[Blind Gossip] A young girl with a big crush on a famous singer went to see him in concert this weekend. Excited about seeing him perform in person, she and her friends were talking up a storm about him on social media prior to the show.
He saw the messages.
Our girl has cerebral palsy, and when the show ended, she needed to use a special exit near the stage to exit with her walker. As she was leaving, she was shocked to hear the singer calling her name!
He recognized her from her photos, and wanted to meet her. He called over the girl and her family and introduced himself. Then he said, “Wait right here. I have to go do an encore, but I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
After he finished the show, he brought the girl backstage and spent around twenty minutes with her. He introduced her to some other famous musicians who were performing with him, took some photos with her, and gave her some signed items, including a set list.
It was the thrill of a lifetime for the girl… and a smooth move by a nice guy!

Rob Thomas. He’s one of my favorite people.
Best concert experience – There are a couple. I have to preface by saying that I am disabled. I have spinal muscular atrophy and use a wheelchair.
I went to a Jay-Z concert a couple of years ago. I was in the front row. He saw me and started talking to me in front of everyone, asking how I was enjoying the show, calling me sexy. It was amazing.
Second was NKOTB last year. Donnie Wahlberg jumped off the stage and sang right to me.
Kellie72 says
Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20.

Sean mendes? This is cool. Celebrities who lie, beard, cheat and think that they are above everyone else should be called out but nice celebs need to be rewarded by good press. Way to go Sean, don’t let fame change you into a callous brat.

And THIS is exactly what we need to read about & celebrate someone worthy of praise! Especially when our country is approaching an election where “the orange one” aka “he who must not be named” could potentially become our president! Oprah, help us all!!

My first thought was well, this CAN’T be Justin Bieber, and then I thought Drake.
Best concert I have ever been to: The Cult in the late eighties, very high energy show.
For sentimental reasons: We took my son to see Green Day in Albany NY which was a six hour drive away, so we made it a family road trip when he was thirteen. We were able to get great seats and he caught a drumstick! It was his first concert! I was so happy to give him that experience with his favourite band.

So do I! Probably the most underrated band ever, and Rob is such a great singer, songwriter, musician and real class act! He is super caring, and has such a heart as we can see by him dealing with Marisol’s autoimmune illness. So good to read from my fellow Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas fans.

My best concert experience was similar to this. My favorite singer isn’t really played on the radio very often, but I love her music and her personality. I went to see her in concert MANY times (she has been an opening act for a couple of very popular singers) and one of these times I won a pass to go backstage and meet her. I tweeted about how excited I was and when I finally met her she recognized me from the…
