They are Plotting a Mutiny

BlindGossip – The other cast members have finally gotten wind of the direction that the show’s leadership may be going, and it’s not pretty. They are threatening a full-scale revolt. Not only do they not want this replacement as their boss, they don’t want her as part of the cast at all. So the rest of the cast is teaming up to force her out. Now that all the cards are on the table, it will be interesting to see if there are any obvious shifts in the cast dynamic that we, the viewers, will be able to detect. The crew may even be planning some split screens so that we can view every angle of every upcoming battle.

Well following the guesses on the other blind, this completely sounds like it might be Elizabeth from The View, more than Glee or anything else.

“View every angle of every upcoming battle” – The View is about presenting multiple points of view…

    • Shannon77

The blind does not imply the person is already on the show. Could BaBa WaWa be bringing a new or old cast member on to replace her and head the show…like Rosie O’Donnell?

  • LooLoo

Ha ha, not even blind, really. Why would they choose her, though? I guess she would be better at the job than Whoopi, but still…

    • AshCakes

BETTER AT THE JOB THAN WHOOPI?!?!?!?! You have got to be kidding me, Elizabeth is so close minded, Whoopi at least gives an objective opinion of most matters.

      • LooLoo

I find Whoopi very close minded, so yes, I think she would be better. I had a lot of respect for Whoopi before she took this gig. I think she has proved herself extremely unintelligent on the show.

      • kelno

I don’t think Whoopi thinks before she speaks. Case in point, when she said Polanski didn’t really “rape, rape” that girl. I didn’t know there were levels of rape, especially when a child is the victim.

      • La Llorona

Whoopi’s problem isn’t that she “doesn’t” think, because she does; but it’s that she tends to ONLY think about defending her friends. Case in point, when she defended Mel Gibson’s crazy ass rants, or Ted Danson’s Blackface. Normally she seems to be reasonable except when it comes to the people she surrounds herself with. If they get criticized, she feels the need to go into defense mode. She’s like one of those chicks you encountered in High School who would always scream “DON’T MAKE FUN OF MY FRIENDS”, when in reality, everyone is just pointing out the obvious.

And anyway, I think she suffers from a serious case of poor interpersonal perception. Everyone seems to notice these people for their shortcomings, except her.

      • arentyoucute

Wow, proof that we don’t all see things the same way. Frontal lobe perception is way scewed on this one LoLo. Sorry. I find her very well spoken. There are a couple of things she has said that I don’t necessarily agree with but was good to hear her view as she is quite eloquent at making her point. anyways…

      • TxRdr

Whoopi is a disgusting individual. She can’t keep her mouth shut long enough to cover that up. She ruins every show she is ever on. She and that Behar lady should go away and stop cluttering up the airwaves with that stupidity they spew.

  • Miss Ellie

    This sounds like The Office.

  • Nameless

Reading this and the related item together, I am convinced it is not a scripted show (drama or comedy) and maybe not even a ‘reality show’ because it says ‘television show’. Also, the idea of using a ‘split screen’ to show more of the action wouldn’t really work on a serial show. I’m leaning towards The View, as so many in the other discussion mentioned, but something is telling me there is another very obvious possibility for this that we missed before. I’ll try to pay more attention to the schedule this week to figure it out.

    • Cuddlebutt

I think the view also. Didn’t they already use the split screen with Rosie and Elizabeth’s showdown? Methinks that’s a clue!

      • h00bydice

Question: I know nothing of these things, but is E. Hasselbeck really a seasoned enough media person to take the helm of a show like The View??

I stopped watching that show a long time ago, when Star Jones kept prattling on & on about her wedding – so, I have no idea of it’s progression. It just strikes me as odd that pomposity could so easily translate to business mogul. Mehhh…but, then there’s Donald Trump. Guess I just shot my own argument in the foot!

      • h00bydice

Let’s see, Walters has how many years in tv news anchoring/hosting and producing? Any of those credentials apply to Hasselbeck?

