Rock Star’s Excuse

slash guns and roses[New York Post] Hollywood’s top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser was careful not to give up any secrets about her celebrity clients in her book, It Doesn’t Have To Be That Way: How To Divorce Without Destroying Your Family or Bankrupting Yourself.

One of her clients: The rock star who showed up at court four hours late with his disheveled ex-wife-to-be — and explained, “We were shagging in the back of her car” — was a bass player for a minor band, Wasser said, not Slash of Guns N’ Roses.

Pete Wentz, Fall Out Boy, Ashlee Simpson.

Although I think she was technically working for Ashlee.

Fall Out Boy isn’t really minor. Everyone knows who they are and they’re still playing sold out shows, so I’m thinking it’s a band that had a short rise to fame and fizzled out quickly.

Matter of opinion and perspective. I have three separate FOB tattoos, and even I would consider them minor when compared to the other people she has represented.

Rock star: Dexter Holland who plays bass as well as sings
    Band: Offspring
    Ex: Kristine Luna

The blind includes a clue that the rock star wasn’t Slash. Offspring released the album Smash.

  3. TheBinch says

Paul McCartney, Heather Mills and the Beatles. They had a hit or two way back when, but nobody’s heard from them in a while.

      • TheBinch says

No — dead serious. After “Let It Bleed” it was all downhill. Having the guitarist drown in a pool didn’t help. And Paul “Randy” McCartney was/is known for his wild side.

    • prleonard2 says

You’re thinking of the Rolling Stones. Brian Jones drowned in a pool. I don’t know where you got Paul “Randy” McCartney from, but I’ve never heard of that nickname for him. You’re thinking of the wrong band. The Beatles were not minor, no guitarists died (until 1980 and again in 2001), and they formally split in 1970.

The Beatles did not have a hit here or there either. They had 27 #1 hits, 37 top 10 hits, and 246 million ablums sold.

    Rock Star: Liam Gallagher

Band: Oasis (though I wouldn’t call Oasis a minor bad maybe Beady Eye)

    His Ex Wife: Patsy Kensit

  5. CanaryCry says

Hmmm … what about Rick Savage, the bassist of Def Leppard? Even if they’ve sold millions upon millions of albums around the planet, “normal” people aren’t even supposed to remember who the name of their lead singer is.

  6. whowassheilahgraham says

Rocker: Peter Wentz Ex: Ashlee Simpson

I’m changing my vote because he’s known for being a bass player.

  7. What Had Happened Was ... says

On second thought it might be a British musician. In that case, my guess is:

    Martin Gore
    Depeche Mode
    Suzanne Gore

ok shagging is a british term so. . . UK bands. . . the only one I can think that would be considered minor would be (I’m going US here not UK) is Bullet For My Valentine but I can’t find anything that says Jason James was/is married.
