[Blind Gossip] When this pregnant celebrity was talking to her husband about their birthing plan, she was surprised when he expressed reluctance at being present during the birth.
It seemed like he was trying to get out of being there for the actual birth. He was saying, “Do I really have to be there?” and “I’m so busy with my filming schedule and I really don’t want to miss a full day of work.”
She insisted that he did need to be there and he eventually relented.
We are not sure if this means that there is trouble in the marriage… or if he just is not thrilled about witnessing the medical messiness of birth.

NOPE! not Blake & Ryan – he would be there front and centre same with ashton and adam.
It’s Alec Baldwin & Hilaria
JennyJustice says
this is not Blake and Ryan. This is their second child and he was there for the first and already knew what was involved. I can’t see him passing up being there for the second baby because he’s squeamish? I think this is someone with their first child or the father wouldn’t be being such a pussy about child birth.

What the hell is wrong with people?
I delivered both my kids (with a midwife present in case.)
Also was present for 11 of the 14 nephew and niece births of my siblings.
What could possibly be any more important in life than the birth of your own kids and that of family?
kikiie says
Hilaria and Alec Baldwin. His body language towards her has changed this time, he looks totally disinterested
MissCassandra says
Maybe Adam & Behati? I could see him saying that.
Ladieu says
Ryan and Blake, maybe he was shocked by the previous birth?
Some men fail to see their wives as sexual beings after witnessing a birth, it’s strange but does happen.
pattycakes says
Mom is doing ALL the work. The least Dad could do is be there. Sheesh.
VTskibride says
WOW, whoever this is it’s Beyond sad that they didn’t want to be there for the birth of their child. That would be such a disappointment and would forever change the way I viewed my husband. My hubby and I have one child and we always refer to his birth as the most amazing day of our lives. I can’t believe anyone could possibly want to miss it and not want to be there to support their partner and to see and hold their child. This person is a major Loser in my opinion. I feel sorry for…
prinny says
hmmm I don’t think its Blake and Ryan. Sounds more like a couple having their first child with hubby nervous about what he has to witness. If he’s been through it before I can’t imagine him being so fearful the second time around.
He’s a fool. Being present at the birth of your child is a magical experience you never forget, says my husband. Sure its gross but man up already. To witness it is nothing compared to going through the actual birth!
Squirrelnutkin says
Blake lively and Ryan Reynolds. Just out of curiosity– does anyone elses gaydar go off with him? I don’t know why but I have a hard time believing he’s straight (not that I care either way!). He always seems really effeminate.
Goodgrief says
Just to be different, Janet Jackson. Maybe she really isn’t the one pregnant and he didn’t think it was necessary to be there to watch the surrogate give birth.
perthcyclone says
This , I agree
SilentStar says
This is my guess too.
Regardless of the type of birth, I would expect a father to be part of it, even if it’s unpleasant.
dynamodavid says
I was there for both of our children’s births.
Not that big of a deal for the father.
But, for the mom, Wow! I’m still amazed 25 years later.
bertwheeler says
No idea, but being at birth of my daughter was the most emotional, astonishing, beautiful event of my life. There’s either trouble in that marriage or the guy’s a weakling.
PinkSlip says
Who knows who this is.
As wife? Sure as heck wouldn’t push a man to witness THAT !!

And the 2are the opposite, she Twitter about being in the metro and not being able to sit down, and he was the one sitting down and not offering her the seat(a lie but a juicier story)..

Don’t know who this is but I don’t know when it became mandatory for men to be there during the birth. For thousands upon thousands of years men waited somewhere else or just went about their business until they got the news that they had a son or a daughter. Then it became optional sometime around the late 1960s, but apparently now it’s mandatory.
MzDBDB says
Some men should NOT be present for the birth. There’s nothing wrong with that, they’re just not cut out for it…

Blake & Ryan
It seems odd that a dad wouldn’t want to be there. But Ryan Reynolds seems to have a detached personality & Blake seems like a dimwit. I’m sure he’s always been like this but she married him.