      • Jen in NY

Since when do you need to be well read to host The View? It’s not The McLaughlin Group, it’s The View! That said, both Rosie and Whoopi had huge careers as comedians and Rosie had her own hugely successful talk show. What has Elisabeth done before The View? I think she hosted a fashion program on cable and of course did Survivor.

      • h00bydice

I guess I just need more information b/c, if we’re merely talking about 1st chairing, fair enough – my cat could do that. If, on the other hand, Hasselbeck is slated to take over Walter’s real job as behind-the-scenes producer, writer, etc, then I’m right back where I started…how on earth does she qualify to do so?!?!?!

  • boop

    The View, Hasselbeck
    clues = “we the viewers”
split screen = Rosie and Elizabeth’s famous split screen fight

  • boop

    The View, Hasselbeck

  • Candi

I think it’s The View, as well. All the clues fit.

    • biskachoo

Who’s the new replacement? Really curious.

    • Don't Know For Sure

Me too. I noticed it said ” the viewers” and “view from every angle” in the clue. Intersting choice of words.

    • Kayla

I think it’s The View too. I know Whoopi’s contract was only 2 years and I heard she’s not going to renew it. I think they are referring to a new cast member to replace Whoopi and the rest of the woman are revolting against her. The way it’s worded “Not only do they not want this replacement as their boss, they don’t want her as part of the cast at all”, sounds like she’s not on the show and will replace Whoopi.

      • Ms NI

I wonder if it’s Kate Gosselin? How many times has she been on as a ‘guest host’ this past year? Granted, she was terrible at it, but I can’t help wonder if there hasn’t been some kind of deal between TLC and ABC (just like DWTS)?

The way I read it though, it does sound as though it IS someone already on there (because of the possible change in cast dynamics – if everyone on there was united in not wanting a new person, the dynamics would not change at all).

  • ffleur

Rosie quit The View due to a split screen used to record an argument between her and Elizabeth. I feel like “cards on the table” means something but I don’t know what. But I do think this is The View.
On another note, the illustration is quite cute.

  • 4six2

Poor J Lo. No one wants her…

  • this is absolutely 100% ‘The View’

  • Laura Palmer's Hooha

the only answer that popped into my mind is AI.

  • xxgatorxx

sounds like the view or SNL

  • aiak

‘The viewers’ .. that has got to be The View.

  • MizFabulous

The clues “the viewers” and “view every angle”…it HAS to be The View. Now…who are they looking at to replace Babwa?

  • bumbletucky

    BG virgin here…

but yeah, i dunno… the office? because the ship is already submerged to signify the show already too late to save

  • Rafael

Please Please let this be The View and please please let them be trying to Boot Elisabeth!!! That woman has been on TV long enough!!

  • Westie

Definitely The View. “Cards on the table” must refer to those blue cards they all have with the questions for their victims … er … guests. Everything in this blind points to The View.

  • StepHo

I think it’s The View and my first instinct would be to say the new boss is Elisabeth, but I just can’t seen Walters passing the baton to her. What about Whoopi? She makes much more sense as a choice, or even Joy Behar.

    • lizzy1shoe

I think the part everyone is getting stuck on is that Barbara is the show’s executive producer along with Bill Getty. Maybe she’s planning to retire and make Elisabeth the new Exec Producer. Whoopi (or whomever if she doesn’t come back) can still be the moderator but Elisabeth would be the Boss.

  • Me again

“split screen” refers to the famous Hasselbeck/Rosie fight that caused Rosie to quit. This is completely the View. I can’t believe I got one!

  • mymys mama

i really had no idea who this was…however, reading what everyone wrote and reading the related article…and looking at that pic…im going with hasselbeeeaatch…

  • PhoebeS

Gotta be the View. Is it even a popular show anymore?

