Pretend Vegan

steak 3SOLVED!

[The Hollywood Reporter] L.A. Maitre D’s Reveal Diners’ Most Insane Special Requests!

“Hold the cheese,” “no oil,” “dressing on the side” … Nothing surprises L.A. restaurant staff in a town of finicky diners, except perhaps these requests that some maitre d’s shared with THR.

A celebrity asked to have a steak made and served in the private dining room so he could keep up the appearance of being a vegan.

“Vegan” Celebrity:

bill clinton veganSOLVED!

It’s Bill Clinton! Source: The Daily Caller

So, here’s the deal. President Bill Clinton is a vegan. Except when he is eating eggs. Or fish. Or meat.

From The Daily Caller:

Bill Clinton pretending to be a vegan

so he can talk about being a vegan

President Bill Clinton has been telling everyone he is a vegan since 2009, but it turns out Clinton’s a liar.

The former president, who has been enlisted to sell the nation on Obamacare, told reporters that he was joining his daughter, Chelsea, in an all vegan diet after he had had heart trouble. He was even named PETA’s person of the year in 2010.

But in a recent interview with AARP, Clinton said he ate salmon and omelets once a week.

“Once a week or so, [Clinton] will have a helping of organic salmon or an omelet made with omega-3-fortified eggs, to maintain iron, zinc and muscle mass,” wrote Joe Conason in the AARP magazine’s August/September 2013.

Clinton urged Americans to stop eating meat products as well, telling the interviewer that veganism is good for “your own well-being” and “your country.”

“The way we consume food and what we consume” are driving up health care costs to unaffordable levels.

“You have to make a conscious decision to change for your own well-being, and that of your family and your country,” he added.

But while Clinton pushes veganism for the masses, the former president “has been known to stray.” Especially when he is overseas.

“He had the filet mignon last time he was here, four months ago,” Javier Blazquez, the son of the owner of Casa Lucio in Madrid, told The New York Times in 2010. “The doctors tell him not to eat it, but he does anyway.”

When asked by Charlie Rose about her father’s diet in September 2012, Chelsea Clinton confirmed that her father had become a vegan.

Frankly, we are shocked – shocked! -that Bill Clinton would say one thing in public and do another in private to maintain a certain image. We certainly hope that this is the only thing that he has ever lied about.

Congratulations to Suzq , who was first with the correct answer!

Bill Clinton has finally admitted that he is not a vegan! Now he doesn’t have to do all that sneaking around and pretending that he is faithful to veganism. No more finger-wagging and declaring, “I did not eat that meat… filet mignon!”

Chow down, Bill! And then finish off your meal with a good cigar…

From The New York Post:

President Clinton strict vegan? On his doc’s advice he’s edged off just kale and spinach. Still eating healthy, it’s now limited amounts of fish and meat.

    Brad Pitt?

  • boyjack4

    Woody Harrelson?

    • Booboo1068

Second this one. He was a top guess in a previous blind about a supposedly vegetarian star who actually killed and roasted pigs! Sigh. Why do these people bother? If you now eat meat or always did then just say it. Yes, there will be back lash but it seems celebs who arevwilling to just put the truth out get more respect and gain fans then they lose. The unending attempts to hide with spins and smoke and mirrors is tedious and in the end don’t work…thanks to sites like these and social media. OK, venting over.

  • NOTellebee

Alec Baldwin? Just because I feel like he would do that.

  • gotu

Would that be Woody Harrelson when he get the munchies?

  • LeahLynn28

    A fake vegan…?That’s news to me…lol
He:Jared Leto?Although i’m not sure if he’s vegan or vegetarian…and he’s the only one i can think of right now.
    I think i’ll wait for more guesses…lol

  • Ivanna Funkalot

    Mike Tyson.

    • Booboo1068

Actually funny enough I believe Mike is sincere because he’s told truth about worse things during interviews like being addicted to cocaine (and NOT losing weight using it). But I could be wrong.

    • Boko

Mike Tyson is not fake. He’s a lot of other things, but not that.

  • SecondBest

I don’t even know, what men are vegan in hollywood?

  • ValleyOfTheGalls

Brad Pitt. Everything about this guy has seemed fake to me since he used Juliette Lewis to meet Hollywood bigwigs.

    • Booboo1068

Is it just me or dies he seem to come across these days more and more like an aging pot head who is trying to sound intellectual/ artsy? Anywho, he has and does do some good charity work and sounds like he was a good support for Angelina. Some of them can and have been accused of much worse.

      • jacksonian

Omgosh! I totally agree about him trying to sound intellectual/artsy. Both he and AJ sound totally FAKE to me. Especially her, trying to sound British by throwing in “lovely” in every sentance.

      • luvprue1

        They both sound totally fake.

      • ValleyOfTheGalls

He’s totally playing psudo-intellectual. Like one of the poseurs I see sitting in coffee shops around Harvard reading(being seen holding a copy of)the intellectual poseur’s bible, Atlas Shrugged. I’m sure there’s a pic somewhere with Pitt holding a copy. He also fancies himself an architect! That his ex and current wives are in a waiting game to the death in an attempt to marry last and outdo the other isn’t helping his new “Professor Pitt” character any.

  • nicky

Oh, whoever that is… poor person. If it’s come to the point where you can’t even admit that you eat meat then is there anything left to not be ashamed of?

  • suzq

    Bill Clinton

  • KatarinaJ

Joaquin Phoenix is a vegan but I say MIKE TYSON, only because he is a more recent one and given he has a spokesman for “Last Chance for Animals’ seems he’d have more to lose or look ad in this PR regard than say someone not as figurehead-y or high profile AS said vegan.

