Skipping Class

[Blind Gossip] The daughter of this very famous female performer is currently attending college.

Or is she?

We are in the same [subject] class. The girl never shows up!

I though she dropped out, but then someone else said that she is still enrolled but rarely shows up for ANY classes!

Supposedly she’s always making excuses as to why she can’t be there (like saying she has work commitments elsewhere or that she is tired from traveling).

I’m working my butt off for my degree, but I guess if you are the daughter of someone rich and famous, you can get the same degree without putting in the time!

Does Mommy know her little girl is cutting class so often?

    If it is Madonna’s kid I thought she dropped out after her first year to work. It blows my mind nobody mentions the program she was accepted into. She was in musical theater at U Mich. It is very hard to impossible to be accepted. I can’t imagine them putting up with her not attending for long, unless her mom donated a wing or building to the school. Also, that area of the country is BORING compared to LA. I don’t blame her for skipping out.

    Is Madonna’s daughter Lourdes in college yet? I never skipped classes in college. I was paying for that * myself, so I took everything I could. Many of my peers, who had their mommy and daddy paying their way, were much more likely to cut class. And now look how successful I am!

    I attended classes in every single course, so probably high nineties percent. When you look at the math, each college class (class, not course!) was hundreds of dollars!

    Eh, I went to at least 80-90% of them. Usually cut class when it was a beautiful day outside. Still graduated cum laude.

    I was class vice president, so my attendance was on point. This was back in the 90’s and the explosion of the internet. So if you wanted to learn the day’s lecture and labs, your butt had best be seated in a class seat.

    [Optional] I’d say I went to about 70% of my timetable overall – didn’t bother so much with seminars and study skills classes, but always tried to get to lectures. TBH my chronic fatigue was so bad I was shocked when I ended up with a 2.1!

    The only entertainer I can think of who has a daughter in college is Madonna. Her daughter is Lourdes, I think.

    I loved college, so I didn’t miss many classes. I hated 8 o’clock classes though, and did occasionally sleep in.

    I attended 90% of my classes. I would only miss if I was sick or had a serious appointment. I always looked at the cost of each class.

    Lourdes/Madonna at UofM. When I went to college I could only afford two or three skips per class per semester before it compromised my graduation. I can’t imagine Lourdes gives a * about graduation though. I wouldn’t if I were her.

    I’m gonna say this is Lourdes Leon, Madonna’s daughter, who’s enrolled at the University of Michigan. She’s doing some modeling now, and I can imagine her blowing off classes.
    I somehow got into the best school in my state (one of the “public Ivies’) and Imposter Syndrome had me too terrified of flunking out to skip classes freshman year. After, I was lucky to genuinely enjoy most classes (except statistics, which I did frequently skip). Overall, probably attended 85-90%.

      Oh yeah and I attended 100% of my classes. Never missed a class because i never got sick and I absolutely LOVED college. Going back now for a higher degree.

    Why bother to go to college then? You get to pick your major. Unless she just picked something to keep her mamma quiet, happy, and her cash flow rolling cuz i read main reason her kids…especially Rocco hate her (meaning how kids hate their parents) is because she’s SUPER controlling. I paid 4my nursing degree so heck yeah i went to all.

    Then realized college is expensive and later in,life and did much better.

    No clue – but I work at a university. If she is not making the grade she won’t be there for long. You can’t calculate a grade with a bunch of 0s on assignments. You might get one or two profs who will give her some wiggle room, but certainly not everyone. Most make it a point of pride to fail students when they deserve it.

    I don’t see the problem here. I cut most of my classes throughout undergrad and grad school due to anxiety. I studied from the books and not from the profs or tutorials. As long as you hand in the required papers and write the exam, what’s the problem? Why are people so intent on having others do things exactly like them. Don’t we live in a free country?

      I suppose that’s OK, as long as you can do the work AND the professor doesn’t require attendance. I don’t know about U. of Michigan, but at the school I attended, most of my classes had attendance requirements.

    I am sure everyone will say Lourdes Leon. But in her defense I never showed up once for first year psych. I read the textbook and studied and got 99 percent on the final exam.

    Mom: Madonna, the daughter is Lourdes.

    In the beginning I attended all of my classes until I was kicked out thanks to my appendix. I went to three different hospitals during that time which in the end I still have my appendix in. It didn’t help I had a bad boyfriend either when I needed him (we broke up two days before I went to the first hospital).

    I probably attended 90% of my classes. I still have nightmares that I skipped all semester and have to take an exam and don’t know where the room is. Or I sometimes dream that I didn’t finish and have to go back to get my degree.

      OMG, I used to have a recurring nightmare that I suddenly realize that I’ve forgotten to go to a class all semester, and now I have to take an exam. That dream stressed me out so bad for years.

      OMG I have that dream, and I graduated from college YEARS ago. My dream revolves around having signed up for a class but not realizing it was on my schedule. I finally realize late in the semester I’ve never attended the class, and I’m in a panic.

      I actually did that – skipped a class all semester because it was an easy A, and when I went to take the final exam, the whole wing of that building (where the exam should have been) was curtained off for construction purposes. Not surprisingly, I failed that class.

      That happens to me to!
      I had my degree 20 years ago so I find it very silly but I think it´s the result of all the stress and hard work to get my chemical engineer degree.
      It´s a horrible wake up with such stressy dreams.

      I still have that dream decades after earning my last degree! It’s terrifying and I can’t figure out what it means. Does anyone here do dream analysis?

      Not “to” but “too”.
      Maybe post traumatic stress?
      Those days I felt like my whole live depend on get (or getting?) my degree.
      Failure was not an option. My family was crystal clear about that.

      I graduated from a top-tier university with a 3.9 and only went to classes to take tests or if attendance counted toward my grade. People learn in different ways – I do better reading a book than listening to a lecture. Also lived off campus and couldn’t afford a parking pass.
