Filing for Divorce

divorce 18SOLVED!

UPDATED!

[Blind Gossip] She will be filing for divorce in the next few weeks.

This reality star knew that her husband was of questionable moral character even before they married. However, she was willing to overlook that because she really wanted to have a husband and child/ren. She got what she wanted, but the husband is making her look bad now, so she is cutting him loose. So why is she still making public proclamations of support for him and their marriage while plotting behind his back? She wants to look like the “innocent” and “good” person when this is all over.

Reality Star:

Her Husband:

SOLVED!

Reality Star: Phaedra Parks of The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Her Husband: Apollo Nida

Sources: BlindGossip.com, The LA Times, Life & Style

Eight weeks ago we told you that this relationship was heading towards a divorce, and we now have confirmation. Apollo Nida went to prison and Phaedra Parks is filing for divorce.

Let’s start with prison. From The LA Times:

Apollo Nida of ‘RHOA’ goes ‘asunder’

after showing up late to prison

Apollo Nida, husband of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks, went to prison very early Thursday after missing his court-ordered arrival time the day before.

Nida, who pleaded guilty in May to identity theft and fraud, was to turn himself in to start his eight-year federal sentence no later than noon Wednesday.

“Well everyone, I have finally arrived at the penitentiary,” he said in a video posted on Instagram in the middle of the night. “I’m about to go asunder. Thank you for the support and prayer. Stay tuned, and you’ll hear from me shortly.”

Nida checked into a minimum-security facility in Lexington, Ky. His sentence also includes paying $2.3 million in restitution.

According to TMZ, Parks has been telling friends that Nida has basically blown off his family in the two months since he was sentenced, putting his energy into partying before prison.

“This situation has put a tremendous strain on Phaedra and her family, and she is working hard to bring back a sense of normalcy to everyone’s lives,” a rep for Parks told CNN on Wednesday.

The rep confirmed that “an incident” had occurred at the couple’s Atlanta home on Wednesday afternoon, but gave no details. A witness told CNN the two were arguing because she wouldn’t put money into his prison account.

It’s not Nida’s first stint behind bars. He served five years as part of an 18-year sentence for racketeering related to auto-title fraud. He and Parks married in 2009 shortly after he got out on probation.

“When I came out of prison the first time, I told myself that I never wanted to be in this situation again,” Nida told Forbes in a recent interview. “I had numerous talks with myself. I knew how to stay out of trouble but I lost focus. I didn’t stay true and I found myself quickly caught up in the same lifestyle I left six years prior.”

In a July radio interview, he expressed doubts about whether his marriage would survive, noting that Parks hadn’t attended his sentencing hearing.

Has anyone ever used the expression “I’m about to go asunder”? Anyone?

And did anyone think that Phaedra was going to stick with Apollo during his eight-year prison stretch or pay back his $2.3 million debt? Anyone?

That leads us to the divorce portion of our program. From Life & Style:

RHOA’ Star Phaedra Parks Plans to Divorce Husband

While He’s in Jail

Life & Style has exclusively learned that The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks plans to serve divorce papers to her jailbird husband, Apollo Nida, mere days after he began an eight-year prison sentence for bank and wire fraud at FMC Lexington prison in Kentucky.

“Phaedra’s starting the divorce process all on her own,” a Phaedra source reveals to Life & Style, on newsstands now. “She has drawn up papers herself.”

But Apollo has planned a preemptive strike of his own. “He wants to write a tell-all book while he’s in there,” an Apollo insider tells the mag. “He wants to reveal shocking secrets about what led him to prison — and about Phaedra and their relationship. Nothing will be off-limits!”

Phaedra wanted to look innocent coming out of all this, but it may be difficult for her to hide her own shady past if she cuts Nida loose and he rats her out as payback. At least they both look good in orange.

Congratulations to Amw715 for being first with the correct guess!

UPDATED!

Phaedra Parks’ rep made it official today. From The New York Post:

‘RHOA’ stars Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida to divorce

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Phaedra Parks

and Apollo Nida are calling it quits.

A rep for Parks, 40, confirmed to Page Six that the couple of five years are headed for divorce.

Parks “has retained an attorney with the intent of amicably ending her marriage,” her rep, Steve Honig, told E! News.

Nida, 35, turned himself in to jail on Sept. 10 to begin serving an eight-year sentence following conviction on several federal fraud charges. He was also ordered to pay $1.9 million in restitution for his crimes.

The father of two had been rushing to finish a tell-all book before starting his sentence.

In July, he told Atlanta’s B-100 radio that he doubted his marriage would survive his jail sentence.

“It’s hell on wheels,” said Nida. “My wife didn’t even f—-king show up for my sentencing,” he added. “I’m still salty about that. You know, whatever.”

He’s salty AND he’s about to go asunder AND his prison commissary account is empty. Awww. Poor racketeering Apollo!
