[Blind Gossip] This very famous multi-hyphenate does it all. Singer, dancer, actress.

It’s a good thing our dark-haired beauty had options beyond singing, because musicians with whom she has worked with in the past would like to block out the memory of her voice.

She was one of the worst, most out-of-tune singer most of the musicians had ever heard! Lots of us have been around forever, so that’s saying a lot. In the studio, it’s easy enough to use Auto Tune, but before it was widely available for live performances, we had to scramble to make her sound OK.

[Her producer] would tell her that he was working with the musicians and engineers to “enhance” her voice… but behind her back he was ordering us to “hide” her voice!

The funniest part was when [her producer] would watch rehearsals for live shows. We would use a mix of pre-recorded vocals and loud instrumentals to drown her out as much as possible. Sometimes producers have to tell the musicians to turn it down so the singer can be heard, but in her case, the producer would ask us to play louder and turn up our speakers because he could still hear her!

Auto Tune is now widely used in live performances, so next time you see her perform live, she should sound fine. Just don’t be fooled into thinking that’s what her voice really sounds like!

    This is so JLo. She doesn’t have the pipes and what she does have is weak and mediocre. Always enjoyed her as an actress, though & wish she would make more films.

    I laughed while she as on ai she had some nerve telling people they can’t sing. Say what?!!dont be fool d. Don’t be fooled by the rocks I got. Her song.

    “Don’t be fooled” makes me believe that this is Jennifer Lopez. I just don’t automatically think “dark hair” when thinking of JLo, but I have always heard that she’s a terrible singer. She’s beautiful though. I think of Katy Perry and Selena Gomez as dark headed, but I think this blind is about JLo.

    No, I have never thought she was a good singer. I have no clue how she made it in the music world. I think she’s a decent actress, but I’m in a minority. She’s a good dancer too.

    Janet Jackson. There were articles back in the day that stated she couldn’t sing, so they played the music loud.

    SG can’t sing. That’s why she does all that hair/body theatrics onstage. She’s also the best lip-syncer around cos she sings along with backing tracks but her voice is a whisper. Her talents are honing her “victim brand,” while denying ROBUST PR, publicity stunts, & getting press/visibility by being JB’s gf for years & now Abel’s aren’t why anyone talks about her at all.

    I would guess J. Lo simply because even enhanced beyond belief, her voice STILL isn’t that good. And once I read a quote about her performing live – “This woman requires everything short of flying monkeys to get on a stage.” It was hilarious.

    There were rumors for years that she couldn’t sing, even leaked studio tracks of her are floating around…

    Whether she can sing or not, she’s been very savvy about marketing herself as a pop star, and by all accounts is a workhorse who has hustled hard to get where she is.

    Jennifer Lopez. If you read her lips while she’s singing you can tell the backing track is carrying her. Real vocalists put their whole body into the voice.

    Has to be JLo. When she sang with her then husband at some awards show, I couldn’t believe how nasally & tinny her voice sounded, especially compared with his beautiful voice.
