Alarm and Bagels

bagel cream cheese[Blind Gossip] Lilit Marcus – author of Save The Assistants: A Book For The Beleaguered – kept an email from an unnamed but apparently well-known Hollywood manager.

The note included the following requests: “My alarm clock rings funny – find one that’s more soothing,” and “Are bagels different with LA water? They seem different. Find out!”

NGL – the first request I sympathise with entirely and the second one, I’d probably enjoy finding out the answer to. In that position, I’d just call the Mythbusters.

    “Alright, walrus mush, start baking.”

Mind you, considering what we read on this site daily, the guy doesn’t even sound THAT crazy….

As far as requests go, especially in Hollywood, those two don’t sound unreasonable. If I were the assistant, I’d find them quite funny. If that’s the quirkiest email he kept, the manager must have been okay. I’m guessing the reason the bagels taste different is due to the hard water in SoCal, though I would think a bakery would use water softeners.

They need to find a real Jewish deli or bakery to get a good bagel in LA.

those really don’t sound too unreasonable; bagels and pizza always taste different to me when i visit LA, and I’m positive it is because of the water, because even the best bagels i have had there are different