I told my husband before the birth of our first child that he did not have to be there if he had any issues about it and I also said I wouldn’t hold it against him. I wouldn’t have held it against him if he chose not to be present but he was gung-ho about the whole thing, it was a little weird and cute.

idk but if I were a guy I definitely wouldn’t want to be in there doing all the things men are expected to do these days…no way~ not just holding hands, but cutting the cord & watching it crown & slide out & all that stuff. Nope! They already had 1 so Ryan’s probably just now getting over what he say last time.

I’d be pi**ed if my husband didn’t want to be with me during the birth of OUR child! With the excuse that he couldn’t miss work???
Is this Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively?
celebiddy says
I made my man wait down the hall during the actual birth cause i didn’t want him to see the “messiness” we were both fine with it. He came in the room immediately after
KatarinaJ says
This cracks me up. My husband was there but i wouldn’t have cared it he was. The doctor asked if I wanted them to prop a mirror so I could ‘see’ the birth. I was like HELL no, I feel it, who would want to see it happening lol? Plus, yes the focus and NO NEED for concern or interaction with your spouse IS a plus!
gc02ef says
I’m going with Alec Baldwin, since he just had a fourth kid
It says ‘celebrity’ for the wife. So I’m assuming it’s not an actress or musician.

optional: I can fully understand him . I’m a woman and I if I ever get pregnant I want c-sektion &anesthesia, because I don’t want to be there myself.
woowoo says
Carrie, I highly recommend it! When I went to my first Dr. appt. with my first pregnancy, he went ahead and scheduled a c-section because my hips are very narrow. The section went very smoothly and so did the second one. I’m now almost 50 and many of my natural birth giving friends my age suffer from episodes of “bladder leakage”. Not me!
Just my experience and opinion, I know others might feel differently.
mamasaid says
I also had a problem free C-section- I was doing laundry a week after the procedure. No after effects, but we are lucky, i often hear of Csecs where the women suffer even years later, or from a botched epidural.
LooLoo says
Yeah, funny thing about c-sections- they’re extremely hard to heal from and end up causing 10 times more pain than a vaginal birth in the long run. You’re also awake during it. Yup- you’re awake as they pull your organs out and stitch them up and put them back in. It’s not something that a reasonable person would want unless it was medically necessary.
Katmandu says
Every time I read something like this, I am moved to comment on my own C-section (which was most welcome after 12 hard hours of labor). I must come from hearty peasant stock because I had only moderate pain in the hospital, mild pain at home, and I was back to my usual activity remarkably quickly! I feel some women moan and groan about their C-sections to make it sound bad, to get attention and sympathy. I am NOT accusing LooLoo here, or anyone else of such, but this was my own experience.
Ladieu says
Longer recovery time with a c-section – I’ve had 3, the 2nd was awful.
KatarinaJ says
I’ve heard friends who were happy they had c- section in the moment but dreaded it later in healing. I was EXHAUSTED after my natural birth but I went back to feeling normal pretty fast.

I hate Ryan. He seems like such a tool to me. Am I the only one? And I’m sorry but he is ‘ugly hot’ like if you look really close he looks cross-eyed. Do NOT get the appeal except for the hot bod. And it was he decided to do animation that I realized what a lame, weak voice he has.

my uncle couldn’t watch the birth of my cousin. he waited in the waiting room. but he’s a very devoted husband and father. they’ve been together almost 30 happy years.
Squeezes99 says
I’m old enough to remember when it was unheard of for a father or anyone else except the doctor and nurses to witness the birth of a child. Attitudes have changed quite a bit in a relatively short time.
Lola99 says
I suppose that’s true if you consider 40 or 50 years to be ‘a relatively short time’! LOL
blinkandyoumight says
@thelasthigh
yea if the father-to-be is queasy or feels really sick around things like that I have major sympathy! sometimes it’s good to let the mom be able to focus. i definitely think thats a worthy exception and doesnt take away the love the dads-to-be have! (or moms-to-be that cant watch their wives in labor)
though being not even in the hospital, like im guessing this blind implies, is awful. bad ryan reynolds!
MrsBreeder says
My oldest is 12….husband was there. He’d never really been around a baby before and is VERY squeamish about blood, etc. (Can’t even watch the kids wiggling their teeth.) Let’s just say I thought he might pass out when (as he put it) the head “just kept coming.”
I agree with @blink…you should at least be at the hospital/birthing center!
