[Blind Gossip] It takes a lot of strength to stay sober, and this young performer is not as strong as she pretends to be. Despite having gone to rehab, she continues to relapse.
Right now she’s binging on diet pills and cocaine. Yes, she’s back into the powder. She calls it “snow”. She likes how “up” the pills and coke make her feel, and how they kill her appetite.
Will she be going back to rehab anytime soon? Absolutely not. She will continue to work. And promote her projects. And make money. And be famous. And fool her fans into thinking that she is a great role model. Because her team knows that those are the things that really matter most.
It’s Demi Lovato!
As you know by now, Demi Lovato overdosed yesterday and was rushed to the hospital.
There is some debate going on right now as to which drug/s she was using when she overdosed.
TMZ says that it was a heroin overdose. However, The Blast says that she was using meth!
So, was it opiods? Stimulants? Depressants?
Let’s break it down.
Demi Lovato has abused opiates (namely Oxycodone) in the past. Opiates include drugs like heroin, morphine, or hydrocodone. Supposedly, Demi’s friends already had the drug Narcan on hand “just in case.” That seems to indicate that they knew that she was currently using some sort of opiod. And either the friends or EMTs supposedly administered Narcan, which is usually used to treat opiate overdoses.
Meth is a stimulant, and Lovato has been known to abuse other stimulants in the past, including cocaine.
Demi Lovato has also been drinking again. Alcohol is a depressant.
So, it is entirely possible that Lovato could have ingested a combination of opiates, stimulants, and depressants. We know that she has used all three in the past to excess, so it would not be surprising to hear that she was using all three yesterday.
If you are expecting a clear and direct accounting of the “truth” as to what Demi Lovato took, what she has been using, or what happened yesterday, you might be disappointed. The situation is very messy!
The police seized a lot of drug paraphernalia at her home. However, her “friends” may have cleaned up first before the police arrived.
Demi refused to tell the EMTs what drug she had taken. Her purposeful withholding of that information may mean that she did not want them to know that it was a Class A drug like heroin or meth.
The EMTs supposedly administered Narcan, which is used to treat opiate overdose. However, her friends claimed that they also had Narcan, “just in case.” therefore, it is unclear exactly who gave her the Narcan.
The the nurse at the hospital reportedly also told the police that Lovato had meth in her system. However, meth is a stimulant and using it alone would probably not have resulted in the EMT’s administration of Narcan.
Lovato’s team/family is saying that it was not heroin. However, both Demi and her team/family have lied, lied, lied in the past about both her sobriety as well as what drugs she was using at any given time to protect her reputation, so they are unreliable sources.
Like we said… it’s messy!
Demi Lovato is currently “awake” and “stable.”
Here is the interesting article from The Blast:
Demi Lovato OD: Nurse Claimed Singer Was Doing Methamphetamine; Cops Took Pics of Drug Paraphernalia
Unfortunately, Demi Lovato had a major relapse in her sobriety, and when cops responded to her home after the singer was suffering from an apparent overdose they observed and documented evidence of illegal drug use.
Law enforcement sources tell The Blast responding LAPD officers identified drug paraphernalia, along with what they believed to be drug “remnants” strewn about Lovato’s Hollywood Hills home Tuesday morning after responding to the 911 call.
We’re told the officers were unable to I.D. the possible drug leftovers, nor were they sure if there was enough to be collected for analysis, so we’re told all evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia were photographed and documented by cops. Weighing into the officer’s decision was also the fact that they were responding to a call for medical aid, not a criminal act.
As we first reported, Demi was uncooperative with responding paramedics, and refused to name the drugs she took before falling unconscious.
However, sources connected to the situation tell us the incident report states that a nurse at the hospital told police Lovato was using methamphetamine in the time leading up to the incident. The manner in which she was allegedly using the substance was not revealed.
It had been erroneously reported that Lovato had overdosed on heroin, which our sources close to the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer had steadfastly denied all along.
The fact that Lovato may have been abusing methamphetamine doesn’t explain why the singer was “unconscious” when paramedics first arrived to her home. It’s also been reported she was administered a Narcan shot, which is used to counter the effects of an opioid overdose.
We’re told Demi is not in any legal trouble, and there is no criminal investigation related to the incident.
Late Tuesday, a rep for the singer said she is “awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support.”
