[BlindGossip] In this month’s Harper’s Bazaar, “The Real Gwyneth” (all the other articles you’ve ever read were about “The Fake Gwyneth”) talks for the zillionith time about how real she is and about how her life lessons can help the hoi polloi. While she is “discreet” about her dating life, she is willing to put at least one ex on blast for cheating on Her Royal Goopiness. From HarpersBazaar:
Gwyneth remains discreet about her previous boyfriends, who include Brad Pitt (they dated for nearly three years from 1994 and were engaged for six months) and Ben Affleck (in the late ’90s). She met Chris Martin in 2002, three weeks after her father’s death, and married him the following year. But she does confess that she knows what it feels like to be betrayed—”I had a boyfriend who used to cheat on me all the time. I was quite naive. I knew on a cellular level, but I bought his story”—while making it clear that infidelity is not part of her marriage.
Who is the ex-boyfriend in this story?
I’m going to guess one of her pre-stardom boyfriends. Either Donovan Leitch or Robert Sean Leonard. Donovan seems more likely as he was more of a party boy.
I actually had a friend who said she was hit on by Robert Sean Leonard while he was dating Gwyneth Paltrow. That’s her story, but it fits with the blind.
I would guess all of them after they had to listen to her for 5 minutes.

The story I heard from a development exec was that Brad walked in on Goop…shall we say…servicing a co-star in Sliding Doors.
Oh, okay. I didn’t know that. All I remember was that her dad (still around at this point) was going to direct the two of them in something but then they broke up. At the time, he said something like “I don’t want to make my kid suffer any more than she already has.” Anyway, it struck me as sounding like she was the one wronged.

Poor Gwyn. In the public’s eyes this chick can do no right. Well, I’m still not getting what the problem is with her website. Let’s see, restaurant recommendations for various cities in the U.S., guest contributions from her friends and colleagues on various subjects (I found Bryce Dallas Howard’s contribution on her experience with crippling post partum depression to be a very interesting read……) clothing and style trends, food/recipe ideas and how-to’s, and just random “you might like this, try it out” recommendations. She’s not hurting anybody, she’s not attacking anybody. Now, I don’t actively read her website since I’m not exactly in the same economic class she rolls in.
But, I have perused her site a few times, and I don’t get what the problem is.
I think people are just jealous. Most chicks will never look like her, have the body she has, attain the career she has, or roll in the kind of dough she has, being able to live the lifestyle she has. Yes, her website is geared towards people of a certain economic class ranking, and yeah, no doubt, she’s had some advantages in life, with a pedigreed upbringing in NYC. But so be it. Her life is what it is. If people don’t like it, don’t read it, right? I don’t know. That’s just how I see it.
Come on now, are you on her payroll? Please, don’t pull out the old “jealousy card.” People can legitimately not be a fan of a celebrity. Not everything is about jealousy. I don’t like her because I find many of her movies to be boring. I’m still annoyed that I paid to see “Bounce” in theaters, what in the world was “Sky Captain,” and do I even have to say “View From the Top?” I’ll give her Tenenbaums–she was fine in it, but that movie was amazing in spite of her, not because of her.
I get why she’s with Chris Martin, she’s the Coldplay of actresses. Not offensive, just bland and everything kind of feels the same after a while.
Still, I think BAffleck cheated on her.
Luke Wilson–the hint being “Her Royal Goopness”–she dated him while filming “Royal Tennenbaums”.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was all fabricated. These types of things in interviews always smack of “hey, I’m just like you!”, in order to make these out of touch celebs seem more relatable.
Also, as much as I dislike her, Goopie looks gorgeous in that photo!
Really? But that photo is so photoshopped. It doesn’t even look like a real person to me. It looks like a wax figure or a cartoon person.
Aside: I’ve seen photos of Goop and Angie up close and unshopped (and I guess sans Botox because if they had Botox during those photos then it wasn’t working!) and though there is no denying they look good, both have a LOT of wrinkles. Much more than the public is led to believe. Much much more.

Who DOESN’T cheat on Goop? Ben Affleck surely did. Chris Martin, her husband, surely does (with Nat Imbruglia and Kate Bosworth among others). Everyone knows Goop is cheated on.
I’m guessing this interview about Goop’s “discreet dating life” is either a veiled threat to Chris Martin to STOP cheating on her or a PR setup for when they announce their divorce and Goop will go on and on about how she had no clue her husband was cheating on her….she was thrown for a loop. It had happened to her before when she was “naive” but she had thought she learned from it. yadda yadda. In other words, trying to elicit sympathy from a public that views her as an elitist, arrogant snob. Which she is.
Goop knows how to play the game.
