The actor and stand-up comedian spoke about his traumatising experience amid the allegations made against Harvey Weinstein.
More than 25 women have alleged that Weinstein harassed them on sets and auditions, including Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie.
Weinstein, 65, has also been accused of rape in a report from The New Yorker, allegations he has denied.
In a video for TMZ, Rob said that a now deceased director asked him to crawl on the floor in a hotel room when he was a young actor.
The 53-year-old said:
When I was a young actor, there was a gross director, and it happened to me. I was in a hotel room, I didn’t think it was going to be a weird situation. It was a famous director, it was before I was really famous.
The next thing I know, I’m in a room with this guy, he’s in a chair, he comes out in a bathrobe and he sits in this chair. He asks me to crawl on the ground and to crawl towards him.
This guy, he’s very famous, he’s passed away now. He was a pig. I got the hell out of there.
The Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo star added that he didn’t think to call the police and didn’t even tell his agent.
Saying that actors and actresses are particularly vulnerable to harassment, Rob continued: It’s rampant in the industry, there’s not one actress who doesn’t have a story.’
He later tweeted: ‘EVERY agency and EVERY studio will be having in-house sexual harassment discussions in the morning. Hopefully, every business & institution.’
Rob’s story comes after Terry Crews revealed he was sexually assaulted by a Hollywood executive.
