CDAN – This aging former list television actor hasn’t been on anything big in years. Back in the day he went from a hit drama straight into a hit comedy. Now he spends most of his days yelling obscenities at his neighbors dog. His neighbor is a b list actor who was the lead on a semi hit comedy. Our former a list actor is married to a former beauty queen who was on a hit television comedy.

I can do that too: This regular guest star of a popular network teem drama used to live near me. She was a sweet girl, but plays a b* on the show, cause that’s what the writer’s write for her. But she’s very sweet. Name that star.

Just checked…they do have a residences in New Orleans & Telluride, CO but Wiki says their primary residence is LA. I think these are right.

Wow, that’s a REALLY good guess. McRaney’s a kicka* actor, but a big reason he hasn’t worked in anything major recently is because he’s got a rep for being a first-class jerk. But, though Simon & Simon had a long run and performed solidly, and Major Dad ran four seasons, can they really be called hits, and was he ever really A-list?? And even if he was, at the height of the Designing Women tabloid turmoil, Delta was at least a whole celeb grade higher than him.
Yeah, him being a list would be a stretch. Then again, I don’t agree with a lot of the rankings BI items give. New 90210 actors being B list? Ah, no.

I thought about this, too. But what drama/comedy shows was he on? All I know is those tabloid-ish shows.
A side note on Gary Collins…he is WELL known to be a first-class JERK. I went to school in Jackson, Mississippi, where his wife is from. My apartment manager was very active in pageants and she had many stories about what an arrogant jacka* Collins is. I actually saw he and his wife with her mother in a restaurant once in Jackson. I was sitting where I was facing him, and the man had a glaring scowl on his face the ENTIRE time. You could tell he was a true p* of the first order.

McRaney makes sense. But all I could remember him in was the comedy Major Dad. IMDB reminds me that he was also in the “hit”(?) “drama”(?) Simon and Simon right before that. That ended in 1989 and Major Dad started the same year. So that fits. And he is married to a former beauty queen and actor and hasn’t done anything really big for a while, a few guest-starring roles and a recurring role on Jericho, which, since it was cancelled, can hardly be called big. Can’t seem to find any specific info about where he lives or who is his neighbor, however.
