fat-club[Blind Gossip] These two chubby female celebrities celebrate their fuller figures. That’s fine. However, other celebrities aren’t very eager to join their little club.

For example, they contacted [Famous Actress] to see if she would do a project with them about overweight women.

At first, [Famous Actress] thought they were kidding, but they were serious. She was NOT happy or flattered by the invitation! She knows she could lose a few pounds, but her career doesn’t revolve around her weight. When they pushed, she told them “I’m a working actor. I have no interest in being a member of your fat girls club or a spokesperson for fat people. Do not contact me again.”

    This is definitely Gabourey Sidibe and Danielle Brooks, in the new ads for Lane Bryant. As for the 3rd, I’d say Octavia Spencer.

    We need look no further than these comments to discover why so many women struggle with eating disorders and body issues. We are so used to seeing size 0 celebs that we think normal bodies like Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham and even Christina Hendricks and Jennifer Lawrence are “fat”! We have totally lost the reality of what normal weight is. Wow. Depressing….

    Well I first thought Amy Schumer for being the insulted one because I think she would rather be thought of as a bitch than overweight, but I think she would have been referenced as a comedian. I think its Melissa McCarthy. Rebel Wilson and maybe that lady from the show This is Us, sorry I don’t know her name yet, but I do like the show and have always like Rebel’s work.

    I think it’s time that people stopped fat-shaming. It’s one of the last “acceptable” prejudices. I would be happy to speak up for people who are overweight. Especially because I found a way to help them (and no, this is not an advertisement). Now, when I see someone who is overweight, I think, “I can help you!” I don’t see people with a weight issue as lesser than or not ok.     Oh dear pardon ME.
    She’s a mean girl who grew up making fun of those less fortunate than she was.
    Shame on her.
    I struggled with weight issues all my life. Now we know it’s not only genetic, it’s hard to treat. But my first doctor told my 6 year old self that fat girls never got married. I remember that comment today and it still hurts.

    Amy Shumer is seriously crazy about her weight. On the one hand she’s done skits about it, but on the other she seems anxious and desperate to prove she’s a size 6. (Maybe on Mars? Because she’s obviously a fatty.)

    I have no idea who these people are, but I think the “famous actress” sounds like a real witch. I’ve never understood why people dislike overweight people. It’s not like they’re doing anything wrong. It’s ridiculous. smh

    Yikes. Club members: Melissa McCarthy, Gabourey Sidibe (or Rebel Wilson, although she doesn’t exactly seem to celebrate her weight, more like pokes fun at it). Famous actress: Amy Schumer. She’s more of a comedienne (though I don’t find her funny), but she’s the only one I can think of that is obviously a bit chubby, but refuses to accept herself as such. Yes I would be offended.

    I wouldn’t be insulted, but I could see how somebody might not want to be a part of representing if they are working on changing that aspect of themselves. Still, it’s no excuse for being rude.

    Optional: That would depend upon who asked me, how they asked, and whether or not I was comfortable with my weight, I think. It’s sort of insulting to be approached and asked “Hey, wanna be in our fat girls’ club?”, especially if one felt like one’s weight wasn’t really a factor in one’s success.

      I could see this. She does NOT like to talk about her body (which isn’t a negative thing, in my mind), so I could see her being touchy about that.

      Agreed. She got cranky at an Australian interviewer for calling her full figured. I don’t even think full figured is insulting, it’s a reference to being curvy and she can’t exactly deny her huge tits.

      Optional – it’s never easy to be an overweight woman. I’ve been every size from a zero to a twenty. I wouldn’t like being asked to do the work, but there are plenty of confident larger women who should absolutely celebrate where they are, as they should! I’m in a good place. Happy inside and healthy and that’s what I focus on
