[Blind Gossip] This reality couple owns a business. At least, that’s what they say. Something has gone wrong, though. Although the business was supposedly successful, someone who was conducting a transaction with the business conveyed the following.
We were told that it is under new ownership and that [the couple] were no longer the owners! They are still affiliated with it for marketing reasons, but the new owners have taken over and are doing things their way. They didn’t want to talk about exactly what happened.
The reality couple still talks about the business as if it is theirs, so we are not sure if they are in denial or if the loss of the business is a future story line.

Reality Couple: Joe and Melissa Gorga from Real Housewives of New Jersey (along with Teresa Giudice)
Business: Gorga’s Restaurant
Within 24 hours after we published this blind item last week, it was announced that Gorga’s Restaurant in New Jersey is closing!
The story is convoluted. As far as we could figure out, the Gorga’s original claims that they owned/started/managed/worked in the restaurant was a reality show story line.
The restaurant was actually owned/managed by someone else and the Gorgas simply agreed to put their name on the door and provide marketing support (e.g. personal appearances and social media posts) in exchange for some sort of monetary compensation.
That business relationship went south, and the Gorgas are now “furious.” Of course they are. They are reality stars!
It’s funny to see how their story has changed. One year ago, from People:
Teresa Giudice, Melissa and Joe Gorga Just Opened Up a Restaurant
Another day, another Real Housewives business venture.
Gorga’s Homemade Pasta & Pizza, owned and operated by RHONJ‘s Joe Gorga with help from his wife, Melissa Gorga, and sister, Teresa Giudice, is officially opening its doors to the public in East Hanover, New Jersey on Friday. The project is a tribute to Joe and Teresa’s mother, Antonia, who passed away in March.
“My mother loved to cook; it was like her drug,” Joe told PEOPLE at the private opening party on Thursday night. “I always told her I was gonna open up a restaurant for her. Then I got busy. While I signed a contract on this place we lost her. So this is for her.”
“Owned and operated.” “I signed a contract on this place.”
One year later, those claims disappeared. From Us Weekly:
Joe Gorga Is ‘Furious’ About New Jersey Restaurant Closing: ‘[He] Really Got Screwed’
Joe Gorga is not happy with his partners after news broke that their East Hanover, New Jersey, restaurant — Gorga’s Homemade Pasta & Pizza — is closing less than one year after it opened.
“Joe is furious. He feels duped,” a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. “They never made good on their end of the deal so Joe was done … This isn’t a good look and people don’t understand why they didn’t give Joe the money he promised him.”
The source continues, “Aside from anger, Joe isn’t worried — his name is not on the lease or legally tied to the restaurant. If they are in a pickle financially or otherwise, Joe isn’t tied to it. He just wants nothing to do with them or the restaurant after being burned.”
As previously reported, Us confirmed on Saturday, January 6, that Gorga and his sister Teresa Giudice’s Homemade Pasta & Pizza was closing. The restaurant is heavily featured on the current season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Gorga opened the eatery as a tribute to his and Giudice’s parents, Giancinto and Antonia, in May 2017. Their mother, who passed away in March, served as an inspiration behind the recipes for the restaurant, which was the setting of several conflicts throughout this season.
“They are still using Joe’s name and likeness even though he’s no longer part of the restaurant,” the source explained. “Things are going to get ugly.” The restaurant is also still answering the phone “Gorgas,” when customers call.
“His name is not on the lease or legally tied to the restaurant.” So… it wasn’t his restaurant after all. It was a big fugazy.
Well, at least they still have Melissa Gorga’s singing career to help them make the mortgage payments!
Congratulations to Lcondon for being first with the correct response!
