couple breaking up 17[Blind Gossip] There are conflicting reports about this famous young couple’s breakup. Some say there was no drama. Some say there was lots of drama. Want to know what really happened?

She loved him and he loved her… just not as much.

After they were dating for six or seven months, she asked where the relationship was going. Were they moving towards a serious commitment? Not nagging. Just asking.

He assured her that he loved her. Then he mentioned the P word.

He told her that if he was going to propose that he didn’t want to spoil the surprise. He told her that she just needed to relax and let it happen. So he didn’t actually say that he was definitely planning to propose, but he definitely did lead her to believe that it was going to happen.

At first, she was giddy at the prospect.

It could be right around the corner. If they were going on a date, or going away for the weekend, she believed that it might happen then. Maybe over the holidays or on their one-year anniversary or at the thirteen month mark.

What she didn’t know was that he actually had no intention of proposing. None.

In fact, those conversations about commitment seemed to have spooked him. Instead of spending more time with her, and behaving more committed and loving, he pulled away and started engaging in some activities that defy the very definition of committed.

When she found out, she was shocked. She had been loyal to him. She had never embarrassed him. He not only showed disloyalty… he embarrassed her. Those are both HUGE no nos to her.

While they didn’t break up, the relationship went from happy and hopeful to distrustful and disconnected. They started fighting a lot. This went on for several months. Then, during a recent fight, he finally admitted something.

He finally admitted that he actually had not been planning to propose… but that if they just kept dating for another year or two, it might eventually happen.

That was it. The relationship fell apart after that. There were tears from both sides.

While it would be much more interesting to tell you some dramatic story about how she caught him in bed with her her brother and her best friend and clocked him upside the head with a Grammy Award… nothing that dramatic happened.

It really was just two people – one of whom wasn’t quite as honest and loyal and committed and non-embarrassing as he could have been – breaking up over the course of a few months.

    Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like having the ‘are we in this for the long haul?’ conversation after just six months is a bit rushed. I think you make it clear on the first date that you want a serious long term relationship, and then once a year has passed and you know you want to marry them, you have the convo. Asking someone if they are into you enough to marry you after six months is enough to scare most people off.

    I can’t be one of those people who say “Oh, She is still young and her career is hot right now she doesn’t need a man or marriage or babies etc…” because I got married at 23 and had babies and I just knew I was ready for that stage in my life and was with the right person. Yes her career is on top right now, but I can imagine that can get a little lonely. Taylor will get there, you definitely can’t force someone to want the same things you do.

    If he wasn’t unfaithful then yes, also, she has the right to value herself and want a future for herself, but asking a guy for a marriage proposal after six or seven months of dating is ridiculous to me, it’s too early.       I agree Amanda, he certainly didn’t need any exposure from dating Taylor, he is hugely known internationally and has been for years. Top stars clamber over themselves to work with him. He has always kept a low profile, there is only a few shots of them together, so he kept to his usual MO of trying to keep below the radar. If this is true though, he *, she never asked about marriage, only commitment, so there was no need for him to bring the P word up at all.

      A strong woman doesn’t go from man to man like they can’t ever be alone. And success isn’t money or fame. Happiness is and we have yet to see Taylor happy on her own for any length of time.       To get giddy over a potential proposal a few months in is a little silly, but asking where they’re headed so they can cut things short if they’re not on the same page is not!

      Also my cousin just got married after a year, so things this that do happen. Sad. Their music is so different, I don’t know about his personality but I wondered how they meshed in terms of interests.
