No So Happy After Baby

December 10, 2019 Blind Gossip

[Blind Gossip] This TV star and his wife welcomed a new baby to their family this year.

Congratulations to them!

However, there is  problem.

It is stressful enough to have a new baby in the house, but it’s even worse because of his wife.

What is going on with her?

[His Wife] has terrible post-partum depression. She seemed fine right after the baby was born, but then, a few weeks later, she started feeling really bad and behaving differently.

How is she behaving?

Some days she cries practically all day. If you ask her what’s wrong, she doesn’t know. She sleeps a lot, too.

Is she able to take care of the baby?

They do have help, so the baby is not being neglected or anything like that. The baby seems fine. I just feel bad for her.

Supposedly the husband is very aware of the situation and did manage to convince her to see the doctor. However, she only went once and is not on any regular treatment at this point.

I just want to thank and commend Blind Gossip for giving the help line number.
It’s not like I’ll be using it (I’m a man), but it is just so good to see. People struggle for lots of reasons. Giving the name and telephone of a support service could really help someone. Well done!

Arie Luyendyk and Lauren Burnham from The Bachelor? She had a baby in May and there’s been a lot of talk of her struggling recently.

I have no idea but I wanted to thank you for posting the contact info you did. You may be helping someone.

Looking back I may have had post partum. At the time I attributed it to exhaustion. I had no family around to help. My husband was extremely supportive. I used to scream at him on the phone while he was at work for no reason and I remember him saying once, “I know this is the hardest thing you’ve ever been through.” And it was. Sometimes a little bit of kindness goes a long way.

A little bit of kindness does go a long way. When my sister suffered from PPD, her husband walked out. You married a great man.

I really hope this isn’t Seth Myers & his wife. He seems to be such a sweet, genuine person.

My heart goes out to the wife and the husband. I went through 4 miscarriages and then get pregnant. It seemed strange, but I was severely depressed after my child was born – kept thinking of the other 4
children – because that is how I saw them. Prayers.

Kieran Culkin and his wife? They had a baby in September.

I’ve had PPD. It’s awful. It’s like being so empty but so heavy, at the same time. I wish her well.

Advice: the longer you leave getting help, the harder it is in the long run.

Yeah, I could see Joanna struggling with post-partum after having another kid, along with managing their new cable network. I wish her well if it’s her.

    Not so sure
I would suggest that she takes it easy and put some time for herself. I know it might not sound easy but I hope she takes care of herself

I have no idea who this is but my heart goes out to the whole family. Medication and counseling really do help.

The unfortunate thing is the depressed person is often the last to know s/he is depressed. With postpartum depression there is the added issue of feeling guilty for being sad when you have blessed with this wonderful new baby. I wish her all the best for her recovery!

My first though was Johnny Galecki, who became a dad this year, but he isn’t married to the woman he had the baby with.

Maybe Hillaria Baldwin, but honestly not sure. Whoever you are, please know you are not alone.

I had terrible post partum, especially after my first child. I was terrified. My spouse was not supportive. You have that going for you. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not of weakness. Please call a therapist. It doesn’t have to be the same one. Take a deep breath, ask husband for help going. Take a deep breath and let him make you go. The only way past this is thru it. Sending love & support. <3

This is such good advice! I would add: don’t feel ashamed over feeling this way. My spouse stopped talking to me & divorced me after I attempted to self harm from the depression (did not involve my sweet little baby boy in it at all.) I felt such guilt over it for many years, & didn’t want to even think about it. Depression is such a sneaky devil! It put me thru all of that, so please spare yourself the agony & shame & find a good and kind person who is qualified to talk to you.
