[NationalEnquirer] Which iconic Oscar-winning actor/director may be suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer’s? The star recently had a meltdown at a Hollywood restaurant when he couldn’t find his cell phone to call his wife. Turns out he had accidentally tossed the cell into the men’s room toilet!

Robert De Niro: Oscar actor,he directed several movies and he’s iconic
Is he married?
Iconic = Clint Eastwood.
Agreed.
Must be Clint Eastwood.
Definitely Clint Eastwood
“A man has to know his limitations”.
a true sign of mental trouble: Eastwood wants to do a remake of A STAR IS BORN with Beyoncé
Yes. and you will deal.
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Not Clint!!! Please let it not be him!
Gosh, got a little overwrought there.
I agree; this is unfortunately the first person I thought of and–if true–is a true tragedy. Clint Eastwood is a genius and any bad news about him makes me sad.
1000% it.
The hardest time is when the person is still functional and he is still alert enough to be angry/scared/defensive at the signs of his own mental demise. Very painful…
I agree. Its a horrible disease.
There was a blind about this a month or so ago …the actor kept forgetting their lines on set. So not Clint if it’s the same person. I’m going to guess Al Pacino whilst hoping it isn’t
…forget that, Al Pacino has never married. So de Niro
but has de niro directed?
He directed The Good Shepherd. And A Bronx Tale.
I still think it’s Eastwood, though.
..”forget that” is me refering to my first comment which is still in moderation. Most guesses for two other recent blinds about an Oscar winning actor showing signs of Alzheimer’s were for de Niro and Jon Voight
Clint is the most likely. I will throw out Warren Beaty as well. Sad, no matter who it is.
However it is..poor guy
I’m going to say Michael Douglas. The word “meltdown” might reference the nuclear reactor meltdown in the movie “The China Syndrome”, in which he starred.
Michael Douglas hasn’t directed any movies though
is this related to that other blind?
Why He Can’t Remember His Lines
[CDAN] This aging Academy Award winning actor is having trouble getting parts for the first time in his life. Not because there are no offers, there are lots, but our actor cannot remember his lines and is showing first stage signs of Alzheimer’s.
I was going to guess Clint until I was reminded of this. I think it’s DeNiro. How sad.
I thought this person was Jon Voight?
So terribly sad no matter who it is. I really don’t want to know……dementia is so cruel.
yes, very sad. Do you think this is related to the other alzheimers blind from a while back?
how about Mel Gibson?
Clint. So sad.
Warren Beatty
Clint, Warren, and Robert Redford all get my vote. Unfortunately.
Very Sad! Terrible disease! Thinking it is Clint, saw him in Carmel couple of months ago& he looks like he could have it.. He just seemed different, they can get a look on face of confusion.. Something in the face just seemed different to me! He still Rocks!!
take back my mel guess,I reread the blind..this person is married
redford, gibson, di nero all divorced
the only thing douglas directed is an episode of streets of san fran 30 years ago
only 2 left of the guesses eastwood and beatty
Redford is married to a German woman
DeNiro is still married to Grace Hightower. They never divorced and even renewed their vows after they had filed for divorce and got back together.
i think it might be clint eastwood for his age, etc…and that he’s mainly a director now. but i hope not because i love him and love that he’s still doing so much! reminds me of my dad.
martin scorsese is also divorced, not him either
iconic makes me think of the Al Pacino posters of Scarface, is there anything more iconic than that?
I was going to say Jack Nicholson but the married part has thrown me.
Hey I am not a sensitive person but who wrote the headline. it’s kinda uncool yo. reading the headline, you think that the person did something uncool… but if it was from alzheimers… then it’s uncool to imply that what the person did was uncool. people with alzheimers … especially early onset often throw what seem to be ‘tantrums’ but its because their scared … imagine having lunch and then suddenly not know where you are or what you’re doing. someone change the headline pleaaase
ron howard….wish it wasn’t any of them though
He’s a little young to be showing signs of dementia, surely?
I think they would have made a point of saying early onset dementia/Alzheimer’s. Dementia/Alzheimer’s are awful, awful diseases. Early onset is even worse. And when you know you have it…sad. My dad has it and the few times he’s mentioned that “he’s forgetting things” it breaks my heart. To know something’s wrong has to be the worst. Whomever it is I feel for him.
Oh! This thought makes me want to cry. Not that the others listed aren’t lovely people but “little Ronnie Howard” has been such a part of American pop culture his whole life and he seems like a really cool, down to earth guy.
the only other I can think of is woody allen
Sorry if this is posted twice, unsure what happened to first… Is whoever the source is for this article 100% sure that the phone didn’t just fall out of his pocket or something? The key word is “accidentally”. If he is iconic, he is likely to have a lot of contacts mad at him if their numbers became public and it is frustrating to lose your phone anyway.
Is it an almost tongue-in-cheek reference to a forgetful person? It is using a medical condition to turn quite a normal situation into gossip and rumours. I do not like the inference or phrasing of this one.
I am not sure what this has to do with Alzheimer’s, I couldn’t keep track of my phone when i was 15. How many of us search for our keys when they are in our other hand or our pocket.
The Mayo Clinic’s website advises that “early onset” Alzheimer’s is considered to begin before the age of 65.
Clint Eastwood’s age: 81
Woody Allen: 76
Warren Beatty: 74
Robert Redford: 73
Michael Douglas: 67
Robert De Niro: 68
Ron Howard: 57
Regardless of who this blind item might reference I offer my best wishes to them and to their family.
The blind says the early stages of Alzheimer’s not early onset.
Ok. The “iconic actor/director” is making me think Clint Eastwood. I know some were thinking Deniro, and even though he is my favorite actor, I would say Eastwood is more…iconic(y) than Deniro. Or maybe it’s because I would HATE for it to be Deniro. Whoever it is, I hope they stay as well as they can. Terrible.
I think Clint Eastwood is the only name mentioned that cares enough about his wife to get upset if he couldn’t call her.
Not really a convincing sign of early onset Alzheimers. Maybe just a plain ole meltdown? Dropped the phone in by accident, worried about it being stolen, that kind of thing?
Yes this could very well be denial
That was my first thought too when I read this.
My thoughts exactly.
I should have mentioned early onset with my ron guess..
deniro is divorced, this blind mentions “his wife” he doesn’t fit the blind
very sad for whoever it is and their friends and family.
The blind doesn’t state early onset of Alzheimer’s, it states early stages, unless some of you are referring to an earlier, possibly connected blind. I think it’s Clint.
deniro and redford are married, thanks for the correct info, sorry i posted wrong about them
does anyone think the phone in the pic is a clue?
it is a motorola razr (pronounced razor)
eastwood played dirty “HARRY”
sound alike hairy…need a razor