  • Nan

I’m thinking the changes in The Office. But I don’t know what female would be the new “boss” at their “work”.
    Hmmmmmm

  • I Love Dlisted

    Its the view
    the viewers
    split screen with rosie
    table
    not pretty-elizabeth hasselbak

  • Nooner

The pic shows 3 people “pushing” out a 4th person. This is how Elizabeth Hasselbeck lost on Survivor Outback. She was the last of her tribe and placed 4th. I can see the 5th person’s hand but it looks like this photo was cropped on purpose as 3 pushing out 1 person.

    Elizabeth and The View.

  • Dont Know For Sure

This makes me think that it’s someone new they are bringing on the View because it says they don’t even want her apart of the cast as if the person is not there yet. Or if it’s someone already there it says the person is a replacement (either Sherri. Elizabeth or Whoopi). Would they let Elizabeth be the new boss and she’s the youngest one on the show? That doesn’t seem likely. It might be either Joy or Whoopi (it sure ain’t Sherri).

  • CodyB

Gotta be the View. They are putting good faces forward “on-air” if this true.

  • Boo Boo

I love the sinking ship pic …the view

  • tbone

The Office…Mindy Kaling. She’s one of the writers on the show.

  • STEPHANIE

Elisab* Hasselback, although I don’t understand why Barbara and Bill would make such a horrible choice. This reeks of the conservatism that is overtaking America and Disney owned ABC. I will tune in to Whoopi and Joy who already can hardly contain eye rolling and quick looks to each other when Barbara or Elisab* rant or interrupt.

  • neely ohara

thinking maybe katie couric would take over for barbara walters, who just had heart surgery?

    • stinkweed

Interesting guess. Kouric hates working evenings, and the evening news can’t stand her. They’ve been trying to find a way to get rid of her since day one. Taking over Barbara Walter’s job would actually not be too far a step down.

However, the blind does say “force her out” not “keep her out”, so I’m thinking it’s someone already on the show. At least I hope so, as I can’t stand Katie!

  • Melicious

I’ve never wrote in before, but I think I’ve got it!

I’m sure that this is the view too. (the split screen thing is a dead giveaway!)

But I think that it’s Joy who is up for the boss position. I just can’t see them giving it to Elizabeth…lets face it, everybody loves to hate her. they want her around, but if they put her in charge, they’ll alienate too many viewers. They’d never give it to Sherri…because she’s an idiot. (and I mean that in the nicest way). Whoopi’s pretty new, I don’t think its her either. She’s already the moderator or whatever they call her. I think its Joy. She’s been there the longest. She has the best track record for not pissing Babwa off. I hope it is her. That would surely make Elizabeth and Sherri pissy (they always seem to butt heads with Joy) and perhaps there is a behind the scenes fued with Whoopi?!

    • kelno

I think you’re right. Everyone keeps ragging on Hasselbeck, but I don’t think Barb would give it to her, too polarizing to viewers (what few they have left). Joy has been around for a while and would be the one in line to step in. And, yeah, she’s not funny AT ALL…

  • Opie

The view for sure with the split screen comment, but they JUST started the season so I wonder when a shake up would occur. The “Not only do they not want this replacement as their boss” has to rule out Joy as she is the ONLY one who is not a replacement and she has her own show now on HLN so she is busy. Of course Shari is a BOR (box of rocks), who could hate Whoopie so that leaves Elisab*.

  • yoyo

At first I thought Glee because the blind says ‘gotten wind of the direction’ and the Glee kids are in The New Directions, but the split screen sounds like The View. Can’t imagine Lea Michelle getting a gig with on Glee as easily as one of the chicks could at the View. Barbara has to do something to go up against Sharon Osbourne’s new show. Maybe she’s firing everyone except Elizabitch and Whoopi and adding Sarah Palin and Kate Gosselin to the panel – that would be good TV (ugh).

  • Sleuth

Well on Larry King tomorrow night, Barbara Walters is doing what they are calling her “final interview”. Maybe there will be an announcement about her successor.

