Dumb Casting Move

[Blind Gossip] This major movie star will not be taking on this friendly role that everyone thought was his. You might hear that it was a scheduling issue… but we hear there was more to it!

He completely overplayed his hand. Such a dumb move. He thinks it’s the 1990s. He wanted a ridiculous amount of money and additional credits and creative input and points. Then he tried to get [his family members] in as part of the deal. Ummm… NO. In the last ten years, I think he’s only had one film in which he starred that even made any real money, and that was an ensemble film, so it wasn’t all him [that made it a success]. Twenty years ago, he was hot, but now there are a dozen names that are just as famous and will be happy to jump on this at a lower cost and with less fuss. Expect an announcement soon.

So, it sounds like rather than bringing in a fresh face, they will be making an offer soon to another established actor. We’re all ears to hear who it’s going to be!

    movie: Idk
    Fave movie? The pursuit of happiness is his best movie! That’s is! He is an over praised And overrated actor. Just like Tom Cruise. Ugh.
    Oh Suicide squad would be greater without him.

    And I do NOT blame him. The Franchises he’s been in have made BILLIONS and there is a TON of money made beyond the Box Office. He knows the deal and if you think that Suicide Squad would’ve survived without him, you’re naive.

    Didnt he lose out on the Independence Day sequel for the same reasons?
    Seems like for such an “intelligent” guy he would be getting the idea that he cant make demands like that anymore and get away with it.

    He’s made several movies I like. Hitch, The Pursuit of Happyness and I, Legend come to mind immediately, and there are other great ones. I think he’s a great actor with a lot of versatility, and if he could just tone down his demands (including trying to get his kids into every film), then maybe he could have a great career again.

    Based on the hints, I am going to say Will Smith. But, he was in that concussion movie not too long ago and he was the main actor…so doesn’t quite add up.

    Will Smith, Tim Burton’s Dumbo movie. “Dumb”, “fresh face”, “all ears”. Didn’t he try to pull the same s**t with Independence Day 2 and casting Jaden?
    My favorite movie of his is NONE OF THEM. He sucks.

    Will smith – the all ears comment gave it away. Guess the move was suicide squad that made money. His best acting is in the fresh prince, especially the episode where his dad comes back. That last scene is heart-rending

    I could be off but Will Smith?
    He’s lost roles in the past for the exact same reason. Plus the only recent film he’s been in with decent box office success was the ensemble movie Suicide Squad.

    Independence Day was my favorite film of his. Men in Black was also enjoyable. But both movies could have done well without Will.

    I find his mugging for the camera and hamming it up annoying and it detracts from the film. His inflated ego and demands show just how out of touch with reality and irrelevant Smith is. Retire already.

    My favourite movie is his would probably be Six Degrees of Separation.

    He’s gotta check his ego though. His only good movies in the past decade were MIB3 and I Am Legend.

    I think he peaked with Independence Day and the MIB movies. Haven’t really watched much of his stuff since then.

    I liked Men in Black 1, and Suicide Squad.

    Dumb made me think Jim Carey (Dumb and Dumber) but I think this is Will Smith because he has Jaden and Willow to try and cast and “fresh” refers to Fresh Prince of Bel Air and he has kind of big ears ? (Sorry Will)

    Will Smith? For example, he is known for trying to get his son into his films. Also the reference to an ensemble movie (Suicide Squad?), ears and “fresh” face. He was in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

    Ok, first of all, I didn’t even KNOW they were making a live-action Dumbo movie! Great clues, Ace! This is Will Smith, who apparently won’t be in the movie due to scheduling differences.

    My fave is Men in Black.

    I have no idea what the movie is supposed to be, but I thought of Will Smith, since he’s considered a major movie star and was enormously popular in the 90s, and those demands sound like him. Especially trying to get his family involved. Both of his kids have been in several movies with him.

      I hope this is Will Smith, he’s become revolting as of late and I used to like him. Hocking no talent spawn is off putting to me regardless of who is doing it.

      “XXXXX reports that talks between Smith and Disney have broken off, citing salary and scheduling conflicts.”
