BlindGossip – This good-looking and award-winning male actor has always been known as being rather vain. That’s why it should come as no surprise that he asked the director to help him mask his weight gain (he is a good 25-35 pounds heavier than when he first landed the role). He is especially self-conscious about how he appears when filmed from the side. We don’t think he looks that bad with the extra weight (he has always been built like a tank), but the wardrobe person has fitted him with a men’s compression girdle to help smooth him out. Just don’t expect to see him unbuttoning his suit any time soon.
Mask…Suit…
Anyone for Christian Bale??
Bale,mr “i lose 20 pounds in a week”? and he never won award!
Christian Bale has won a bunch of awards, just not one of the big three.
Not to mention he dropped a lot of weight not long ago for a movie roll and don’t think he could gain it back plus more this quickly!
Russel Crowe? a Oscar winner who has trouble with fluctuation weight!
Matt Damon? Oscar winner and he said it was hard to lose weight taken for “the informant”
Leo Dicaprio? i don’t know he’s an Award winner but i read in August he ‘ll lose weight for the end of “inception” in november!
Who knows but I hope it covers his moobs too, nothing wrong with moobs but you dont really want your juicy mangos bouncin around.
I think this is Alec Baldwin. The “mask” clue could point to his role in The Shadow and “built like a tank” hints at him voicing Thomas the Tank Engine. Also, the whole BI sounds like someone on a TV show, not someone with a movie role issue.
Alec Baldwin is a great guess. I hadn’t thought of him, but the clues seem to fit.
My first thought was Sylvester Stallone.
Ummmm…not Stallone

I agree, Alec all the way.
That was my first thought as well.
Agreed! His character is always wearing suits too.
I was thinking Leo Dicaprio, but I think Alec Baldwin makes more sense given the clues.
Great Job!
Yep, Schwetty Balls for sure.
BG- the world “mirdle” is hysterical, that picture is disturbing. His package looks so…odd. I need some eye bleach.
I wish I could agree with you, but the “tank” clue ends up leading away from him. I just watched Beetle Juice the other day. That guy was not “built like a tank” in his early days, he was the definition of long and lean.
Agreed he doesn’t look bad with the extra weight as long as he’s wearing a good suit though!
Yeah, Alec. He’s so rocking the girdle these days. You can see that he can barely take a breath in any of his 30 Rock scenes. Crazy thing is: I like him better with a bit of chunk. He’s hotter than ever!
I agree with super sleuth – Alec Baldwin. The blind doesn’t say whether the role in question is film or tv, after all.
Sounds like Tom Cruise to me. Remember when he wouldn’t unbutton his vest or suit jacket a while back??
yep, the late night comics are joking are joking about his manboobs
it’s Alec. In NYC the costumers sometimes call the Mirdle “The Baldwin”.
“The Mirdle” is “The Baldwin”?! That is hilarious and humiliating at the same time. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
InTheBiz: I’ll go with your guess, cuz it sounds like you’re in the know!!! I think it’s ok that he cares about his appearance. Women love Spanx, men shouldn’t be excluded from using proper underpinnings!
Kelsey Grammer
Seth Rogen. He’s gaining the weight he lost back….
I was thinking Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones role), but I don’t think he’s ever won an award – I go with Alec Baldwin.
Come on people, you’re already on the internet, look it up! Harrison Ford has a bunch of awards, but no Oscar. He has a Golden Globe, but it depends if you would consider a recipient of the Cecil B DeMille award a “winner”.
I’m actually leaning towards one of these guesses that has lots of awards, but doesn’t have an Oscar or Golden Globe. Or else BG would have specifically said Oscar-winner or Golden Globe-winner… the vague wording there is unusual for BG…
Alec Baldwin. His suits are impeccable, but always buttoned. Self conscious dudes do this all the time.
Robert Downey. Suit = Iron Man
No, please no! But I guess it’s better he turns to wearing a Mirdle just to “look” thinner, than back to drugs to “be” thinner.

these are getting super annoying.
what are these?
In what alternative reality is a Baldwin good-looking?
Please let this be Tom Cruise.

Remember Alec in Beetlejuice? SO CUTE in his little plaid shirt and glasses. SO…SO…CUTE. And skinny.
Jon Hamm. All the way.
Suit = who wears a suit better than Don Draper?!
Tank = reference to him and the war.
Jon Hamm is on the slender side, though his suits make him look pretty buff. I doubt its him.
Nathan Fillion. He won a couple of off-brand acting awards. He’ll prolly get an Emmy for Castle next year. Joss Whedon called him a “hair actor” b/c he was so vain about his hair. And Nathan is a bit chubbier than he was in Firefly and Desperate Housewives.
Matt Damon. He really got heavier lately and he won an Oscar early in his carreer.
The Mask
Has anyone seen Jim Carey now a days? H.U.G.E.
I was kind of thinking this too. Plus the suit could be a reference to the santa suit he wore for Dr. Seuss Grinch movie he did.
isn’t it for “3 strooges” movie?
Too easy, Russel Crowe
Paging Val Kilmer…the Mirdle is calling your name
agree with Dreamyvelvet! hahaa
JEREMY PIVEN! Perez keeps making fun of his recent man-boobs
Definitely not Matt Damon, he gained weight for his role in the informant ON PURPOSE because the character was chubby. So why would he ask the director for help masking his weight gain? When I hear “when he first landed the role” I immediately think tv, because those are filmed in seasons over a period of years, unlike movies. I don’t think someone could gain 30lbs over the course of filming a movie – they put the weight on before for the role.
Definitely Alec Baldwin imo, 30 rock.
ps. even though he used to be thinner, he was still a ‘tank’ – tall, big boned. I think he has always seemed pretty vain too. (unlike matt damon!)
I like the Baldwin guess mainly because its implied that his wardrobe is suits. Whatever Baldwin is doing he can keep it up because he looks good on 30 Rock, IMHO.
how about chris noth? he’s filming satc 2 in new york, and is always wearing suits…plus, he’s always been built
