Creepy Name Game

[Blind Gossip] When you join a new group, it’s smart to try to assimilate with your new team mates.

This guy may have crossed the line.

He joined a new professional sports team. The big star athlete on the team has a famous wife. She has an uncommon name. If you just mentioned her first name, everyone would know who you were talking about. Like Mariah. Or Oprah.

Anyway, the new team mate really wants the big star athlete on the team to like him. Right after he joined the team, he named his new baby the same uncommon name as the star’s famous wife. We don’t know if the two events are related… but the Star and his wife sure seem to think so!

They’re not flattered. They think it’s a little creepy. Dude is just trying too hard. Did he think this will make them like him? But what are they supposed to do? Tell him to change his baby’s name? They can’t do that.

    Get over yourselves, Brady’s. Gisele is a common first name and doesn’t “belong” to you.

    By the way, in German, it’s pronounced with a hard “G”, as in goat, and has three syllables. ” Gee–sell–a.” Mrs. Brady has German heritage so I’ve always wondered why she pronounced it Jee-zell. She’s as phony as her nose-job.

    Optional: I always wished when I was younger my name was common because I never had anything from the store with my name on it. But now there are more Danas and with being able to put your name on anything, I’ve made my peace with it 🙂

    I don’t think it’s weird it’s a nice name and it’s also a name of a famous ballet (although I’m sure he picked it for other reasons!) they should be able to name their kid what they want. A worse example was when Kimberley Walsh named her new baby Cole which was Cheryl’s previous-previous married name!

    Would love to have a unique name mine is so eighties!!

    Also, this is about Stephon Gilmore and his wife’s name is Gabrielle, so as a name choice for their child, it’s not that odd.

(Better than Belichick or Patriot or something.) I can also see the B&G convinced he did it to get on their good side because goodness knows it can’t be about anyone else…

    Ummmm….let me guess….Korea? LOL of course it’s Ciara. And it IS creepy. I’d have to say something and before too much time goes by and the name is set. Maybe gently suggest Ciara as a middle name. Or even the initial C. If the new guy is as infatuated as that he shouldn’t be offended.

    My name was VERY common among my peers. My kids have at least 4 friends whose moms have the same first name as me. I can’t imagine having a different name, but I definitely wished for something more unique as a child.

      Agree I think it was a coincidence. I at one point liked that as a baby name & it certainly wasn’t because I wanted to name my child after Giselle. Not surprised they think that she gets on my nerves.
