Even though cameras seem to follow reality stars constantly, there are still many incidents that never make it to your small screen. For example, it wasn’t until recently that you learned that this reality couple split up last year, but continued to act like a couple for the cameras for at least eight months after the breakup. With the encouragement of the show’s producers, they covered up the truth for the sake of ratings and dollars.
Here’s another example: It seems that one star of the same show was involved in a hit and run last year, but managed to completely skirt any legal ramifications. She hit a parked car, causing substantial damage, but continued on her way without stopping. Well, witnesses wrote down the license number – which was not difficult to remember as it was a vanity plate – and the police soon came knocking at her door. According to two different neighbors, the reality star began yelling “I did not stop because I’m a public figure! You can’t charge me, I’m a public figure!” Despite this admission of guilt, she was never charged with a crime, nor was it ever mentioned on the reality show. Fast payouts to the municipality and to the car’s owner may have had the effect of soothing ruffled feathers and rumpled fenders.

Those 2 are not the only stars, they have all 8 kids that people tune in for. Technically there are 10 “stars” on that show. I would bet my last dollar this is Kate. They are the only ones who split that people didnt find out about till much later.
The author is saying “same reality show” because the first paragraph reads like an example, which might have made some people think that the next paragraph would now illustrate the point of the unrelated first paragraph. It was for clarification.

a) They have been reportedly broken up since October last year (10 months ago but fits into the “At least eight month” category)
b) The eight months could also be a clue to the Plus Eight on their show.
c) TLC has basically been kissing Kate’s ass lately and it sounds like something they would cover up to make her look better. And their ratings have been relatively high throughout this whole divorce drama.
d)She recently called the cops to escort her from a hotel room to her parked car only a few hundred feet away so her screaming “I’m a public figure” sounds like it would fit this persona.

Kate Gosselin is the hit and run guilty party. This incident was reported by insiders last year but her fans swore up and down that if it had happened, there would have been a police report etc. If the interested parties were paid off, no it wouldn’t be public record necessarily.
