[Blind Gossip] This actor is one of the stars of a television show that had a great season. The show is a big hit. He’s feeling good about that. Really good. So good, in fact, that he wants producers to DOUBLE his salary for next season!
That’s a big bump. Could they do the show without him? Well, most characters are expendable, but we think that they would want to keep this one around. Maybe pay up and then kill him off next season to teach the rest of the cast a lesson in greed?

Most of the guesses are for shows that are currently in the middle of their seasons, but the item says “had” a great season which could imply that the season is over with.
For a show that is still in the middle of the season, they probably would have said “has had a great season” or “is having a great season.” Of course I could be wrong.
With that in mind, I’m thinking someone from a cable show such as Westworld.

Teddy Danson The Good Place
louisianagurl says
I agree with you. All of the good references and the “teaching them a lesson in greed” would go along with the themes of the show. I would love to know what would get HIM thrown out of “The Good Place”…lol.
Happy New Year to all! I hope everyone is staying safe and warm/cool depending on which part of the country you are in!!
goblinlab says
Okay i’m gonna guess one of those “Chicago: ” shows. Big enough hits in ratings, ensemble casts, characters in dangerous lif-threatening situations all the time.
goblinlab says
Read this more carefully. It said a “big hit” show that had a GREAT season. That takes out: Bull, Bloodline, TWD (ratings dropped a lot), Blindspot, Designated Survivor, Empire, etc. Also Re: “This Is Us”, I think that “had a great season” infers it’s a show that had other seasons before this one. (But I can’t guess this one either…)
EastlakeGirl says
I’m going with either Lucas Till from MacGyver or Clayne Crawford from Lethal Weapon
goblinlab says
Mcguyver and Lethal Weapon did not have great year with big ratings, so it wouldn’t be these.

Shot in the dark: Terence Howard aka Lucious Lyon on Empire?
– rumored to have an inflated ego
– his character is in the show often referred to as “he is Empire”
– his face is on the Empire logo
– his character loves to go all gagster on everyone, so it’d be easy to plot his death
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanuka everyone <3

Please don’t be Rob Lowe and Code Black. I’m already traumatized from the huge cuts they made to my favorite characters when Season 2 came back. So many didn’t return and it wasn’t even explained. sob
HaNeull says
The Walking Dead guesses make sense, but I’m wondering if maybe it might be someone from Narcos? (“bump”, “dispensable”) Unsure of who would be asking, though.
On Raises: The only time I’ve ever asked was when I was 21, working at a dept. store. I learned the 3 male employees hired with me were making $1-2 more than me. I asked for one and got a $1 raise. Recently, in my career, I was given a $10k/year raise. I know that’s small for some (and certainly in my area – SF), but I’m…

Ted Danson of The Good Place fits all the “good” clues.

Just going to say this. I think it’s Danson too.
StellaK says
Jeffery Dean Morgan for The Walking Dead. If they follow the comics, the won’t really need him too much after season 8 maybe a cameo here and there.

Milo Ventimiglia, This is us?
prinny says
Hmm, I will guess Milo Ventamiglia from This is Us. Looks like the character will eventually get killed off anyway. They could choose to not do flashbacks of the past anymore. Maybe he’s trying to get as much as he can before that happens. I am probably way off. Must be clues here I am missing.
I have been out of the corporate world for a while, have my own business, what are raises again????
dynamodavid says
Actor: Just a guess: Andrew Lincoln
TV Show: The Walking Dead
(I think he’s tired of the character and needs a break, so asking for a raise while a member of a thespian group show is the best way to leave.)

charlotte620 says
It’s got to be someone from The Walking Dead since it’s so popular but yet Andrew Lincoln only makes 90k/episode which is relatively tiny compared to other lead actors in hit shows. I thought Lincoln at first, but all the hints relate to Negan (big hit, double, bump, pay up, teach a lesson….), and some of the wording in the post even sounds a bit Negan-ish…so I say Jeffrey Dean Morgan!
I asked for a small raise recently and got it…Wish I’d had the guts to ask for more though!

Milo Ventimeglia.
LooLoo says
Norman Reedus? I was thinking The Walking Dead, but it may be Game of Thrones. Both shows love to kill off important characters.
apple martini says
I doubt it’s “Game of Thrones.” They’re on a specific narrative track because of the books and can’t just kill off major characters because they feel like it. There’s also just one season left after the next one, so if they killed off someone as a message, what does it matter when the show’s over then anyway?
PatioPrincess says
I don’t care who it is as long as it isn’t Norman Reedus. If he gets killed-off I will loose faith in mankind and need counseling and therapy. He DOES deserve the money because he IS that good, but, if Daryl dies……yes, we will ride at dawn and riot!
(Public education isn’t the place to ask for a raise, I only get them contractually from time to time and they are a pittance considering the crap I put up with the youth of the world and their whiner parents.)

Negan from walking dead? careful though, everyone is disposable on this one!
Gemzan says
I think you’re right. I guessed Andrew Lincoln above, but the clues sound like Negan. Plus Andrew and Norman Reedus were seeking the same raise, I believe, and this blind is about one person, not two.
Brienne of Snarth says
No. The Walking Dead had lower ratings than usual. Also the season isn’t over. It’s only midseason. I doubt that Jeffrey Dean Morgan only signed a single year contract.

Somewhat “wild” guess –
Actor: James Marsden
TV Show: Westworld
Can’t see how it would match up with this “good” theme in the post that seems like it might be a clue, though.
MrFahrenheit says
This was my first thought too, but he actually seems pretty level-headed and down-to-earth, so not really the type.
missmissy says
I like this guess. It is more of an ensemble show, so while he is central, he could easily be replaced. The story could also easily accommodate his loss.
Is he greedy? Not in the least. If a show is successful, the talent who create the characters should be rewarded. Its not like the network or the producers are going to pay the writers, or production staff more – they are going to keep the profits and rights to the show. He should go for it!
timpeaks says
I like the Westworld guess, but will change the actor to Jeffrey Wright.
IAmSage says
Actor: Michael Weatherly
TV Show: Bull
Laughing1 says
Probably Kiefer Sutherland, Designated Survivor.
Double?
Nope.
BobNYC says
Considering this show is in deep ratings trouble, I doubt it. — Unless, of course, somebody is looking for a reason to cancel other than poor ratings…
Conchord says
I don’t think so, because he IS the show. They wouldn’t be talking about killing him off and going forward without him. It has to be someone important, but not too important.
throwsumshade says
This could be Milo Ventimiglia from my new favorite show This Is Us. Although he is dead when they show the 2016 characters, he does appear in every episode in the 70s and 80s. Or, maybe this is Justin Hartley or Sterling K. Brown. Probs not Chris Sullivan (don’t be dead Toby!).
tellmemore says
I doubt it. The blind says most of the characters are dispensable, and that’s pretty much the opposite of This is Us.
Gemzan says
Please don’t let this be Andrew Lincoln and The Walking Dead! I know he and Norman Reedus were seeking raises and Andrew’s character is considered unkillable ( by me, at least!). Forget Darryl- if Rick dies I riot!

The Walking Dead season isn’t over with, (just half over) so it isn’t likely anyone from that.

QubbuQ says
It’s the guy with the baseball bat that came in at the end there. He wants a pay bump and his character has to finish his story arc that he introduced so he figures he’s got them where he wants them. But, they could just have a stand in, or ghost him and they find his corpse later or such. He’s still expendable. But, there’s nothing wrong with getting a fair cut of a very profitable show. Everyone involved should get rich, not just the execs and network.
QubbuQ says
A real hit = baseball bat. Walking Dead. Season doesn’t have to be over for negotiations for the next one.
