Thanks for standing for equality! Love feels ever so much better than hate!
Me!!! I love to give him a personal thank you for supporting a great cause.
Thank you….♥
Kanye and Kim, as a couple.
Cory Booker?
good guess!!
Me! Yummy.
his boyfriend?
Mante TeO. The Ravens are looking at him, but want to know if he’s gay.
I want to thank him. More athletes should come out.
No. Most people in America don’t support normalizing homosexuality. That’s why until recently, gay marriage could not even pass in an election in California of all places. Many believe that immoral behavior breaks down a society, and history proves it. When the government started paying single minority women to have fatherless children, urban areas and ghettos started falling apart. Normalizing homosexuality just facilitates other societal break down of families even more. For example, there is a push by progressives to normalize pedophilia and as proof, Greece has listed pedophilia as a disability. Google other examples. Even the guy in charge of Gawker wrote an article that claiming pedophilia was just a “sexual orientation.” No thank you.
oh shut up…take your hate speak somewhere else.
I am Black and I refuse to be bullied by someone accusing of “hate” because my view on a major social issue is not the same as yours. I don’t hate anybody. Accusing someone of “hate” is a bully tactic meant to stop the argument and I will have none of it. Disagreeing is not hating, and when people like you throw that word about so casually, it dilutes the word and makes it useless and meaningless just like the word ‘racism’ has been reduced to a gratuitous insult.
gypjet, that is why you are completely wrong. You incorrectly assume gay is something you choose, while black is something you are. Gay is gay, and black is black. neither is a choice. therefore, there is no discussion. Gay is simply who a person is. It would be outragious in America today to deny a black person the vote, there would be no “discussion”. Likewise, it should be outragious to deny a gay person marriage.
Black, gay, female, native american, chinese, mexican…everyone is born who they are, they don’t choose it.
gypjet, I appreciate you speaking your mind. I would like to point out two things in the post that distract from your message. One, the stereotyping of Californians (…of all places). Second, that somehow the “ghettos” were not falling apart before the “government” started “paying” single minority women to have fatherless children.” I always thought other factors lead to the breakdown of society, but maybe immoral behavior such as war, homosexuality, trickle-down economics has its part in this whole deal.
Immoral behavior?
You don’t really know what you are talking about either , do you?
Actually, love is not immoral
Joh, you didn’t know? War lead to homosexuality, it hadn’t existed before then. My great-great-great-great grandfather said he heard of homosexuals but he had never seen one in person. Based on hearsay, he knew that the homosexual could only be found in it’s natural habitat; a scorching hot land with flames that burned for days, the homosexual male would speak in the native tongue with way too many Ssssssss & the female variety would play flag football. It wasn’t until the notion of a Civil War (What a silly reason for war! It’s clearly some gay propoganda!) that a magical ferry boat was discovered, ran on discoteque sweat, that would lead the homosexuals away from their mystical land (now known as Fire Island). To this day, war is declared whenever the word fabulous is said… damn, just nuked Australia.
Thank you for beginning today’s lesson for us TravoltasBeard. Also, seeing as you’re a hatemonger I don’t think you deserve to have such a great screenname unless you think that when people say that they actually want to sit on his face. That being said, there’s a good chance you’re also Kelly Preston.
that was satire joh, that was satire. I was sandwiching it between “war” and “Trickle-down economics” for satire, sarcasm and also verbal irony.
tmixinc, and finally, I see you have done an excellent job of continuing this satire, overstatement, sarcasm, verbal irony, misdirection, planned sequiter.
and finally, I prefer War Pig rather than hate monger. Thanks for taking me serious with your jest and jesting at my seriousness. Yet, you have failed to defend or defame (Fame! isn’t that fabulous) trickle-down econiomics as caused by the homosexuality of the Regan administration as composed by war veterans of Vietnam’s huge coming out party. and finally, also, I will gladly keep my grate screener as it keeps the bugs out of my veranda. Finally, maybe I am not Kelly Preston, maybe I am just some big, hairy, scary, bear with a salty taste for bad humour, Not Good Humor, kids, bad humour.
