Seriously though, that’s quite a sacrifice to make. His personal life must bow to his now unsuccessful career. Not only is that mixed up, one negative reinforces the other. It’s a bad recipe. Focus on the work, man, and everything else will fall into place again.

I hate to say this, because other people are involved, but I kind of hope his next project fails, just to prove that going back into the closet is no longer acceptable or at least very cowardly!
I agree on all 3 counts. Mike Meyers should just realize that he’s lost relevance, not because of his sexuality, but because the general public is so over Austin Powers type movies. He should just get a new film that is different. I feel especially bad for the beard; although it’s my understanding she’s been his “girlfriend” for a while. So, maybe she’s being well compensated for it. I hope it’s worth it.

I think this is Tom Arnold, he was married to Roseanne and converted to Judaism; mishegas is a Jewish word for a crazy man. He recently got married in Maui, and has several projects in post production including Happy Saver with Michael Cera.
“Mishegas” is a reference to Mike Meyers’ “Coffee Talk” skits on SNL where he would pretend to be an older Jewish woman. He’d throw in Yiddish words like farklempt or mishegas. These skits were super popular .. even Streisand and Madonna loved them. Tawk amongst yaselves!

There was an article in Entertainment Weekly after his last movie tanked on what a complete a-hole he is to work with…what a shame…doesn’t he realize he further makes himself a joke (and not in a good way) when the marriage is clearly part of some crass calculation for profit…people want to think funny people in movies are likely fun to hang around with in real life…they don’t want to think they’re closet-case jerks who are impossible to get along with on set and who got married for very serious, actually kind of sad and pathetic reasons.

When I read about Mr. Myer’s recent nuptials in the media, I thought “huh?” and “what the” and “this makes no sense,” etc., etc., and so on and so forth.
Then I read this blind and suddenly the clouds have lifted from Mount Kilimanjaro and everything is now crystal-clear. It’s all a farce to revive his all-but-dead career.
I hope it was worth it, Mr. Myers.
Just to be clear – its not that his career has really flopped – he hasn’t been doing alot. Sure the Love Guru sucked (and that was probably three/four years ago) – and a bad miscalculation. He has been part of the successful Shrek franchise et al – and has fairly kept low. Been toying with a 4th Austin Powers (which I think is a mistake also but could be fun – the first two were great but in the third there just wasn’t that much chemistry with Beyonce, when there was Elizabeth and Heather – and there were still good bits in that one).
I never even thought about his sexuality – he was always married. So it makes no difference to me. But if he has equated whatever he thinks is going on has something to do with his image – he’s dead wrong. Just be funny – and I agree, lay off the potty jokes.
