[Blind Gossip] A lot of people are trying to guess what is wrong with this singer and why he has been behaving so strangely.
Is he drunk? Is he stoned? Is he on meth?
Drinking isn’t his big problem. It’s the pills. Uppers (most recently Dexadrine) are why he’s not eating much, and he uses benzos because he can’t sleep. He needs to get off both but he can’t. Actually, even if he wanted to stop, he doesn’t have money for rehab.
Let’s hope he hits bottom before something really bad happens.

[Optional] What do you think is going to happen to him?
Singer: Aaron Carter
Aaron Carter is a mess.
There is a lot to tell you, so we will present a condensed version of what has been happening in the past few months.
His messiness includes losing an extreme amount of weight, using drugs, worrying about whether or not he has AIDS, behaving erratically, threatening to kill himself, getting arrested for a DUI, and having the police visit his home at least four times.
In our original blind item in July, Blind Gossip told you that Carter has a pill problem rather than a drinking problem.
In early September, Carter appeared on The Doctors, where he tested positive for benzodiazepine and hydrocodone. He tested negative for cocaine, meth, and HIV. He supposedly left the set as soon as they mentioned the word “rehab” to him.
Carter says that the pills helped him handle his stress and anxiety disorders. Carter also says that he takes pain medication for a jaw injury.
Carter says that he did not try to hide that he was in possession of marijuana when he was arrested for the DUI, and that he does not drink. He claims that police targeted him because he has tattoos, because he drives a white SUV, and because he is a celebrity. He says that he was veering all over the road because he had car trouble.
Carter announced that he is bisexual.
Carter is six feet tall. He thought he weighed 135-140 pounds, but found out that he actually only weighs 115 pounds. He claims that his extreme weight loss is the result of having a hiatal hernia and an eating disorder and that people bully men with eating disorders.
A trifecta of police visits in September and a mix of caller and police reports have since revealed that Aaron Carter has a large amount of prescription drugs in his home (especially pills), that he is now huffing cans of computer dusters, that he is slurring and does not make sense when he speaks, that he tried to buy a gun (but was rejected by the seller), and that he threatened to harm himself and others.
We know that is a LOT of symptoms and substances and overlapping stories, so it makes it hard to sort out if Carter is mentally ill, an addict, or both.
On Friday, Aaron Carter announced that he would be entering rehab. And releasing a single. He announced on Twitter Friday night that he would be “disappearing for a while to work on myself.” Then he kept tweeting and tweeting and tweeting.
Usually when people announce that they are going to rehab, they go. As of Sunday night, he was still liking tweets, so we are not sure if he has actually entered a rehab program yet. We do not know who will pay for his rehab program. We hope that he actually does go… and stays for the entire program.
We wish Aaron Carter well in his recovery.
