Who from “That 70s Show” is a C-list actor now? Hmm.

  • Ralphie

Maybe someone who was real popular in the 70s so she is hoarding his memorabilia? Or an actor from That 70s show?

    Topher Grace?

This doesn’t sound right. A true hoarder would never let them clean up her place every month. Every watch that show Hoarders? Those people will not let go of anything!!

I’ve watched it. Those individuals have my sympathy, regardless of how icky it can get. But she may have laid down the law in terms of what the cleaners can and cannot touch. They could clean the basics and maybe get somewhere with the collected items but as soon as they leave, she returns to her habit of creating chaos.
But if true, this son must be very vain to not realize that her issues are separate than his UNLESS this is the way he had to grow up. Then he’d feel as if the “dirty” secret was his as well and the shame he carries would drive him to keep this as private as possible.

I feel for these people too. It just completely takes over their lives and if they have children living in the house, their lives are really messy also. They know in their heads that they need to get rid of the stuff but they just can’t bring themselves to do it. Not without major therapy anyways.
I saw one show I where this lady could not even use her bathroom. She showered at the gym or outside. In her kitchen the pile of stuff was so high that she was level with her very top cupboards when in that room.

The son may not have grown up this way since these people don’t seem to have always been this way – some traumatic event usually starts it . But you are correct that if he did he would definitely feel more shame. Maybe it would be easier just to move her out of the home

Moving her out would be one solution but her compulsion would follow wherever she went – and IF she agreed to it, she could never part with all that she’s already hoarded. I’d imagine two homes world work but after some time passes, the new place would become just like the old.

If she is a hoarder, the mother and actor son should not be subject to public ridicule if the “secret” gets exposed. She needs help.

This does sound weird. If they get rid of everything, how does she get it all back? And what’s so desperately shameful about this? If it were true, it’s odd, but not devastating. Hell, come clean my house once a month!!!

I don’t know why but Seth Rogen jumped into my brain as I read this.

but that’s what hoarders do, if you take their stuff and they don’t get help for their condition…

they just keep hoarding with more new stuff.

i once had a friend who own mom was a borderline hoarder. not a lot of clutter, the house was alway neat and presentable, but she just couldn’t let go of things. she paid, and probably is still paying for storage rental for a lot of crap. but the funniest thing was when he was helping her move in the 90′s and found a jar of mayo in the pantry that had expired in 1978! the move was about 20yrs later 1998. who lugs an unopened jar of mayo from the 70′s around! too funny.

Josh Duhamel? He started and was popular on All My Children. Aston Kutcher, Topher Grace?

  • GoesInCircles

    I’ll say Topher Grace.

  • JeansAddiction

Jumping on the Topher Grace bandwagon. He definitely went from tv to C-List film actor. And I think referring to items from the 70s was deliberate. In any event, if true it is sad. But perhaps he should consider using the money he expends every month to get her counseling instead of for the cleaning, otherwise the cycle will just continue. Like with an alcoholic. Throwing out the booze does not solve the problem. Just postpones it.

Yeah, I saw “Hoarders” a few times. One person had accidentally killed a couple of cats, which they found in the piles of debris.

The first name that popped in my head was Jason Lee. He’s a scientologist. Would they help him, monthly?

    • FamousPeopleDoStupidThings

If Lee’s expressed doubt regarding a continued association with the cult, it’s a guarantee he’s been threatened with claims that his private matters will be fully revealed.

I can’t answer you regarding if they’d help his mother by providing a cleaning service. They handle their celebrities with kid gloves so it’s possible. More likely though, they’d try hard to recruit her into the fold with the claim that becoming a member would solve all her problems.

    Rob Shcneider?
