Do You Recognize My Daughter

[Blind Gossip] Parents of child actors sometimes try to take advantage of their child’s fame.

This family has a young girl on a successful TV series that just got picked up for another season. The family went to dinner. The father of the girl kept bugging the wait staff about one particular thing.

He was saying, “Do you recognize my daughter? Do you recognize my daughter? She’s the star of [TV series]! Don’t you recognize her?”

When one of the wait staff finally did recognize her… the father asked that the meal for the entire family get comped! Strangely enough, the management politely declined to pick up the tab.

    Get away from him as soon as you can Millie! He will ruin your career. Nothing sinks a child star faster than a parent with no sense of professionalism. Producers won’t stand for it because there are PLENTY of other talented kids out there dying to take your place.

    Problem is most of these kids parents live vicariously through their kids, probably why they pushed them so hard to have careers and children. It’s gross.

    Millie Bobbie Brown is so adorable AND mature. I watch her snapchat feed. She is a doll. What a sad sad thing. Her mother seems fine. How awful. Despicable. This girl is obviously happy to be alive and feeling blessed, her fathers stuff can only detract. He needs a therapist.

    I’ve heard story after story about how insufferable Millie Bobbie Brown’s father is. It is a shame, too, because she is already a commanding actress at her tender age. She could have a Streep-worthy career if her pushy stage parents would cut it with the Lohan-starter kit shenanigans.

    I think this is the girl who plays Eleven in Stranger Things. ‘Strangely enough’ being a bit of a clue I think. I’ve just Googled and her name is Millie Bobby Brown. It’s unreasonable to ask for free stuff just because you, or your child is famous. Why would you even think it’s ok to ask?! If you want something, you pay for it, unless someone decides to do you a favour.

    Don’t know who but NO it was really rude of the dad. Unless the restaurant offers you should pay! And if they comp then you should at least tip! Us regular people can, why do those who have tons more money think they deserve everything for free?

      Agreed. From what I’ve read, they had no problem almost ruining the family financially to make her famous– and they have other children, to boot. I hope someone is taking her money and keeping it far away from the hands of mom and dad.
