[Pop Bitch] Which Hollywood star caused widespread confusion at the BAFTAs when she announced to her make-up artist that she “didn’t want anyone touching [her] face?”
Similar: Wrong Wrong Wrong
Star:
[Optional] Do you prefer doing your own hair/makeup/nails or having other people do it for you?

If Tyra Banks was there it may have been her. I know MUA’s who have worked with her and she’s fanatic about the artists not touching her face.
That being said, it used to be the norm that a MUA never touched a clients face. You used a tissue to cradle your hand against their cheek. This is how we were taught when I was in esthetics school.

I don’t know who it was, but I wish I were special.

It’s not Winslet as Lisa Eldridge does hers and posted a photo of Kate before the show. Julianne? She doesn’t really strike me as being like that though.

I used to love having it all done for me until my last pedicure in December. The woman cut my toe 3x causing bleeding, which lead to a massive infection and a week of intense antibiotics. My toe still isn’t 100%. I don’t foresee any manis or pedis in 2016 for me!

I’m reading this as I’m at the nail salon getting a pedicure. And now i’m cringing ? that’s horrible
RitaSkeeter says
That’s horrible. One of my worst night.. to have a relaxing pedi turn into a scene from hostel… hope you are doing good now… sorry that happened to you.
FlowerGirl says
Wow, best wishes for complete healing for you ASAP. Those kind of stories are why I only get pro mani/pedis every 4-6 months, & do my own in-between (b/c I’m not good at cuticle management, & mine get too yicky.). I just hear/read too many stories about serious infections, etc. from carelessness. I also always bring my own set of m/p implements, from Sephora, to ensure safety. Thanks for sharing your story as a caution to everyone.

Stay away, ladies! You can give yourself healthy, safe pedis at home. Not worth it!

Why would something like that cause “widespread confusion”? Now I’m confused.

Hmmm…the only prominent Hollywood actress at the BAFTAs was Julianne Moore. It may be her.

No idea but I heard Adele make a joke about this once because people now expect her to be a diva. She said she was going to tell her make up artist to apply her make up but tell her she wasn’t to touch her face.
Aurelia says
This rings true from what I’ve read of Adele , I bet she was just having fun.
CanaryCry says
Not sure who the diva might be, but maybe she’s phobic about bacteria from anyone’s hands leading to anything from a few pimples to a life threatening infection. Then again, she was probably just anxious/cranky/full of other issues.
Would I do it myself or hire an artist? It would depend on the situation, I suppose.

Who doesn’t love getting pampered?

Don’t think it’s Kate Winslet; her make-up artist is Lisa Eldridge and she posts pics of them to Instagram.
