[Blind Gossip] Well, this could backfire!
A famous NFL athlete wants to tell a stadium packed with fans to come together and be unified with his team’s protests. One of his teammates disagrees.
F*ck, f*ck, f*ck. Love my team, love the guy, but man, this is some seriously stupid sh*t. Plus dude’s a f*cking hypocrite! He won’t even talk to his own family but he wants us to lecture our fans on the importance of unity and tell them what to do? Ha ha ha. Try linking arms with your own parents first. But seriously, I’m sick of this sh*t. I wish everyone would just STFU and play ball.
Roger that, big fella.
Player Lecturing Fans:
[Optional] Should teams be telling fans how to behave in the stands? What would you do if your team told you to join them in their protest?
Team: Green Bay Packers
Player Lecturing Fans: Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers – who does not even speak to his own family – wants to unify America!
As you may recall, while dating actress Olivia Munn, Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, stopped speaking to his parents and his brothers. Although Munn and Rodgers broke up, Rodgers is still estranged from his family.
Rodgers wants you to believe that all the kneeling and arm linking and political activity in which his team (and the NFL) is engaging is “not a protest. This is a unified demonstration of love and solidarity.” He wanted all the fans at the Packers game Thursday night to stand up with him.
The fans didn’t fall for that.
When the Star Spangled Banner played, a few fans mocked the players by linking arms and swaying back and forth… but 99% of the fans stood at attention, put their hands over their hearts, waved American flags, saluted, and sang along. Here’s a pic from that moment:
By the way, did you know that Aaron Rodgers reads BlindGossip.com? Yes, he does! So feel free to let him know what you think of the NFL controversy in the comments section! Keep it civil, people…
Back to football.
The NFL doesn’t seem to have a clue how to handle the mess they created. They are clearly feeling the fan backlash, but instead of shutting up and playing ball, they are now trying to appease everyone by engaging in more ridiculous actions with more mixed messaging!
For example, at their next game – in London – The New Orleans Saints will both kneel AND stand.
Drew Brees (that’s their quarterback) said in a tweet today, “As a way to show respect to all, our #Saints team will kneel in solidarity prior to the national anthem & stand together during the anthem.”
Say what now? You’re going to kneel on foreign soil to protest your own country? And you think that’s respectful? LOL. The man has clearly been hit in the head too many times.
No one in the NFL seem to know what they’re doing.
We’re sitting on the bench! We’re standing! We’re kneeling! We’re raising our fists! We’re linking arms! We’re hiding in the locker room! We’re hiding in a tunnel! We’re patting our heads and rubbing our tummies! We’re squat thrusting! We’re doing the hokey pokey!
Did you catch the clues? “Packed” with fans? “Roger” that?
We know that Aaron Rodgers caught those clues! Well done, Aaron! Now go link arms with your parents.
Congratulations to Klairebear for being first with the correct response!
