Tamar Braxton has a bun in the oven! The “Love and War” singer announced she is pregnant during a March 13 appearance on Good Morning America. This will be the first child for Braxton, 35, and her record executive husband, Vince Herbert, 43.
Moments after Braxton’s announcement, the Alexander McQueen-clad mom-to-be shared the first picture of her baby bump on Instagram. “I have a love on top! I am pregnant!” Braxton (referencing Beyonce’s “Love on Top” anthem) told ABC’s Lara Spencer. “I feel great and greedy at the same time. This is the most I’ve eaten ever.”
Braxton didn’t reveal her due date on air, but she did hint that the big day is coming sooner than later. “I don’t have that many months to go,” she teased. “Almost there!”
The new season of Braxton Family Values premieres March 14 at 9 p.m. on WE tv. The couple’s spinoff series, Tamar & Vince, aired its season finale in December 2012. Braxton later revealed the show will be returning for a second season via her official Twitter account.
Tamar’s sister is Grammy Award-winning singer Toni Braxton.
Tamar Braxton’s husband, Vincent Herbert, is a wealthy record producer. He is the founder of Streamline Records, which is part of Interscope Records.
The couple was rumored to be divorcing last year among a myriad of business and financial and personal problems. They bickered constantly, there was talk that they were filing for bankruptcy, and they attempted to sell their huge Hidden Hills (Los Angeles area) mansion after living in it for only a year.
On their reality show, the couple was seen dealing with the issue of having children. Vincent wanted children and Tamar didn’t because she wanted to focus on her singing career.
Since Tamara is now pregnant, perhaps the couple was able to stop their constant bickering and are now coming together for the sake of the child.
Tamar’s skin has gotten much lighter over the years. At the end of 2012, she responded to rumors about skin bleaching and plastic surgery by saying:
“I just want to know what time do I have to do that?” she told [Bossip]. “If you really think about it, we’ve been shooting ‘Braxton Family Values’ for two years and then in between that it was ‘Tamar & Vince,’ and now we’re back into production with ‘Braxton Family Values.’ So when did she change her face? I just think I grew up and I don’t look the same that I did when I was 19. I don’t think any of us do.”
Tamar’s husband Vince came to his wife’s defense not only saying she is beautiful as is, but also providing a bit more of an explanation as to why her skin has caught people’s attention.
“Actually, Tamar has the same thing that Michael Jackson had.”
Braxton clarified her husband’s statement, saying she has vitiligo, but quickly changed the subject.
OK. Well, if she is bleaching her skin – or doing anything else that might be unhealthy – we hope she stops and puts the needs of the baby first.