  • Evinsmom

This has to be The View. Back when the battle between Rosie and Elizabitch was happening, the whole split screen was a major issue and Rosie called foul on the show for using it. Well, if Elizabitch does take over, they can just change the name of the show to The Viewless!!

  • hopefulromantic

I’m convinced it’s either Glee or The Office, mostly because two females are allegedly stepping in: Gweneth Paltrow plays a new substitute teacher on Glee for a few episodes in November, which she takes over Mr. Schuester’s role.

Also, Portia Degeneres has been linked at the new boss on The Office.

    • Nameless

And how would either one of those shows be presented in split screen? I would hope that none of the well paid, professional actors on these shows would break character to roll their eyes at a cast member they don’t like.

  • Jen in NY

It would be crazy if they put Sarah Palin in charge. I’m trying to think of another outsider that, say, Joy and Whoopi would hate. Then again, maybe it’s someone that Elisabeth and Sherri would hate. Kathy Griffith? No, I’m pretty sure Baba can’t stand Kathy. I haven’t watched The View regularly since Rosie left, but I would tune in for Kathy.

  • amagod121

So it’s true, Hasselblech is going to replace Babawa. Sheesh, no wonder the other cast mates aren’t happy campers! I wonder if the show can survive such a change? I mean, Hasselblech is a very polarizing force, you either love her or hate her. Can they afford to turn off that many viewers?

  • arentyoucute

I think it’s the view and how bout if they bring in Kathy Griffin. That would piss some people off on the show. lol. I believe for as much bravado that is given for Barbara not liking her, Barbara is not dumb and knows what kinds of publicity that would bring. I secretly wish it was Meredith or Lisa they were bringing back. I miss the show when they were on. just sayin.

  • arentyoucute

Ok read it again, that would be scary if it is Elisabeth. ugh. It was wishful thinking that Kathy would come on the show as a host to stir poo up. :)

  • Geri

I think the Kate Gossling guess maybe right.I pray not but it could be.

  • Amarie

Just to be different…CSI:NY. Sela Ward replacing Melina Kanakeredes as the leading lady.

  • Boo Boo

Omarosa taking over for Donald Trump???

  • Boo Boo

I get the feeling this is about one of the talent shows , more than likely a dance show.

    • h00bydice

Funny you should say that, Boo, b/c I was just about to take this guessing game in whoooollle ‘nuther direction and say that this might be, So You Think You Can Dance, with controversy perhaps swirling around Mia Michaels. She often appeared to alienate the other judges on the show, with her caustic criticisms, so I’m thinking that her appointment, as head honcho, might very well cause a mutiny. I’ve also suspected that Mary Murphy disappeared recently b/c of her.

A while back, a blind talked about a show that misrepresented the true, financial nature of producing it to the powers-that-be. So, maybe Nigel Lythgoe needs to vacate his seat, as judge, and have it replaced with someone less costly.

  • westcoaster

What if it is Meredith Viera is coming back to the View to take over from Barbara Walters? Katie Couric is not exactly getting high ratings on the CBS Evening News and she was fairly popular on The Today Show, so maybe NBC has made her an offer? The only question would be who on the View would not be thrilled to have Meredith back on the show.

  • Lilly

First, it would be a great thing for The View to lose Whoopi. She can’t read the prompter, she miss pronounces words on a regular basis. I don’t think she’s a very bright person and I’d be glad to see her go.

I can’t imagine that The View would even consider giving Hasselbeck any sort of additional power. She is way too unlikable and comes across as rather immature.

The speculation I have read/heard is that ED Hill ex fox talking head is slated to take the helm from Whoopi.

  • Royal Eduardo

After the last 2 days of watching The View I agree with everyone that this is The View but I think the person the rest of the cast is ganging up on is Joy Behar. She has been on since the beginning and is really good friends with Barbra Walters. Plus she is hosting her own HLN show.

  • Asia1968

Even Joy and all her rehashed joking around seems to be the most well read, articulate and informed of the panel. If they lost Joy the entire panels IQ level would drop to that of sub zero.
