I agree that Suri’s eyes kind of look like Tom’s but here’s what I’ve always wondered: Back in the day when Tom was married to Nicole, they were on some talk show wherein Tom said he had a low sperm count which was why he & Nicole adopted. Isn’t it true that to produce a blue-eyed child, at least one parent must be blue-eyed and the other carry the recessive gene. Some Mendel-and-the- peas thing I vaguely remember from school. And the photo in the blind has a vivid blue iris. I think that might be a clue to Suri’s parentage.
I don’t think so. If my memory from human heredity class serves me correctly – if both parents had one blue eye gene and one brown eye gene (BrBl and BrBl), they would both have brown eyes because brown in dominate. However – if they both gave the blue gene to their offspring – the child could be blue eyed (BlBl). I think.
Okay. Brown eyed people can produce blue eyed kids. Blue eyed people (both parents) cannot produce brown eyed kids. Brown is dominant/blue is recessive. Brown eyed people can have a dominant gene and a recessive gene, or two dominant genes. Blue can only have 2 recessive genes. So, two brown eyed parents can produce blue eyed kids if each parent has both genes (dominant/recessive). Hope I’ve explained it. Now, I have green eyes, and I still don’t understand the “incomplete dominance” which occurs with green.
although my name is plant geneticist, i had to do a ton of homework involving human eye color genetics. if you look up eye color genes you will see there are more than two. as a matter of fact, they are still unsure of how many affect eye color. hope this helps, green eyes!

To produce a blue eyed child, they must receive a blue eyed gene from each parent because blue eyes are recessive. But someone can have brown eyes and still have a recessive blue eyed gene that can be passed to their offspring. I think both “parents” and Suri all have light eyes anyway so it doesn’t really matter. Now if the little one had brown eyes, that would make a big difference.
Neither of my parents have blue eyes and both my bro and are…so unless my mom screwed around with the milkman, it works…unless….*crickets chirp*

I guess all those eyes are, up to a certain degree, related… if not by blood, by the same gossip!
I don’t understand the speculation that Tom is not Suri’s real father. He didn’t have to have actual intercoure in order to procreate. With all the money and power that both he and the “cult” have, I’m sure artificial insemenation was an option and could have been kept from the public. Since William Mopather is related to TC, there is reason for a resembelence. You all have said it yourselves with all this recessive gene talk. Now do I believe Katie is a beard, of course… but I really don’t see Tom using someone else to impregnate his beard when there are other methods available that do not involve him actually having to have sex with a woman.
Well I don’t think she’s his because I think Katie was artificially inseminated with L. Ron’s frozen sperm after Tom married her so the scientologists would have a legal claim to Suri, since a father who is married to the mother at the time of conception or even by the time the child is born and whose name is on the birth certificate has all the legal rights of a natural father. Or my other conspiracy theory is that Katie was already pregnant and Suri is a few months older than they claim her to be, thus all the hiding after her supposed birth.

My daughter has blue eyes.
I have been wondering how this works.
My husband has blue eyes. His mom-blue his dad- brown.
I have brown eyes-my mom-blue my dad-brown. I still don’t understand it.
I have noticed that in some cases, if the first child is a girl, she will resemble the father more or from his side of the family.
If the the first child is a boy, he will have features from the mother, and from her side of the family.
I think Suri looks like Joshua Jackson. They undeniably have the same nose.