    • KatarinaJ

typos galore sorry! I meant he’d be more scrutinized if he were eating meat given he was a spokesman for LAST CHANCE FOR ANIMALS.

  • raslebol

Dicaprio? because according to a Cannes’chef ,he like his bloody meat

  • KatarinaJ

Another guess could be Jason Mraz. I don’t see Paul McCartney doing this and so many high profile outspoken vegans are WOMEN so that doesn’t work for ‘he.’
Is it awful to generalize that I can see Mike Tyson being a hypocrite and possibly indulging the no eating of animals or animal products as a PR move… given all his previous years of bad press?

  • slantrhyme

I googled a list of vegan celebrities and tried to figure out who might do something like this.

I’m going with Alec Baldwin. He just doesn’t look like he could live without steak.

Really I have no idea. What people eat is their own business.

  • CanaryCry

Strangely, I think this could be Jerry Seinfeld. He strikes me as being quite the quirky diva.

    • Booboo1068

You reminded me that years ago (around post Shoshana) he admitted in an interview to being VERY anal and a bit OCD so your comment fits perfectly!

  • carriebradshaw

    Russel Brand

    • carriebradshaw

Because the blind says “celebrity” and not “actor”, and RB is -according to wikipedias list of vegans- comedian, actor, columnist, singer, author, radio/television presenter.

  • ashthash

    Brad Pitt

  • Sumi

    Woody Harelson

  • lily is my puppy

  • curlyandclever

    My guess is Russell Brand

  • qchisme

could it be dax shepard? he was on a list of celebrity vegans and kristen bell is a well known vegan so maybe he doesn’t want her to know he likes a piece of steak from time to time.

i feel bad making this guess because i like him.

  • scumby

    Alec Baldwin?

  • gaelgorham

    Mike Tyson.

  • kookywooky

    Jared Leto? Morrisey? Moby?

  • GoneGirl

Hahahaha. I’m gonna guess Mike Tyson.

  • parry

    I’m gonna guess Alec Baldwin

  • regossip

Damon John, I’m quite suspicious of his always claiming to NOT eat meat

  • august

    Don’t have a clue.

  • caela94

    Paul Mccarthy

    • PaninaroChris

Not Paul. I had an ex who worked at a hotel that Paul stayed at. My ex wasn’t a fan at all either but he did say the McCartneys were exactly as they appear to the public nice people. Steaks were ordered by tour employees but well after the McCartneys went to bed so they wouldn’t find out. Again as I said before, I don’t see that changing after all these years.

  • creeping_thistle

Owen Wilson is vegan and, it pains me to say it, effed up enough to be able to do this.

    Owen Wilson?

  • JHntr113

    Tobey Maguire?

  • ktbell05

    Russell Brand

  • AuntieMama

    It’s Mike Tyson.

  • Cindy Louhoo

    I’m guessing Bill Clinton.

  • guinness

    I’m with Cindy!

  • KWDragon

The thing about really being vegan is that, after a long time, your body loses the ability to digest meat proteins. That would lead me to believe that this is a recent convert, who could eat a steak and not suffer any ill effects.

From all of the guesses, Mike Tyson sounds like a good bet here. Woody and some of the other gentlemen (even including Pres Clinton) have been vegan long enough that I doubt they could eat that steak without getting deathly ill.

    • jmk

I take this blind to mean that being vegan was just for show. So this wouldn’t be a deviation from their usual diet.

      • KWDragon

Agreed, jmk, which is why I stand by my comment. I think some of the celebs listed, including Woody and Bill, are truly vegan, so they would be deviating from their diet if they had a steak.

  • real313

Mike Tyson. It say celebrity not actor or actress.

  • amyinkamloops

I am going with Woody on this one.

  • kermit1969

    Neil Patrick Harris!

  • MissBitch

It’s NOT Woody Harrelson – my friend us the food stylist in his current project and has to make vegan food that looks like steak & stuff.
That said, I don’t really have a guess. My husband doesn’t eat red meat, but will try a bite of something from time to time if it’s high quality.

  • Nomad

    Bill Clinton.

The blind says celebrity, not necessarily Hollywood. I’m going with Bill Clinton, coz that’s definitely something he would do.

  • Charity

    Kelly Osbourne!!!

  • Whatzmyname

Cant blame him. I go bonkers if I dont have red meat in my system once in a while. I heard that Carrie Underwood’s husband eats steak when she is out of town…

  • Fergus

Salmon? That is one way to explain why he comes home with his breath smelling like fish.

  • La Llorona

*Eyeroll* Ace you are not even PRETENDING to have a political bias in this post, lmao! Which is fine, I’m an independent myself, but come on.

  • Fergus

“Hold the cheese,” “no oil,” “dressing on the side” Snap! That SO sounds like Bill! I’m sorry Monica. I believe everything now!

  • malkatz

In other words, he IS a vegan but allows himself a cheat day per week.

  • CanaryCry

Oh, dear … poor Chelsea. But if Bill stays happy & healthy otherwise, then great.

  • Whatzmyname

Cant blame him. Steak is delicious! Moo!

  • mugofmead111

I was kind of disappointed in Bill, but after reading this line it all makes sense:

“the former president “has been known to stray.” Especially when he is overseas.”

  • Fergus

So, how does Hilary explain her breath smelling like fish..?

  • aemish

Why lie? Nothing wrong with being a flexitarian.

  • Rofl my Wofl

It’s Bill Clinton. Is anybody surprised? Lying is like breathing to this guy.
