BlindGossip – There is a blog called PostSecret where people send in anonymous secrets and confessions in the form of a postcard. A current postcard reads ” The morning after you hit our 10-year-old daughter, we all stood there and watched as a fan asked you for your autograph.” The postcard is not embellished, and no other clues are given. Who could it be?

It sounds to me like one of the parents (who is some sort of famous) of the child hit her and it’s from the point of view of the other parent. In the reply they’re saying take your kid and get out of that situation, we’ll help you.

I read this a little differently – Maybe a celeb was careless and hit a child with a car, which may have drawn a crowd, out of which one person asked for an autograph while the child’s family watched. That’s how I interpreted it, anyway.

I thought that, too, but the card says “the morning after.” So some sort of hit (with a fist or car) happened and the hitter was asked for their autograph the next morning. That’s what’s throwing me off some.

Based on the line “we all stood there” – this could also be read as coming from both parents of the child – it could grammatically be construed as including the celebrity in the couple or not including the celebrity.
There is no need to insult. You could read it as someone who had a child who was hit by a celebrity and they are saying after you hit our 10 year old daughter……. Or it could be read as you were saying like the celebrity wife/girlfriend wrote it. But as another poster said, “the morning after” throws it off a bit if read the first way.
There’s nothing I like more than bringing politics into this conversation, particularly one that is about gossip. While this particular subject matter is unfortunate, it is a diversion from the loud-mouthed shouting that takes place on Fox News and MSNBC. Can I make a suggestion? Yeah, the postcard says that the celebrity hit the 10-year old. Hmmmm … well, my first thought was Brandy, though I’m not sure how old the people she killed with her car were. Also, according to Perez Hilton, she just settled her last suit from the accident.

This is just way too vague to guess. It could be anyone from someone very famous or someone in a small band that none of us ever heard of. Anything from sports, movies, music or tv. From what I can see on the site, you have to actually mail in a postcard and they put it on the site so I doubt the fish are clues, probably just the stamps the person had.
This sounds like Levi bagging on Sarah Palin. Alec Baldwin is probably the obvious choice here, but I’m thinking otherwise.

It seems to me that what seems to bother the parent most is the fact that fans were asking for his/her autograph. Perhaps it’s trying to point to the hitter’s hypocrisy. Perhaps it’s a talk-show host, or self-help celebrity such as Dr. Phil (although I’ve no clue about his kids), who should be ashamed of a fan admiring them after such behavior.
Maybe a sports star? Many of their fans are children.

I have no idea how this item could be interpreted to be something involving a car accident. It’s clearly a parent (likely mother) pointing out that the other parent is abusive, and the disparity between the abuser’s public and private personas.
It’s almost impossible to guess, as it could literally be any celebrity – actor, athlete, singer – with a young daughter. However, I’m guessing a) the abuser is male b) the parent who sent the postcard is tolerating the abuse, therefore likely to be someone who is afraid to leave their spouse, therefore probably someone who is not famous/successful in their own right. I would guess an athlete over an actor, as most actors seem to end up with someone who is also in the entertainment industry, whereas many athletes are married to “civilians”. But really, it could be anybody.

I suspect Hwood is full of cases like this – prob (hopefully) not all involving children but certainly wives, so’s, gf’s who are being abused by their famous ‘partner’ and regardless of whether they themselves have been in the business, they dont leave,money isnt the only thing that keeps them tied to these guys.
Men who behave this way are adept at instilling the sense that the treatment is deserved, that their victim is beneath anything better. They use the magnetism, charisma that makes women drool and fall for them, then after theyve worked at stripping away her self respect and confidence (telling her to lose weight even if shes already rail thin, repeatedly pointing out all of the faults that he has to tolerate) the physical abuse begins and by then shes incapable of seeing herself worthy of escaping. How surprising that men who abuse often have from ‘other’ psychological issues which they CANT control (OCD’s, paranoia) and turn to manipulation of others to compensate.
I hope the original postcard sender is a reader here and sees the promise of help and reaches out before its too late to save her dau from believing its the way she desserves to be treated.
Assuming the same person wrote both post cards, why would they tell the person who hit a 10 year old child to take the child and leave? It does not make any sense to me. Am I reading this wrong?
I think it is a friend telling the person who wrote the first postcard to leave the abusive relationship and to take the child. They will help with money, a place to stay etc

I can only assume that this ISN”T Heather and Richie. THe second note alludes to the fact that the woman is still with her since they said they would help. I did a bit of detective work and the 3 numbers on the second note card are 482. Likely the second note was sent in from Van Nuys, CA (zip code 91482). Do we know who lives in that area?
Its curious that the 2nd post card actually has postmarks on it but not the first one.
AA – I’ve noticed that some of them on that site don’t have postmarks. I always assumed that maybe those were emailed in, though I don’t know if that’s even an option.
possibly sent in an envelope that way no postmark WOULD be visible on the actual message part, just a thought, but I think the 2nd one was sent by someone who reads here because the first one was sent secretly, no ones going to mention over coffee, oh btw, finally told someone about whats going on, only…
So I think BG – you might have done a very good deed in posting that first one since it seems it may have caught the eye of someone the victim knows who is reaching out in kind.

I’m going to say that this is Rosie O’Donnell. She and her wife Kelli have a 10 year old daughter that is biologically Kelli’s only. She seems like someone with rage issues. It doesn’t have to be a heterosexual couple…
thing is if she’s Kellis dau only, then now that they’ve split, this dau wouldn’t be living with Rosie anymore and not falling victim to any kind of abuse from her. I cant remember the arrangement they have for their adopted kids but Id think Kellis own child would be with her. Viv was born in 2002, far from 10 years old. All 4 children are together with Rosie and Kelli visits, they are a family.
Rosie might have fueds, but not when children are involved, especially hers.
There was a picture in a rag awhile back when she was taking Parker’s arm and scholding him, but I don’t consider that any type of abuse. Kids need some disapline…
The stamp on the first one isn’t canceled, but on the second one it is.
“Take your 10-year-old and leave!” leads me to believe that the daughter is the mother’s only child. If there are more kids it would read ‘Take your kids and leave!’
After rereading this, it could be the mother that hit the kid.
I still kind of hope that this having been posted like this is somehow helping. The thing is – even if the event is past, the response WASN’T; the second card showed up after the first was posted here and I cant see that as a coincidence. Its ONE thing to post a confessional about somethign that is in the past but it would make no sense for the 2nd sender to respond similarly.

OMG! I see so much fear in these postcards. The 2nd card looks like it was sent by friends that are telling the original sender to leave/have courage/we’ll help.
What is so scary to me, is that the message (2nd card) had to be sent in secret!
If you are the friend, why would you need to offer help in secret like this? I understand the need for secrecy, but why not use plain old conversation?
Thats the very reason I am starting to think there is something hokey with these cards. I’m not so sure I believe them since you pointed out the obvious that a friend should contact the person and not send secret codes saying they will help.
I think the friend may have responded in this way because abuse can be a very taboo subject to bring up. From what is said it sounds like this has been kept top secret – the friend is reaching out to someone she suspects it is – but if she is wrong or the other person doesn’t want to take her advice then the postcard method won’t embarrass or make anyone uncomfortable.
