[Blind Gossip] Despite the chatter at the SAG Awards, this fella did not have a face lift. However, we do know why he looks so different!

He did not have anything lifted or tucked or implanted. And his mouth has always looked that weird.

Our over-50 actor looks different because of his SKIN. He finally got rid of the acne scars and pockmarks that were part of his rough, trademarked look.

He has always been self-conscious about it. He had a combination of laser skin resurfacing and fillers. No Botox, though. He can still emote.

His face looks smoother and more even. That’s why he looks so different. No knives. Just lasers and needles.

It’s Ray Liotta!

Actor Ray Liotta – best known for films like Goodfellas and Field of Dreams – has always had a distinctive look. Dark hair, blue eyes, an oddly tight little smile… and craggy, pock-marked skin.

He was consistently Photoshopped in still photos to smooth out the bumps, but the flaws were always apparent on film and on the red carpet.

His skin was so bad that a cosmetics company even used his face for a before-and-after ad for their skin treatment. (Note: That company was partly owned by Mike Shouhed of Shahs of Sunset.)

Liotta sued them and won, but the ad highlighted the fact that Liotta’s skin problem was the kind of cosmetic issue most people would want to eliminate.

After years of complaining about his skin, Liotta got some work done. When coupled with a bit of aging and some weight gain, his look today is a bit different.

Here he is at the 2016 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards with his daughter, Karsen.

Liotta’s face is definitely smoother. That’s fillers and resurfacing.

However, he still has bags under his eyes, so he didn’t have an eyelift. He’s also fairly jowly, so there’s been no lower face lift. He still has those “11” lines between his eyes, so Botox is unlikely.

Liotta popped up again this week on British talk show, Good Morning Britain, and people freaked out because they thought he looked so different.

Until he smiles that tight little Ray Liotta smile.

Then it gets weird.

But, then again, Liotta has always had that menacing kind of look about him! That’s one of the things that makes him so creepy/interesting in all of his roles.

When Ray Liotta is on screen, he owns the scene. As long as he maintains that quality, he’s going to work forever!

    Idk if this is Ray..he for sure looks like he had surgery done!! But I agree the clues fit him even though I am more inclined to go with Brad Pitt.. The fella is throwing me off!

    Ray Liotta. I never even noticed that he had acne scars, they weren’t obvious at all. I’ve seen much, much worse. But I do understand that a small imperfection on yourself will feel a 1000 times bigger than that. That’s just how our mind works. Too bad, because he looked great with his “imperfections.” He had a different look, but still very handsome. I mean, I usually find old/er guys creepy (sorry, no offense), but I took one look at him with a beard, and thought: “Wowza!”

    Optional: NO, he looks SO fake! He looked rugged, manly and sexy before falling victim to procedures. It’s called PLASTIC surgery for a reason!

    After reading everyone’s response I had to google Ray Liotta at the SAG awards. Holy damn! You sure he just fixed his acne scars and not his hole head? He’s not looking too good IMO

    Ray Liotta makes sense. I was actually on the red carpet prior to the SAG Awards and found his face very puffy and disorienting. He was barely recognizable in person. It’s a relief that he hasn’t done anything as distorting as a facelift. Quite frankly, the aftermath of the resurfacing appeared very significant.

    ray liotta. i kinda liked that he hadn’t changed his skin all these years in acting, so it’s a bit weird that he’s decided to do it now.

    Do you think he looks good: Not in the least. It’s reminding me of Joyce Wildenstein’s face, and that is NOT a good image to have in mind.

    When at least one article starts with “What The Hell Happened To Ray Liotta’s Face?” quite a few others have the same opinion!

    When I saw him on tv I was blown away, he doesn’t look better imo.

    He looks way different which is bad for a known actor – ask Jennifer Gray! Maybe he should have done the transition more gradually.

      It’s Ray Liotta, of Good Fella fame. Nice clue, Ace! His face looks bloated to me, which exacerbates how odd his mouth looks. I thought he was better looking before the peels. 🙂

    I think that his hairstyle made him look like John Gotti, which is fine if he is going for that look in a movie, but I think it aged him enormously.

    He looks alright, he’s in his 60’s after all, and at a certain age you have to cut people some slack, they can’t look like they’re in their 30’s though some try. Poor Sophia Loren, she should let herself look 80 instead of plumping her face out, it looks terrible.

    just googled some pix and its definitely Ray Liotta. His skin isn’t THAT different, actually, still some obvious acne scars. But the scars never bothered me anyway, I think he looks fine.

    He looks very different and I actually thought he had botox and maybe also a face lift. If he really just got rid of his scars it might look better and more natural once it settles in a bit more.
    I just hope this will not turn into a Jennifer Grey/Renée Zellweger situation. I always found him to be very interesting, unique and sexy.

      Yes, Brad has always been pretty, but his skin has also been rough. But I change my guess from Brad to Ray Liotta.

      I immediately thought Brad Pitt, but now: Ray Liotta! Good for him. He looks good! (how unfair is it, though, women still have to look like Barbie dolls without a flaw and a lot of men with cystic acne pits are thought of as good looking.)

      I think he looked better the way he was before. His flaws gave his face character. It wasn’t a detraction, at least to me.
