Anxiety And Shame About Her Bodily Functions

woman bathroom 4[The Daily Beast] In the corner office and the boardroom, women are ‘leaning in.’ But there’s one place where they’re still wracked with anxiety and shame. A look at the lengths we go to avoid getting caught in the stall.

A woman will go to great lengths to never get caught doing it, especially at work.

A popular national morning TV show host in her 40s—who, like most others interviewed in this story, asked to remain nameless to avoid embarrassment—said that she walks 10 minutes to another section of her midtown office building to do it, and still then only does it when no one in the hallway sees her en route.

Ok, so someone doesn’t wanna be caught poopin’. Peeps, everybody poops. Get over it.

So, we know it’s NY and that her show tapes in Midtown. Maybe at Rockafeller Center? So, Today? GMA? Kelly? Someone on the View, maybe.

Whoopie wouldn’t give a sh*t (hahaha) who caught her doin’ what we all do, and she’s over 40.
Elizabeth doesn’t strike me as caring, either, actually, and she’s younger than 40.

    I’m going with Kelly.

Seems like something Kelly Ripa would do. I don’t blame her though! I’m a guy and I don’t like to get caught doing it at work. Or I at least don’t like to be in the bathroom at the same time as coworkers!

  3. I Am PunkA says

This one cracks me up. My wife won’t do it when I am anywhere near her either. Preferably not at home, and definitely never in a public toilet.

    Host: Natalie Morales
    Show: Today Show

you have GOT to be kidding me. please tell me this isn’t about what I think it is about

    • ILoveLucy says

She doesn’t eat. So, she can’t be pooping, ever! She weighs 80 pounds! Girl does not eat.

  5. ValleyOfTheGalls says

I thought everyone did that. (going great distances away I mean. lol.)

  6. jlynhope says

No clue but that is just embarrassing. It’s horrifying that any one would be that humiliated by human functions.

    • jonesing says

A friend of mine almost got beat up for doing that at a high school graduation. Hey, it was a bathroom and it was the attending adults who made the ruckus. WTF? I also have experience people talking trash. Tough world out there.

I’ll guess Ms Ripa for this one.

  7. audreyyy says

im not sure who this is but its the dumbest thing ive ever heard, we all have to use the bathroom, its natural and shouldnt be embarrassing at all unless you do it loud lol

  8. javelina says

That’s crazy. I don’t give a flip who hears me. When I gotta go, I gotta go.

  9. LBoogie says

I go two floors down where no one knows me…

Sorry. I don’t need anyone hearing my farts are smelling the after fragrance….

    • jacksonian says

LOL. My colleagues and I used to go all the way to the basement bathroom at the hotel next door to our office. Not to pee but for the other situation….

    • saucykitty says

Yep. I used to work at an office full of women, and I couldn’t believe that with all that was going on, people used to pay attention to such things, but once I ascertained that there was indeed office gossip about poop, I tried to avoid going or only went when most people were in a meeting. (The whole office took up one building, so there was no “going to another floor” option.)

It wouldn’t be Whoopi… I guess I’d agree with Kelly Ripa.

  10. Syd Wishes says

I am just like blind subject. As was 3/4 of my sorority. As have been/are 3/4 of my female coworkers.

It’s not shame. It’s a desire for privacy.

    • I Am PunkA says

No, it’s shame. You want it private how much stink your female bod can generate.

For dudes, it is often a badge of honor. Funny how different the sexes are on this topic.

  11. slantrhyme says

    Hoda Kotb

Because Kathie Lee would so blab on-air about how loud Hoda’s farts are. If I had to work with an unmuzzled Kathie Lee, I would walk home to poop.

  12. sue says

Mika Brzezinski is the co-host of “Morning Joe” on MSNBC, whose network catch phrase/slogan is “Lean In.” Mika is going to be 46, tomorrow.

  13. thefantasticspazzomatic says

I’m sorry, men PULL OUT THEIR PENISES in public, in front of anyone ANYWHERE, to piss but women are AFRAID to pee in public restrooms? WTF? Woman shaming propaganda at its finest….

    • itsher says

Any man who pull out his penis in public in front of anyone will surely get into trouble. That’s why they go into a alley or tree or bush to take cover. This blind is about taking a crap, NOT urinating.. what woman is going to be ashamed of that?

  14. Stinky says

Poor Hoda. If I were she, I’d take a crap right in Kathie Lee’s lap,
just to give her something else to whine about for a while.

  15. UncleEntity says

I always do the same thing. I used to work in a big office building and I would always go onto a different floor to do a poo. It’s a private thing. I don’t want my immediate co-workers to know what and when I’m doing that.

  16. lottablue says

Everybody knows girls don’t poop. Or fart. So this is clearly a man who likes to dress like a woman. I’m going with Matt lauer.

  17. kermit1969 says

Kelly Ripa does not eat enough to produce a normal bowel movement. LOL

Let’s go with: Norah O’Donnell on CBS This Morning

  18. fluffygrrrl says

MIKA brzinski from Morning JOE on msnbc “lean in” is their motto

  19. bollywow says

whats more embarrassing is that theres a blind item about it, now everyone knows. I do this. i walk faaaaaar away from where i work to go. and i will wait till i get home preferably. whoever this is, i feel you and understand.