Please I feel you may be taking yourself too serious. Don’t fall too far off your moral high-ground. Please don’t slip or slide off your soapbox. Remember what was written in the dust before the adulteress. Oh and please go self-forniacte.
And finally, travoltas beard has NOTHING, NOTHING to do with anything other than John Travolta’s sweet, beautiful, cheek and neck covering facial hair.
Now can we please get back to judging celebrities and not each other. White Flag!
Oh and my guess is Matie teo for the blind.
That Mormon (allegedy the religion that was pro-polygamy someone said here) homosexual (allegedly not immoral!) football (concussion controversy allegedly) player who attends school at a catholic (allegedly in a big scandal because of paedophilia)university. (Sue me now Weinstein!!!!)
Joh, of course love can be immoral. Love that is sexualized between an adult and a child would be immoral. Love between a teacher who uses their position of authority over a student would be immoral.
TravoltasBeard, I apologize because I’m seeing the sarcasm now. Sorry, very sad & very touchy subject, to think that there are people who hate me because (who don’t know me) I’m gay & that’s the only trait they can see in me & the gay community.
I realize that you are trying to make a point about “deviant sexual behaviors” when you mention pedophilia in the same paragraph as homosexuality, but please keep in mind that they are two totally different things. While a person can be any sexual orientation and also a pedophile, not all homosexual or heterosexual people are pedophiles. That’s like claiming that all Christians are Catholics. You can be Christian and not belong to Catholicism; you can be gay and not a child molester. Pedophilia is not a consensual sexual act between two people. It is an act of sexual aggression that victimizes children. Homosexuality is an act of mutual sexual satisfaction between two consenting people. I don’t think they are comparable, and using one as an example when discussing the other is confusing and can unintentionally (or intentionally) imply that homosexuality is some sort of criminal or evil tendency that seeks to victimize others. I’m not sure you were necessarily trying to imply that, but I really felt it needed to be addressed in case that was not what you were trying to say. You are, of course, welcome to whatever opinions you hold. Just as I am welcome to disagree with your opinions.
That was an extremely well-thought-out reply. You so rarely see rational people online that I was quite impressed with this.
Sorry to disagree, but homosexuality and pedophilia are two deviant behaviors. Since there is no gay gene, it is a decision that makes people chose one or both. The brain has at least 4 different decision making processes which begin during infancy. This is also a fact. I am going with science on this one ant emotion.
Pedophilia has nothing to do with homosexuality. Also, same-sex marriage is not legal in Greece, so I’m confused about your argument that “normalizing homosexuality facilitates a societal breakdown”.
If this helps, womens liberation was the first step in trying to destroy the traditional family unit. Promoting androgny and then the “NEW NORMAL” (sound familiar?) family were subsequent steps. Womens liberation had NOTHING to do with actually giving two craps that women had rights – it was to get them out of the home, separate them from taking care of a family and making a strong family unit.
I see you’re a bit of a conspiracy theorist Wendy. Just to clarify, I don’t think there is anything wrong with homosexuality. I understand your deep attachment to the way the family unit of the 1800′s operated, but it is not how I desire to live. EVER.
Quite frankly, I don’t think the 1800′s were all that great. Slavery, invaders taking land from indigenous people (not just in the U.S., but around the world), women having to have a husband to have value (and having to obey her husband), and no toilets. Happy “liberated” woman here.
You can either be a conspiracy theorist or a coincidence theorist. Theres really no inbetween. I see you have chosen to be a coincidence theorist.
You can only operate on your views on things now. Had you been alive in the 1800s and gotten a glimpse into the 2000s, you might look on in absolute horror.
Actually, recent polls show that most Americans in fact DO support “normalizing homosexuality”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_opinion_of_same-sex_marriage_in_the_United_States
You are fighting a losing battle. Equality will win.
You realize, Nana, don’t you, that anyone can post anything on wikipedia? It’ not really a legitimate place to go if you are looking for facts.
Um. You can leave. Please take your bigoted opinions with you. Kthanks.
Gypjet, what an UGLY and utterly useless human being you are. Your hate and bigotry are atrocous. Being in a same sex
relationship is NOT immoral but I guess if you shove your nose that far up the wrong end of a bible you will believe anything.
Homosexuality and pedophelia have NOTHING to do with one another, *. Show me where in the constitution it shows anything
homosexuality and I’ll give you $100, otherwise I hope to never come across you in public or you will have a tongue lashing like you will never believe. Go back to your miserable life and leave the people who accept EVERYONE as a human being that DESERVES basic
human rights alone. Oops, was that mean?! Oh noes. Kisses!! xoxo
If you’re against hate, you’ll probably want to call it on the vicious name calling. Hate doesn’t mean “disagree,” it means harboring nasty feelings against others. By calling someone name after name after name, you are by definition someone who is full of hate.
Wow. So much to come back on you with, but, for starters, conflating homosexuality with pedophilia? Wow. Just wow.
Just to alleviate some of your concerns, homosexuality can never be “normalized” because it is a minority state, like being left handed. A norm is a statistical average, thus, your concern is fully unwarranted.
wut?
Wow. Just…wow. Homosexuality and pedophilia don’t even belong in the same sentence. Sex is an adult activity. Period. You are so twisted that you’re trying to justify your hate by dragging children into it. I can’t even feel sorry for you.
Did you leave your white hood at the dry cleaners?
There was a time, not too long ago in world history, that people were proud in their beliefs that people of Jewish ancestry or Armenian Ancestry or Ukranian ancestry were somehow inferior to people of European descent. There was a time, even closer in American History, when Americans across the country were proud to denounce their African American neighbors as somehow less then their own families.
Of course, history has repeatedly shown these proud bigots to be exactly what they are: ignorant, racist, uneducated backwaters of humanity.
And now the childred of those very same racists and bigots feel the need to once again scream from the mountaintops how proud they are to be racists and bigots, and au currant, homophobes. It’s a vicious cycle of stupidity that will someday make your descendants cringe.
I am Black so I resent you trying to call me a white racist because you and I differ on opinion. Sticking to principles and beliefs is not hate. Good luck to you.
Most people that see the media push to promote homosexuality arent homophobes.
Any messages promoted by the media should not be accepted at face value for they are only there to control your brain. We should all be looking behind the curtain at WHY the messages are coming at us, not just falling in line to whatever they say.
As I stated above, people don’t chose to be gay anymore than they chose to be white, or jewish, or female or black. The conservative religious movement’s attempt to paint gays as somehow different, as somehow chosing to be gay rather than simply being differnt like everyone else, is shockingly harmful to societal stability. It’s reprehensible, and immoral.
You’re black, I’m white. You could be gay, I could be gay. None of those things would be a choice.
I actually have no evidence that people are born gay or straight, and no one else does either.
Comparing homosexuality, a relationship between two consenting ADULTS,to pedophilia, the use of power and authority to abuse CHILDREN sexually, is apples and oranges. And actually, as of November 2012, 53% of Americans supported legalizing gay marriage. I’m not even going to touch your comment about single moms. I’m sure other people will take that on. Troll.
I love Ayanbadejo! From Baltimore, huge Ravens fan and he makes me proud!!!!
This is so full of wrong that I dont even know where to start. Opinion polls show that more Americans support gay marriage than oppose it, and the numbers are growing. THe most recent one, taken this month by CBS, shows that 54% of Americans support same-sex marriage while 39% oppose it.
I’m also a little aghast at your characterization of homosexuality as “immoral behaviour.” Would you care to defend this absurd proposition? ANd spare me the leviticus nonsense. Any REAL reasons?
I’ll assume that youve done a lot of research, too, to support your account of single parenthood being the ruin of urban areas. I mean, that sounds like a claim that it completely and totally substantiated by solid factual foundations. Or possibly, it’s just wrong, and an assumption that youre making based on your own (evident) biases and not on fact.
And even though you dont make the link directly, the fact that you see pedophilia as in any way related to homosexuality is offensive. If you want to talk about societal breakdown of families, you could talk about divorce. Maybe adultery. Talk about precarious employment and the effect that a low minimum wage has on families. But you go straight to pedophilia. It’s ignorant.
Please, if you have ANY factual basis for ANY single claim that youve made here, provide it. Otherwise, STFU and GTFO.
Cheers.
I normally don’t comment but your whole comment is made up with a bunch of generalizations, inaccurate information and just plain ignorant.
1. Not everyone that is against gay marriage is homophobic. One of the main reasons why gay marriage didn’t pass is because Christians believe the bible forbids it – this doesn’t mean every Christian is discriminatory or homophobic, they may just have different views on marriage.
2. The government has never paid for ‘single minority women to have fatherless children’. Yes there are single parents whose fathers are not involved, but there are also families that where both parents have a low income so and are on welfare. Ultimately the government does not pay for single women to have kids. Lastly not all of these women are from ‘minorities’. It is a class not race issue.
3. Normalizing homosexuality doesn’t facilitate societal breakdown – that is your opinion please don’t portray it as fact. Studies have shown that children that grow up in same sex households live as ‘normal’ a life as those that grow up in traditional households.
4. There is no push to normalize pedophilia. It seems as though some groups may call it a disability as a means to understand. Also one article in Gawker doesn’t signal a shift to accept pedophilia.
You should try to get your news from sources other than Fox News.
* off
Free speech. We’re all entitled in the US.. Even if it promotes inequality and hatred.
But, in the words of John Kerry…
(Non-news geeks should google it).
Just Wow!
Must be a troll – can’t imagine somebody could really be that proud about being so hateful and ignorant.
I am not a troll. The Black community does not support homosexual marriage for the most part, but I will not insult you like you have me simply for having a different and valid difference of opinion. Good luck to you.
gay rights are not a matter of opinion gypjet. Trust me, every white person in the south thought black rights were a matter of opinion. They were wrong.
You are a troll until you open your mind.
gypjet, here’s the thing. You are perfectly entitled to your viewpoints. I know you feel very strongly about this issue, or you wouldn’t have had the balls to post it here. However, your delivery sucked, and as a result, you only succeeded in offending and angering everybody. Sometimes, it’s better to keep your opinions to yourself and save them for a time when they won’t fall on deaf ears. It doesn’t mean you’re not sticking to your beliefs; it just means you’ve learned when and where to voice them.
Perhaps you were surprised that a black man came forward and supported gay rights, because, as far as you know, most of the black community, including yourself, does not support it. Why not just say that? Personally, I would have found that interesting and on-topic, and you would have still been voicing your opinion. It might have even led to a discussion about why you felt that way, which would have been the appropriate time to for you to say that other stuff… hopefully in a less offensive manner.
I reeeeeally hope you answer my questions, because I’m always curious about why people post things like this: What was your motivation for posting this on a gossip website? (gossip would also be considered “immoral behavior”, even by those who support gay rights, but I digress…) What were you hoping to accomplish by posting this here, which, based on other responses, appears to be intended as a positive item, not a platform for political debate?
First, let me break down for you the problems I see with your statements:
1) You are talking about three separate issues in one paragraph, using the last two issues as evidence to support your views about the first one: gay rights, government spending/welfare programs, and child abuse in Greece. Your statement lacks cohesion, it’s full of assumptions, and it just plain doesn’t make any sense.
*Are you saying that gay marriage is going to lead to more ghettos full of unwanted children? I GUARANTEE that gay marriage will not lead to that. On the contrary, it would probably improve things, because there would be more households who would like nothing more than to give those children a stable home free of drug and physical abuse, with people who actually want them around.
*What does Greece have to do with anything? They aren’t even sharing a continent with us, let alone a governmental or philosophical view. Are there progressives here in the US pushing for pedophilia? What does it even mean in Greece to label something a disability?
