I was really shocked that Sly didn’t win. I have not seen Bridge of Spies, but I am sure the fellow was deserving. I thought the sentimentality of it would farm that win through for Sly.
I thought GaGa’s performance powerful, but what is with all of her jerky movements lately???? Diluted the message somewhat.
I thought Sam Smith didn’t sound very good during his performance.
Chris’ monologue was spot on and really good, and agree that the race stuff became a bit much afterwards.

Best moment is leo finally winning congrats! And i wouldn’t say worst moment but most awkward/surprising was Stacey dash coming out.
jlalverson says
Chris’ opening was great, but I got really tired of the black jokes. It was just never ending. There are so many other things he could be joking about.
Girl Scout cookie thing was awkward.
Stacy Dash? Didn’t get that at all.
Gaga? Over it and her. Glad she didn’t win.
Happy for Leo and liked his speech.
Tom Hardy looked fine A.F.
michelleaugust92 says
Best: Leo winning, Dave Grohl, Gaga
Worst: Too many emphasis on the equality scandal
Moonpie says
You gotta pay me to see the whole show but I did see about an hour which included the Girl Scout cookie thing, it felt awkward as hell. I also saw R2D2 and C3PO, omg, no, no, and no. But I heard about Sam and Gaga, awful. Glad Leo won. We need the real tea. Thanks Ace.
yeslosangeles says
Chris Rock is bomb.
OoLaLana says
Best -> David Grohl covering Blackbird.
Worst -> Stacy Dash
Anyone else noticed quite a few camera shots going off in odd and unrecognizable places for a second or two throughout the night? Odd for that to happen at something as prestigious as the Oscars.
kidtitan says
Best moment: Lady Gaga losing!
Her campaign to win that Oscar was absolutely gross. From the fake crying to pretending to be Kesha’s best friend in the last few days especially when she refused and denied any rape claim in Kesha’s case in the past to her hipocrisy as she regularly worked with known rapists Terry Richardson and R. Kelly. She is the worst, did everything she could to grab that Oscar. I’m happy she got snubbed.

Hmmm … somebody’s full of venom. Is it also about Bowie, Kesha or Madonna? Enjoy your scapegoating.
Anyway, I was disappointed Sly didn’t win. And it’s not supposed to be hip to be happy for Leo. And all those satirical skits … I just SMH.
The fashion parade was enough for me.
scriptguy says
Best: Louis CK, Chris Rock and Chrissy Teigan’s reaction to Stacey Dash
Worst: Stacey Dash
scriptguy says
Also would like to add to the “Worst” pile the fact that it was only actors of colour who were asked about the #OscarsSoWhite issue on the red carpet.
They’re not the ones who should have to answer that question. It’s THE WHITE PEOPLE IN CHARGE who should.
But you know, yay LEO!
throwsumshade says
and…what the heck was going on with Olivia Munn’s face? Something is very, very different and I am not referring to the beard (wink wink) Also, some great and not so great fashions. Heidi Klum had on a dress that not even Carrie would have worn to the prom. Alicia Vikander’s dress was widely panned but I loved the yellow and silver design, Sofia Vergara wore her usual plunging neckline silhouette but she worked it out. And Kate Capshaw also has a different look, no? Amy Poehler. Really gurl?

Re: Olivia Munn’s face, you need to keep up with your BG items! Check out this one from a few days ago..

Can’t wait for the behind the scenes dish Ace…
Best–Gaga when hasn’t she been the best at every event she Performs at
Worst–another event that I look forward to that was hijacked by race relations ok mention it at the beginning then to coin a phrase, “LET IT GO”
throwsumshade says
Overall, I thought Chris did a good job as emcee, given all the hype. He seemed to address the diversity issue pretty well. His comments about Jada not being invited and blacks having more important things to worry about over the years than who won for best documentary (or whatever he said) were spot on. Yeah, a few misfires, like the Girl Scout cookie thing – they didn’t actually raise more than $65K did they?, Stacy Dash’s odd appearance, and the Asian kids as accountants.

I didn’t watch because I didn’t want to hear several hours of snark from Chris Rock. Very glad that Spotlight won Best Picture. We need more movies like this.
Veralynn says
Best – Chris Rock’s monologue where he didn’t entirely alienate the audience (majority white, people with Hollywood Power) but he guilted everyone enough to say, take a listen “Spread the opportunity.” Liked his segment on what the black audience watched in Compton – entirely different level of interest in film – none of the film nominations. Highlighting the entrenched interests of each group.
Worst – Lady Gaga and Sam Smith – did not love ANY of their music or delivery
Predictable…
brittanybliss223 says
Lady Gaga and Charlize Theron looked stunning on the red carpet!!
Worst moment had to be Stacey Dash
aligirl21 says
Agreed, 100% about Stacey Dash. Awwwkwarrrd.

I didn’t watch the Oscars, but I knew you’d have the good dish, Ace. Thanks! Happy Leap Day!
TrendyWendy says
The parts I saw were Chris Rock guilting the audience to buy girl scout cookies. I hate how the organization rips off the troops and girls with how small a percentage is what they get.
I laughed when Leo got the Oscar cuz oh boy the shenanigans after this that he’s been holding back.
I usually wait for Fashion Police for checking out the gowns, etc or a gossip blog that highlights the ridiculous.
I seriously wait for the last 30 minutes to tune in my attention. Otherwise I don’t…
mommagoosed says
Didn’t get to watch because I was at a Winter Jam concert, but have been looking forward to Ace’s behind-the-scenes blinds! 🙂 I am sure that Leo is relieved that he can resume his usual lifestyle now, lol.
CountessLurkula says
BEST: Lady Gaga
WORST: heavy handed Disney franchise placement (Toy Story and Star Wars)
lagally says
Yes, especially bc Friday the american Disney IT workers engineers and tech guys crying in congress about having to train their Mexican replacement workers..losing jobs, homes and pensions .,..not really big on Disney now!
Grande Queso says
Best moment was Leo (and Tom Hardy). The most awkward moment award goes to Chris Rock who kept up with race jokes almost 2 hours into the show. The monologue was funny as hell, but then after a few commercials it was like yawn status.
AlohaCanuckEh says
Agreed! So many more jokes on other topics could’ve been told but it went from being funny to just being relentless.
gossipguy says
I agree! I LOVED the opening. I was sick of the musical number openings, so it was great.
But the repetition was a lot, coupled with the horribly boring layout (sorry, just couldn’t handle one more production assistant #3 award).
ANON says
ANON only bc everyone is so PC these days
Yup
Just awful
It’s Sunday night before work week..come on!
2 hours preaching? And the rape stuff please!
It’s an awards show! We want to be entertained piers Morgan has best oped today!
I watched Netflix
Krabby Kakes says
You had to ‘endure’ 2 hours of race related talk and you feel tortured. I’m black and people of other races remind me of that passively and aggressively 24/7. Think on that.
