[Blind Gossip] This comedic TV series has been on the air for a long time and is a big hit. Although the entire ensemble cast is set to come back next season, one of its stars is getting restless.
He was yelling, “I don’t want to be ‘Frazier’, playing the same character for twenty years! That’s not why I became an actor! But how do I walk away from ALL. THAT. FUCKING. MONEY?”
He definitely likes the money but he feels trapped. He doesn’t want [the character he plays on the show] to be the only character people will ever know him by. I don’t think he will ever say that in public though, because he wouldn’t want to appear ungrateful.
This isn’t a situation where the complaints are part of a negotiating tactic to squeeze every last penny out of producers. He’s already signed his contract. He must be feeling some genuine frustration about playing the same role year after year.
However, it may be hard to feel a lot of sympathy for him. We did the math, and he is making over $10 million a year. Dang! That’s a pretty sweet trap!

Actor: Jim Parsons
TV Show: Big Bang Theory
Blind Gossip told you a year ago that, despite his huge salary, an actor was ready to walk away from his role on a top TV comedy.
And now he’s doing it!
After twelve years, actor Jim Parsons has decided not to return for another season of The Big Bang Theory. Since he is one of the three main characters on the show, producer Chuck Lorre has decided that the show will not go on without him and this will be BBT’s last season.
Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons just turned down $50M to do two more seasons. Yes, you read that right. He turned down FIFTY… MILLION… DOLLARS!
From The Telegraph:
Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons turned down $50m for two more seasons
This week it was announced that The Big Bang Theory will finish next year, according to a statement from the sitcom’s creators Warner Bros. TV and CBS.
However, now reports are emerging that the decision to end the juggernaut comedy was prompted by Jim Parsons, who earns a whopping near-$1 million per episode as theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper.
Parsons, who has won four Emmy awards, a Golden Globe and a voice role in spin-off show Young Sheldon, has reportedly tired of his record-breaking salary and decided to walk away from The Big Bang Theory after 12 series – and has ended the show in the process.
Entertainment Weekly first broke the news, reporting that: “Parsons was ready to say goodbye to the ensemble sitcom that made him a household name. Since there is no show without Dr. Sheldon Cooper, next spring’s 12th season finale of The Big Bang Theory will mark the end of the longest-running multi-camera series in TV history.”
There was some speculation that the show’s ending came after Warner Bros TV and CBS failed to negotiating with Cooper and his co-stars Kaley Cuoco, and Johnny Galecki over the $50 million a-piece it would cost the producers to keep them for two more series.
Either way, the final series of The Big Band Theory will begin in the US on Monday, September 24 and is expected to finish next May.
So Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco will also have to forgo $50M paychecks, and the rest of the cast will lose their big paychecks as well. No wonder everyone is crying!
Did you catch all the clues?
Telling you that it was a long-running comedic series with an ensemble cast and including the words “big”, “penny”, “math”, and “dang” should have led you right to The Big Bang Theory! Yes, it’s all so easy after the fact…
Congratulations to Sabrina325 for being first with the correct answer and to everyone who did a good job working those clues! Knock knock knock Penny!
Personally, we’re going to miss hearing Sheldon sing to Penny. So let’s all enjoy “Soft Kitty” one last time:
