…

      I just watched her performance on the 2016 Billboard Awards, and other than being a little stiff in the beginning, she danced pretty well. I didn’t see any of her backup dancers having to redirect her. There were times she held the hand of a backup dancer when moving from one part of the stage to another part, but only so she wouldn’t trip when she was stepping up or down on any stairs or platforms. Not because she didn’t know where to go or because she was “out of it”.

      Obtaining illegal drugs would be virtually impossible for her, anyway. Every single thing she purchases, from the most mundane toiletry items, is chronicled and turned in to the court. Zero chance she’s doing illegal drugs with the grip that her father and court have over her.

      Oh please, it is not virtually impossible for Brit to get drugs. That is the most naïve statement I’ve read in awhile, do you think people get a receipt for purchasing a few grams of coke? Or whether it is a pill, powder, etc form of meth is listed on an invoice?
      If Brit wanted any sort of drugs, she could get it regardless of her daddy. Now trying to hide obvious signs of drug use is how she would get caught.

      I honestly think this is what Brittney wants. Her family and management have found a way for her to keep doing her thing but in a more routine way (Las Vegas show) so it’s not as overwhelming as touring or doing red carpet events. Britney has always wanted to continue her music (I use that term loosely). She doesn’t know anything else, has no other skills. She isn’t capable of going through school at this point. It is what it is – Same show different night – she can handle that.

      Oh, I believe this, too, definitely! I think they will keep the dog and pony show going as long as possible. Not only for the money, but by the time she hangs up her g-string, and ‘retires’, her kids will be semi-grown and she won’t be a danger to them. I can see her just letting herself go, getting fat and gray haired, out of public sight. Just give momma a carton of smokes, a big screen tv, and a box of donuts. Lightly medicated, I think she will be quite happy.

      I agree. Totally different planet, but I saw Zig Ziglar speak once and it was so sad. This frail man who had had a stroke ‘needed’ his daughter to translate for him as no one in the audience could make out a word he was saying. It’s occasions like this that I wonder if it is the family or the performer – Britney/Zig that wants the show to go on.

Even if she is medicated for mental illness, this is something she knows by heart and CAN do and I think she …. maybe not enjoys it, but it’s her life.