*Does labeling something a disability mean it has been normalized? If it were normal, it wouldn’t be considered a disability, right? Does it mean they are excused from punishment for molesting children? Just because something is labeled a disability doesn’t mean it excuses unacceptable behavior. Blindness is a disability. Do we allow blind people to drive cars?
*You are assuming that people who advocate gay rights will also support wasteful government spending and pedophilia. I support gay rights, but I think that the government welfare system needs reform and that pedophiles should be locked away forever. Nothing is going to change those views for me, either. I am offended that you would lump those of us who support gay rights in with those who supposedly support molestation.
*I am going to assume you are trying to make a slippery slope argument. That argument sorta falls apart, though, when your “evidence” is all unrelated. I challenge you to make a logical argument that can connect all three of those issues. Extra credit if you can do it without quoting the Bible.
2) You are mentioning a lot of outrageous stuff there without any proof that it’s true. Instead, you tell us to go looking ourselves for the evidence to understand whatever the heck you’re talking about. It’s sloppy and lazy, and it leads me to think you’re just spitting out random things others like you have said, like you’re “drinking the kool-aid.” Honestly, it makes you sound like one of those crazy conspiracy theorists.
3) This is the wrong place to be posting something like this if you want anybody to actually care about your opinion. I have no problem with your beliefs and your right to express them, but if I want to hear people argue about gay rights, I’ll turn on Fox News. All you’ve managed to do is annoy me by turning something lighthearted into a political debate. You’re pooping all over the party. I have a feeling most would agree with me about this. It wouldn’t be so bad if you had done a decent job presenting your case, but you didn’t. Of course, maybe you just wanted to stir the pot and get lots of attention and angry responses.
I am sorry for writing such a long response, because I know it was probably a waste of time. The chances of my getting through your thick skull are about as good as your chances of being able to change anybody’s mind about gay rights. You’re not the amazing morality messiah who is suddenly going to enlighten us all about the evils of homosexuality. NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR TIRED ARGUMENTS.
I don’t see how so called “normal” families have a monopoly on raising children with morals? There is literally no evidence to support that. Indecent, immoral human beings come from all backgrounds, just a good ones do. It is obtuse and downright moronic to think you have to be straight to keep the moral fabric of a society together.
Take a time machine back to the 1800s and check out childrens behavior. Now come up to the year 2013 and observe kids. You have got to be kidding me if you say you cant see a difference.
shame on wendy hood. again.
Wow. Got me there. Things sure we’re perfect in the 1800′s…
If you want to discuss strong family units, there ya go. Families today are absolute messes.
You have no idea what you are talking about, do you?
Don’t let that stop you tho!
Thanks, Gypsjet, for standing up to the bullies, who, ironically, accuse others of bullying. It’s sick that others would tell you to leave the site just because you are standing up for your convictions. I support you!
Telling someone that you find their thinking primitive is not bullying, you have no idea what you are talking about, now do you?
Thank you for not being a close minded bigot. Good luck to you.
Im sure they dont mean to be bullies. They are just brainwashed, like 99% of the population. Sad to watch it in action, though, repeating messages that are specifically designed to make us think a certain way.
I’m not brainwashed. I’m gay, I was born gay. Nobody would choose to be scrutinized & hated by people! However, I’m happy with who I am & would not change if it was an option (FYI: It’s not an option because it’s not a choice or a disease.) What you are spewing is pure hatred to a minority group, does that sound familiar? You are close minded, judgmental, disrespectful, uneducated, & disgusting! This is not my opinion of a whole group of people but just toward you disgusting human beings who get your rocks off by saying ridiculous things like this. I hope you DO NOT have a nice day, I hope you are treated like the scum that you are by every person you encounter. I can’t believe I am getting so angry at complete strangers but you’re awful garbage. You’ll respond with some sort of snotty comment to prove you’re above this but I will be completely immature & tell you to go f yourself.
