[Blind Gossip] “She has zero talent but she thinks that she should be the star of the show.”
Almost every single member of the cast of Awful’s TV show has received tons of attention in the past year… except for Awful. This really bothered her. So when one of her costars made a controversial comment, she jumped on the chance to inject herself into the controversy. She expressed outrage and threatened to quit.
Is her outrage real? “Everybody here just rolled their eyes because we’ve all heard her use racist language before!”
Is she going to quit the show? “No way. Where else is she going to go? She is just an entitled brat with no talent and everybody knows it. All she’s doing is stirring up sh*t in the hopes of getting [her costar] fired because she thinks that would make her a bigger star. Yeah, she really is that awful.”
Awful: Kelly Osbourne
TV Show: The Fashion Police
Kelly Osbourne quit The Fashion Police on Friday.
Yes, she’s gone… but do you want to know what really happened behind the scenes?
Of course you do!
Kelly Osbourne “thought that she would move into a more prominent position after Joan Rivers’ death.” Instead, when Osbourne found out that they had hired comedian Kathy Griffin to be the star of the show- and for a much bigger salary than Kelly’s – “she became an nightmare to deal with.” She started “stirring up sh*t all the time in the hopes that producers would capitulate to get her to stop.”
Despite having been on the show for many years, Osbourne suddenly started complaining about the format and the writing. She argued with producers constantly. “The producers became really sorry that they had brought her back for this season.” She didn’t like that a lot of public attention was being lavished on Griffin’s hiring and Giuliana Rancic’s physical appearance. Remember the Maria Menounos red carpet debaucle? Osbourne hated that the public was begging Rancic to come back.
The dreadlocks controversy with Zendaya “over a scripted line, no less” was “just another excuse for her to jump in and stir up more sh*t.” Her faux anger about so-called racist remarks was especially infuriating given her own long history of shocking remarks. “Perhaps the years of substance abuse damaged Kelly’s ability to remember the vulgar words she has used to describe other people.”
“Kelly thought being the squeaky wheel would get her a bigger role and more money. She was wrong.” Being a jerk behind the scenes was one thing. But Osbourne made the fatal mistake of turning on the show and on her costars in a very public way. The producers decided that they had had enough. “The whole production team was sick of her, her big ego, and her bitchy attitude.” She had to go.
E! decided that they were going to fire her on Friday (the day that all publicists prefer when they want to announce bad news). However, Osbourne got wind of their plans… and quit an hour before she was to be fired!
The Osbourne family is very PR savvy, and if Kelly had really intended to make some sort of bold statement about racism by quitting, her publicist would have advised her to do so on a Monday to garner as much publicity as possible. Instead, “she quit [on a Friday] only to prevent the humiliation of being fired by E!”
The producers were a little disappointed that she beat them to the punch… but they are ultimately relieved that their Kelly Osbourne nightmare is now over and that they do not have to deal with her any more.
A simple announcement from E! sealed the deal:
Kelly Osbourne is departing E!s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers. Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Friday, March 30th at 9:00 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement.
The only line missing seems to be: “Don’t let the door hit you…”
Congratulations tofor being first with the correct response!
