Serious Recovery

[BlindGossip] We have some good news about this talented girl for a change! After more than a year of lying and covering up and downplaying her add*ction issues, she is actually seriously working the steps toward getting better!

She is carrying The Big Book everywhere, and is reading it in between work commitments. She is also journaling a lot. She is up to Step 4, and is making a searching and fearless moral inventory of herself. Don’t expect any big announcements from her about her completing this step, though. Her only obligation is to admit to another human being (probably her sponsor) the exact nature of her wrongs.

We wish her continued success and peace.

Before you start cheering her recovery, though, you need to hear this: she’s off the wagon again.

The sad news was reported by RadarOnline on July 17, 2012:

Demi Lovato Still Partying Hard Despite Sober Claims, Says Source

The X Factor judge Demi Lovato has worked hard to regain her wholesome image, but has exclusively learned that the former Disney star is still partying hard behind the scenes.

Despite a stint in rehab for “emotional and physical issues” in November 2010, those close to Demi say there are a few habits she didn’t drop.

“Demi has really busted her butt to get her career back after the incident with the Jonas Brothers backup dancer and rehab and stuff,” an insider exclusively told

“But she’s not as sober as she’s leading everyone to believe and is still partying hard.”

A second source claims Demi, 19, isn’t as reckless as she once was with her partying and keeps it away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi and safe within her close-knit circle of friends.

“She’s really excited about the gig on the The X Factor and is using it as a platform to push her clean image on the public,” the source said.”So she really needs to keep her partying under control.”

Demi Lovato has a lot of nerve lecturing others on drugs. She talks openly about eating disorders and cutting as if those are her only issues, because those are considered “teen girl” issues, and play to her core audience. But her alcoholism and drug addiction are hushed up, because those are adult problems. Denial is Demi’s closest friend. If she doesn’t talk about it, the problem doesn’t exist, right?

The line “Despite a stint in rehab for “emotional and physical issues” in November 2010″ is a joke. It makes it sound like her problems are but a distant memory. The truth is that Demi Lovato has been in rehab THREE TIMES ALREADY THIS YEAR. But she won’t admit to that. Again, denial. If she doesn’t admit it, it didn’t happen, right?

Recovery is a difficult process, and we hope that Demi emerges from her current state of denial and gets back to sobriety soon. We’re not optimistic about the chances of her going back to residential rehab, though. She was brought onto X Factor as the “sober teen queen”. Any trips to rehab would mean time away from the show as well as admission that her image is false. She’s already making only 1/15th of what Britney Spears is making for the same gig. If Demi can’t pull in and keep those young, female viewers, she is not going to stay on X-Factor for long.

What if she’s just doing all of this as a show so you’ll stop writing those nasty blinds about her & she doesn’t want anything coming out? Just a thought lol

You know, I thought that stood for something else at first, but it actually meant The Big Book.

The first line of it’s Wiki entry describes it as follows; ‘Alcoholics Anonymous: The Story of How Many Thousands of Men and Women Have Recovered from Alcoholism’ (generally known as The Big Book because of the relative size of the first edition) is a 1939 self-help text on alcoholism, written by the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Bill W. & Dr. Bob.