You cannot be serious. Where in the world did you get the idea that minority women are paid to have fatherless children? If you are referring to welfare benefits and food stamps, then you should know that the largest recipients of such aid are WHITE because, hey, guess what?-there are more white people living in the United States! Less Fox News, more books and remedial math classes.
As for your idiotic comments on homosexuality, I would once again advise you to pick up some science textbooks. There has been homosexuality in living species since the beginning of time.
Excuse me – where are the statistics on welfare? I was taught that in school, too, how white people are the biggest recipients of welfare, but that has nothing to do with how many whites receive welfare as compared to how many whites dont. A percentage of race against its own race is what would be applicable to see who is really receiving more welfare comparatively. Also, I tend not to believe statistics as they are just tools to get you to think a certain way. Unless you are running the statistics yourself, you have no idea how they came to be.
racism is ugly wendy.
@wendy hood
here is a link to a Time Magazine article (granted it is from 2001, but still) that specifically addresses welfare benefits by race:
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,156084,00.html
I’m not trying to start anything, I just think that if people are going to be spouting off about ‘facts’ they should probably look something up first and make sure their ‘facts’ are accurate. Turns out, ajigglin’s facts are perfectly valid. I absolutely can not say the same for any of the ‘facts’ you, gypjet or jacksonian have been claiming.
I dont put much stock in “facts” that are fed to me. I can proudly say I am anti-fact. Pro-Truth, anti-fact. Facts are nothing but tools used to dumb us down while making us think we know more than the person next door.
Exactly what did I say in that comment that had anything to do with being racist? Ive met barely a racist in my lifetime – and the ones I have met were mostly minority. Racism implies using a position of power to thwart someone elses advancement based purely on race. Everyone I meet is prejudice, though, but that is a perfectly natural way to view the world and the things in it.
I want you to seriously reread what you posted and think real hard about what I am about to say. Somewhere out there a young teen struggling with their sexuality just read what you wrote. You just compared that kid to a pedophile and a welfare mother getting knocked up for a handout check. This is why teens are killing themselves.
Here’s a little personal history of mine I would like you think about. I am from a wealthy family who owns a massive historic home. In my father’s home, which is over 130 years old, there is a room on the third floor that was historically known as a disappointment room. A room which is built for the sole purpose of housing those born with mental issues or a form of retardation. It may just be a New England term if you have not heard of it. To think that some poor disabled child sat in that window ledge and watched the kids play outside knowing they were different kills me. We change our views over time. We grow and understand more. Homosexuality is a place where we as people need to grow. If we don’t we might as well be that kid watching the world from the window.
amen.
And teenage mothers used to be sent far away to homes to give birth to their children. Now we have shows that glorify teenage motherhood and daycare in public schools, both of which purely encourage kids to have kids.
PROGRESS!
Yes.
Let’s remember that there are real kids out there who feel shunned by that “disppointment room” called society.
Not even going to address the paying single women thesis, because it’s nonsense and everybody with a grain of social and political knowledge knows that. But I’d like to reply to your view on homosexuality.
1) You talk about how normalizing homosexuality causes families to break down. But let’s think about that for a moment.
Fact: We have historical documents from all societies and all eras ever since mankind came to be, proving that there have always been people defining themselves as homosexual. They exist and always have existed. They will not stop existing just because society doesn’t accept homosexuality.
Now, knowing that, let’s look at a society that considers homosexuality ABNORMAL: Homosexuals get punished or outcast. Families BREAK DOWN because some members can’t accept that other family members identify as gay. If the family remains looking intact, it’s mostly a superficial appearance, while deep down, the family is broken. Also, people enter fake marriages even though they identify as homosexual. Superficially their families look intact, but under the surface they aren’t. Often those families break down because they can’t take the pressure.
Now let’s look at a society that considers homosexuality NORMAL: Homosexuals don’t get punished or outcast, because their families love them and accept that they are different. Homosexual people also don’t need to enter fake marriages anymore in order to fit into societal norms, they can enter relationships with people they truly love and thus have a much bigger chance at sustaining the relationship in the long run. IF FAMILIES BREAK in this society, it’s most likely NOT because of homosexuality.
