[BlindGossip] More than one person in this family has achieved fame and success in the music industry, and several others have been television regulars. One of the members of the family recently passed at a very young age. While it is usual for families to ask for privacy when they are in mourning, this family is doing everything they can to cover up the cause of de*th. It turns out that several members of the family have had similar struggles and they loathe the thought of having to discuss it in public.

Leslie had starred in the reality series House of Carters along with her siblings. She was an aspiring singer, and her song “Like Wow”, was featured on the “Shrek” soundtrack in 2001.
She died suddenly yesterday in upstate New York.
We knew that Leslie was having a problem with drugs. TMZ is now reporting that the drug was Xanax., but our source named a different drug. Rather than speculate as to which source is correct, we will wait for the toxicology report.
Leslie had been getting help for her addiction to drugs, and we were sad to hear of her passing. She was a beautiful, sweet, and talented girl, a devoted sister, and a new mom.

Leslie Carter was battling an addiction to prescription medication in the days before her death… and family members believe she died as a result of an overdose.
Sources close to the “House of Carters” reality star tell TMZ … the 25-year-old sister of Nick Carter had recently moved from Canada to Upstate New York to live with family members while she attempted to kick her addiction.
We’re told family members had attempted to rid the home of any prescription medication — including Xanax – and were hopeful Leslie was on the road to recovery.
Sources say family members believed Leslie would be OK to stay alone in the home for roughly an hour yesterday while they ran errands … but when they returned, Leslie was unconscious.
Officials were called to the scene … but Leslie could not be saved.
We’re told Leslie’s 1-year-old daughter was not at home with Carter at the time of her death.
Both Nick and Aaron Carter have sought help for addiction and substance abuse issues in the past.

You can’t overdose on Xanax. You only die if you’re drinking or something else with it.

Um, I’m going to say Leslie Carter. Her single, Like Wow!, was in the end credits of the first Shrek movie; her brother Nick is in the Backstreet Boys and Aaron is a singer and actor.

What “several” Jacksons were ever television regulars? Janet was on Good Times a million years ago, but that’s it. The Osmonds seem like a much better fit.
Oh, also, Michael’s cause of death is pretty widely known.
To be fair, she was also on Different Strokes. But yeah, TOTALLY not the Jacksons.
You know it could very well be the Jacksons. They had a brother who died very very young, the twin of Randy I think. And in the 70′s the Jackson 5 were regulars on the Ed Sullivan show and so many other variety shows from that time. Not to mention the fact that they are a very musically inclined family.

I hope this family and the individuals who are ‘struggling’ get whatever help they need. If privacy helps them deal with whatever is going on, so be it. I just hope that they aren’t using privacy as an excuse to ignore a larger problem.

This seems the most likely since she was 25 and there is no cause of death listed and no announcement of an intention to find one – leads me to believe it is known and being hushed up.

Why do I feel this is the Cyrus family??? Billy Ray, Miley, Trace and the sister (she’s a drummer) have all had more than mildly successful forays in the music business. Miley, Billy Ray and Noah all acted.

The Osmonds is a good guess, Maries son passed away at a young age. You couldn’t say Michael Jackson was young. Also the reason he died has not been covered up, everyone knows what happened.
Everybody knows what happened to Marie Osmond’s son too. Cause of death was suicide, and it was never covered up.

MJ died in 2009, and his cause of death is now very well known.
I realize these things are subjective, but calling someone who is fifty years old, as MJ was when he died, “very young” is a serious stretch.
This is so sad, I read the BI earlier and then I read on DListed about that and given the fact that they wanna keep the cause of death to themselves rang the SOLVED bell on this one.

Def Leslie Carter. I’m wondering if the dark family ‘secret’ isn’t sexual abuse. I remember hearing rumbles of Nick Carter being abused by Lou Pearlman. Maybe Aaron/Leslie were subjected to the same thing…especially being from a family trying to make it in the music biz/Hollywood. That would be the ‘secret’ the family loathes talking about. Maybe Leslie committed suicide?

Xanax?? It’s hard to imagine that being the cause of an overdose. That is a very mild drug that doesn’t stay in the body long. That can’t be right.

Xanax. I guess she used that to come down off the meth? Meth is super hard to get off of. My ex was a tweeker and it was hell for him. And that was 10 years ago and his body is still messed up from it.
