Do you see any other fat women doing that same job? No. It’s because it turns out that no one wants to see a fat woman on morning TV. They can’t outright fire her without being accused of being sexist or racist or whatever. So they shuffled her off to a channel nobody watches. They told her that this was a big promotion for her to get her own show. The truth is that it’s a demotion.

    Tv Talent: Michaela Pereira from CNN who was demoted to HLN.

    She was the former co-host of CNN’s morning show New Day. Left the show based in New York and moved back to Los Angeles to start her own show. HLN is the lowest rated cable news outlet.

    Micheala Pereira – moving from CNN to HLN. She was the only decent one on New Day. I bet nobody watching cared about her weight. Just poor mgmt at CNN. Sad.

    show might last 6 mnths to a year. It’s amazing that CNN attributes low ratings to her weight. CNN is going down and it’s because people are sick of lies and want real news and go online to get it.

    Morning Express is the same stories repeated over and over for hours and it’s still on, so her show can’t be much worse.

    Michaela Pereira from CNN to HLN. It’s a damn shame as she is a great newscaster. I first saw her on TECH TV and then the KTLA years. She knows her stuff and CNN should be ashamed of themselves.

    This is too bad. I watched her when she was on Ktla 5 Los Angeles and she was a good anchor. I knew leaving for CNN was going to be tricky for her .
    No the show won’t make it. She still isn’t a big enough name

    Michaela Pareira. CNN moved her to HLN for her own morning show. I really liked her. She seems very grounded, genuine, and good at her job. Figures.

    Michaela or whatever her name is. She was on CNN in the morning. They moved her to HLN. I am sure she knows what they did and that it is not a promotion.

    michaela pereira. I’m a huge nerd and watch New Day every morning and I was happy to see her go. I felt like she didn’t add much and Chris and Alisyn have a better rapport without her. I don’t support someone being fired solely because of their weight, but i think this was more than that. The show is better without her.

    I’m gonna guess Michaela Pereira. “Promoted” her from New Day on CNN to her own show on HLN.

    … and I totally watch HLN to get my Forensic Files fix.

    This is messed up. The girl in the photo is beautiful to be considered fat. I guess that makes me fat (maybe I am not quite up to her size). But I am still a hot teacher to a LOT of people. That stuff can be largely cultural. My culture celebrates thickness and puts down skinny. It really depends on your environment because thick chicks around here who are cute like that, dress well, independent–Goddesses!! Especially if you are healthy, and many curvy chicks are. SMH

    Michaela Pereira from CNN to HLN. I live in LA and watched KTLA MORNING NEWS and that is where I first saw her. TO me she always came across like she was too good for that show. She was always rude and snappy to her co-anchor and she would do this on the air. That why I was shocked when CNN hored her. When I saw she was getting her own show I knew she had to be fired off the CNN Show “New Day”. I guess the people on that show got sick of her antics.

    Sadly, this is about Michaela Pereira I think. Yes, she is “heavy” but I like her, watched her when she was on KTLA here In L.A. Not her fault HLN is dying…

      This is all so ridiculous. There has been a boom in plus size modeling and regular sized clothing line campaigns for women for years now. WHY would they not consider keeping her on thinking this is JUST the under-tapped demographic and right message to be sending the public? I think they have an in a more “weighty’ on air personality and imagine there are women who feel this way too!

      That’s crazy. Somewhere from her cloud of riches, the most famous tv woman of all time is laughing her butt off. Oprah’s weight is what endeared her to audiences, humanizing her to the masses. Millions nodded their head with her daily on her personal battle with the bulge. So why fire Michaela? If anything they should take a note from Oprah and tap into this industry. Stupid decision.

      She was always cranky on KTLA. She would always be hostile or flat out rude to Mark Kristi. I was shocked CNN hired her. Had they watched her on KTLA they could see would not be a good fit.
