Foreign Voicey And Pea Brained

pizza-4[Blind Gossip] This music artist is from New York City. He has a foreign-sounding name and over $50 million in the bank.

He stopped by an Italian restaurant this weekend for a meal. He had ten friends with him. They ate. They drank. They ran the waitress ragged with drink refills and special requests.

They walked out when they were done. Nobody paid the bill. And nobody left a tip.

This same celebrity was in the same restaurant with a voicey singer and a pea-brained singer a few weeks ago. They ALSO walked out without paying and without tipping!

    If I owned a restaurant and it was successful or starting out , I might cut bill in half and barter for the publicity photo with signed autograph or even comp the bill and make sure my server was compensated but I would not put up with this theft of service and I would confront them I am older of course . To all those celebs out there who think they are untouchable and above everybody . I got two words for them Michael Jackson even though he was a good guy .

    I have waitressed before and it is hard work. When you have people taking up a lot of table space for hours, you lose a lot of money and then they dined and dashed and no tip. They are complete scum. No excuse for this. They knew what they did was wrong.

    Slightly O/T here, but I’ve read a lot of comments about how you have to tip no matter what and I find this so strange. I know it’s just what you do in America, but why not just increase the menu prices and let the house pay employees a better wage? Don’t get Me wrong, I do leave a tip if I think the service and/or food has been exceptional, but the idea you have to leave a tip “no matter what” is bizarre.

    I don’t have any idea who it could be but for * sake please pay your checks! I hope these people will be discovered and denied of future service by default. Celebs get a lot of free stuff, better service and treatment, at least they could pay for their food. Not fair at all.

    I think this is about the dinner at Pasquale Jones after the VMAS, with Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Puff Daddy, Cassie, Steve Stoute and Lauren Branche.

    No idea – maybe Fergie as other posters have said wrt the black eyed peas.

    Celebrities should pay their own way just like everyone else and not leaving a tip is just plain rude – No one needs that sort of clientele and yes I did own several restaurants – they all were successful and I never had to comp meals –

    I don’t know who these people are but this is what is wrong with this country and this why we need someone like Donald Trump in the WH. No more of these ‘people who think they are special’ taking a free ride off the back of hard working Americans who have to work for a living.

    And, no! If I were the owner or worked there, I would expect any celebrity to pay for their meal/drinks and tip like anyone else. They get enough free things as it is.

      DT pays his bills. he just LEGALLY wrote off taxes after a nearly billion dollar loss. big companies and small companies do it all the time. it’s common knowledge among accountants that you don’t pay taxes on a loss. he’d be an idiot NOT to use the tax laws this way. btw, those tax laws were in place during bill clinton’s term… get a grip

      Celebiddy, “doesn’t pay his bills” also applies to Trump’s history of not paying contractors/employees. There was a big article in Time magazine a couple of weeks ago.

    Rich freeloaders don’t deserve to get any free meals. How rude and cheap, low class can you be to walk out of a restaurant without paying the bill or tipping the wait staff.

    How dumb is the restaurant to let him come back in with 10 friends after he had already walked out earlier.

      Actually, I’m almost 100% sure this is not Lin-Manuel Miranda. I say this because I’ve served him before at my restaurant with about 8 or so of his friends (it was someone’s birthday) and he was nothing but kind, and left over 20% for the tip. Very nice guy, I doubt he’d pull this considering the experience I had with him.

    The rule for a comped meal is a 40-50% tip. It shows respect to the manager for comping you and makes the staff member glad to have served you. Zero is unacceptable. The minimum is 18% on what the bill would have been!

    It would depend on the size of my restaurant, celebrities are not gods and should willingly pay their own way, they didn’t walk into a freebie, the menu has prices on it. these people should be charged legally, or at least exposed, if you or I left a restaurant after eating and drinking with ten of our friends that would be the case. End of story.

    Everyone should know that even if your meal is discounted or comp’ed, you still tip on the entire amount of the bill. The server works just as hard even if you get a discount, especially if you sit around taking up his/her time and table all night.

      If the service is abysmal then why should someone tip? Also, in some cultures (like Japan for example) it is rude to tip. I’m not justifying the behaviour of these singers, however to call people filth for not tipping is ridiculous.

      No, it’s spot on. Servers don’t get paid unless you tip. In fact, it can cost them money to serve you if you don’t because of the way they are taxed. Most are taxed as if you had tipped, so if you don’t, it comes out of their pockets. Even if your service isn’t great, you do need to tip. If they brought you food, tip them. That’s how they get paid for their job.

      Sounds like you are justifying not tipping and that is certainly your prerogative. It’s mine to disdain people who make a lot of excuses not to tip. This is how hard working people support themselves. Things can go wrong in the kitchen, seaters can seat too many people at once, managers can be lame.dont take it out on the servers. I worked as a server in college and now both of my kids are doing the same. Theyre taxed on 15% when some people leave nothing
