She said that [The Ex] is a placeholder, someone who she can always go back to when her relationships don’t work out. That way she never has to go through those godawful lows after a breakup. She knows that there is always someone waiting there for her who will make her feel wanted and special. As soon as she feels confident again, she’ll be back on the hunt and [The Ex] will get dumped again.

We wonder if The Ex would have welcomed her back so easily if they knew all this.

    Don’t know who, but my guess is the ex knows what’s up but he doesn’t care. He’s not being used if he’s enjoying it and has no real expectations. She’s being used too in that respect.
