At The Check Cashing Store

[Blind Gossip] This actress was recently spied on line at one of those check cashing stores. She wasn’t there trying to get a payday loan. She was just trying to cash a check.

I don’t think it was a check from like a film or a TV show. It was a smaller check for a couple of thousand dollars. She was trying to keep her voice low, but I could hear her arguing with the clerk. She was saying something about how she couldn’t cash it at her regular bank because the IRS had frozen her account.

You’ve seen her on TV. She is over 30 and is currently on one of those crime shows.

Sounds like she may be having some sort of tax trouble.

    Yes I have gone to those check cashing establishments. Sometimes to cash a check or send/receive funds from Western Union. These places charge a fee on a sliding scale. It depends on the amount of the check you’re cashing there. For ex. $2.50 for a $250 check. For checks $1000 or over, additional ID is required and of course a larger fee.

    I never been to a check cashing place, but I have been to the currency exchange and they do cash checks but only if it’s not a personal check. You also can pay your utility bills,get your city sticker for your car, get a money order, and even get order your birth certificate.

    What is a check cashing place? ,or do you mean a payday loan?

    Payday loan: Place were you take out a loan, and some will cash your check for you.

    Most of this isn’t true. As it’s already been said a check cashing store and a currency exchange aren’t the same. I’m not sure if you actually live in Chicago or are just making a generalization but that’s not true either.

    Never been to one of those cashing check places, but heard that they take a big chunk out to cash your check… so you have to be desperate if you want a check cashed…..

    This is not accurate. A currency exchange and a cheque cashing place are 2 very different businesses. People use cheque cashing places usually because they don’t have a bank account or owe money which can be tracked through a bank account, ie. a loan that’s past due or child support. A currency exchange is self explanatory. Most do not cash cheques.

    You can cash a business check (no personal checks) at a Wal Mart for $3.00 if the check is under $1000.

    She’s on Criminal Minds and she’s going through a divorce. Her ex hubs is also a lawyer, so maybe he’s getting nasty and trying to come for her coins? Shoot, I dont know!

    I have used one of those places in the past and I think they take like a 10% fee out of your money? Something obnoxious like that.

    Optional: I worked for a check cashing place. usually between 8-12% I was really trained to push the debit card option to get people to have their paychecks/govt benefits direct deposit to our store brand debit cards. That’s when we got all the fees

    Before I had a decent bank account, I’d cash my paychecks at one of those places. If I remember correctly, they charged a small fee – no big hustle.

    The payday loan business is quite predatory. They keep you in perpetual debt because of shady interest rates. If big business and governments would only pay their workers more, this would be redundant. 1% world’s elite ruling over and controlling the global stores and surpluses has got to end.
