[BlindGossip] This very successful television host has a boyfriend. Before the host became very successful, they were both just getting by financially, and decided to give themselves a hand up by engaging in some shady dealings a few years back. The host orchestrated a scheme where the boyfriend would befriend and hopefully “marry” an aging female star. Both of the men are charming and quite manipulative, so it isn’t surprising that they managed to find an appropriate target and zeroed in on her. Sure enough, when she passed away, she left most of her estate to her gay husband. The money provided financial security to the host and the boyfriend, and they are still a couple to this day.

Maybe because it was a marriage of convenience? Still, as you point out, the quotes don’t make sense.

One other guess – Elizabeth Taylor was supposedly very close to her manager Jason Winter, who is gay, before her death, and he was rumoured to be in the will. But her death is probably too recent for this story.

I thought of them as well, but Elizabeth tweeted he was just a friend when all those rumors started. Plus I heard her money may have went to AIDS foundations and research.

It just says host so Ryan Seacrest, Anderson Cooper qualify – although I don’t think it’s either of those two guys. I think it has to be someone older. It could be any news anchor, sports show host, talk show host, reality show host. Lots of them out there.
Anderson Cooper is the son of Gloria Vanderbilt. Money is not, nor has it ever been a problem, for him. And he still works hard. And his hair is perfect. *sigh* I love him.

According to Wikipedia, Mark Harris stated on Howard Stern’s show that “he had spent all but $100,000 of the money left to him in Raye’s will, from an estimated $3 million. He also revealed that he had suffered two heart attacks and was living in New York with one of his adult daughters.”
Doesn’t sound like he’s supporting a gay lover from this.

I have to admit that I first thought of Carson Daly, although I’ve also heard he’s actually pretty nice….Come to think of it, maybe that’s not such a hot guess afterall, since I think he’s also the subject of a fairly-recent blind item about some anonymous charity work and advocating on behalf of the homeless. *But could someone this altruistic start out with such low-down and manipulative intentions?
