[Blind Gossip] It was late at night, but this very rich, world-famous athlete was hungry.
He went to a restaurant in a famous hotel/casino in Las Vegas just as it was about to close.
He had approximately twenty of his friends with him. He begged the management to seat them. The manager agreed after confirming that some of the staff were willing to stay well past the end of their shift.
A couple of hours later, the Athlete and his entourage had run up a bill of more than $20,000. The Athlete reached into a backpack and pulled out stacks of cash to pay the bill.
Now for our punch line: The tip that he left for his servers? $0.
No, there was no automatic gratuity on the bill for serving a large party. Yes, our Athlete completely stiffed them. No, the servers did not confront him. The poor servers had to go to the ATM and withdraw their own money to tip the busser his mandatory minimum.
For someone who carries around huge amounts of cash in a backpack and is very willing to flash his wealth, our Athlete sure is cheap!