Hmm.
2) You also compared homosexuality to pedophilia, which, as an argument, just doesn’t hold up.
Pedophilia is 99% based on NON-CONSENSUAL sexual relations. Non-consensual meaning forced against another person’s will. That’s why pedophile relationships are a CRIME (going against article 5 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights).
Homosexuality, however, just like heterosexuality, normally happens between CONSENSUAL partners. (Unless somebody is raped, which makes it a crime regardless of the participants’ sexuality.) Homosexuality in itself is not a crime (at least not in the US or any other Western civilisation). In fact, it is also a HUMAN RIGHT as stated in articles 17 and 26 in the UN International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
Of course you can say both pedophilia and homosexuality are deviant behaviors. But, then again, 60 years ago, so were interracial relationships or an African American’s request to vote. Deviant behaviour simply means a behavior out of the respective society’s norm, not necessarily bad and certainly not infinitely valid.
3) You also mentioned that people choose to be gay or bi, because there is no gay gene. I’m not even going to say much about this other than ask, is there a straight gene? Because, if not, you basically just proved that, scientifically, people merely CHOOSE TO BE STRAIGHT as well.
4) You also mentioned in some reply: “I am Black and I refuse to be bullied by someone accusing of “hate” because my view on a major social issue is not the same as yours.”
No offense, but how does you being black have anything to do with the issue of homosexuality??? Also, apparently you seem to somehow connect it to the way people on here talk to you, although, before you mentioned it, nobody on here had the faintest idea what your skin color might be. And, I’m pretty sure nobody really cared, either. Or, are you suggesting that your skin color SHOULD make a difference in how we perceive your comments? Wouldn’t that be racist?
All in all, yeah, definitely don’t agree with what you said on the whole. But hey, you made me register on BlindGossip. First time post. Woohoo!
Family units dont break down because they have an outcast child.
Are you familiar with civil rights? Since you stated that you are black & refuse to be spoken to in that way I’m not sure that you are. I’m a gay man & you know what we have in common? Here’s a short list: 1. Just as you were born black, I was born a homosexual. 2. As an openly gay man, I also happen to be kind & respectful of all human beings, I would not stand idly by if I were witnessing blatant racism. I suspect you would turn a blind eye to someone being bullied for being gay/who they were born to be. 3. I’m 28 years old, I’ve been gay for 28 years, the only time I’ve thought an 8 year old was cute was when I was 8 years old. 4. You should really think out what you’re going to say before you say it because I don’t believe there was a cohesive thought/sentence in your comment. 5. Thank you. I respect when someone has an opinion, I especially enjoy it when their opinion is a combination of hatred & stupidity, they sort of cancel each other out thus making your opinion null & void. So whether you are black, white, Asian, Latino, etc. I don’t judge you. I suggest getting some mental help though. Next time you try to make a statement like this please realize it’s 2013, stating that you’re black & will not be disrespected is like saying I’m a tree & I refuse to be climbed on!
Im familiar with womens rights. Want to know the real reason that movement happened? “Nicholas Rockefeller told the late film producer Aaron Russo that there were two main reasons for ‘women’s lib’: 1) Before women’s lib the bankers couldn’t tax half the population 2) they were able to get the kids into school at an earlier age and indoctrinate them into accepting the state as their primary family.”
I didn’t ask that but thank you for googling “what is womans writes?” & then copying and pasting a response that has nothing to do with anything being discussed that I am 100 % sure you don’t understand. If you were actually familiar with women’s rights, you’d know that you are setting them back about thirty years right now. If I were you I would stop identifying with any particular portion of society- race or gender – because you’re kind of embarrassing them right now. No need to respond because I’m done giving you the “message board attention” you so desperately crave.
In reference to the blind item, Brendon is a really classy guy. He’s also extremely ballsy which is sad because this shouldn’t be considered a brave act in 2013, it should just be a reality, but thank you very much for stepping up & being a confident man.
ah yes, of course, because 2 old white dudes are clearly the authority on how and why the women’s liberation movement started. *rolls eyes*
I embarrass no one. I set no one back, for we are all in exactly the same place as we have always been. Still slaves. Still ruled by the same people that have ruled for thousands upon thousands of years, still happily being strung along by the concept of equality. Do you honestly think things are all as you were taught in school?
The breakdown of the traditional family unit is one of the powers that be’s greatest triumph. They are dividing and conquering us, one generation at a time. See how brainwashed people are? Telling you to get mental help, how awful. Im sure you have no issue with gays, lesbians, or transgenders whatsoever, its the media messages that are the real issue here.
If anyone finds themselves to share the same opinion as that being espoused by any media source, you are very much under mind control. Get out while theres still time!
An opinion is one thing, spending your entire day on a message board to spread hatred is not cool. I know I’m feeding into you right now but just like the bigots that come to equality rallies to spread hatred I’d have zero issue telling you all of this face to face, I doubt you’d be a rational human being who is capable of doing that though. Living a life with hatred for a whole group of people that you feel are inferior to you, yet I suspect you’ve never knowingly come into contact with; you’ve met a gay person, WE’RE EVERYWHERE! You know what else? Whatever we were doing for you (assuming you leave your home), whether it be putting your groceries in a bag, checking out your engine, waiting your table- we were good at it! You know what else? Just by you responding to my response, you have now caught the gay! It’s true, by the end of the day you’re going to be an unfunny Wanda Sykes. Hit me back when you taste the rainbow, GURL!!!
If you take a step back and read what Ive actually written, I have detailed none of my personal opinions on homosexuality as they are completely irrelevant. You are inserting a gigantic amount of assumptions. Hatred is an incredibly harmful emotion and only serves to come back on those that choose to hold onto it. I dont hate anyone because, at the end of the day, feeling hate hurts me the most. Encouraging people to see mass media messages for what they are is not a hateful act in itself.
I hold no illusions that equality exists – equality meaning those in elite positions will ever see ME (or any of us, really) as an equal. I do not speak about equality in legal terms – rights that need to be given or taken away or redirected. To me, thats just telling us we are born lacking and need to be given things to become whole. We are all born sovereign spiritual beings and no rights should ever need to be granted. We are not recognized as such, we do not accept ourselves as such. We wait around, sometimes floundering about thinking that we are making progress when we really arent. We are all still in the same positions that we have always been – sure, the game changes and the issues change here and there to keep us entertained and enchanted by the idea that one day, everything will be WAY better, but believe me. We are no further ahead in our fight for “rights” than we ever have been. That is the real problem.
To love thy neighbor as defined by God means to rebuke them with biblical knowledge. Anyone engaging in homosexual activity that does not stop and repent will go to hell. Period. God hates homosexuals. God said he hates workers of iniquity. Read Romans Chapter 9 followed by Romans 1. It specifically states God makes people gay to hate and destroy them. The Lord Christ teaches us to show God you love him you obey him. Any man who does not obey God and claims to love him is a liar. To support sin is also a hell sentence God said if you hate your neighbor (meaning fail to warn them they’re going to hell) you hate your God! Supporting gay marriage = 1 way ticket to hell.
gypjet, people who support homosexual marriage can never make their point without calling others of different opinion “haters”. The homosexual movement started with wanting equal rights and tolerance, but apparently that tolerance isn’t for everyone, just those with the same opinion.
Nobody cares if you’re black; you’re a moron and a bigot and should be banned from this site Imo!!
I’d like to thank everyone who its outspoken about equality
but i guess i’m not the BI so idk
The old bloodlines that actually rule the world laugh at the idea of equality. Its a concept thats been sold to the masses to placate us, to get us to fight amongst each other to somehow achieve it. We keep playing along, though, somehow thinking that EVENTUALLY we will all be EQUAL!!!!! Itll never happen.
Proud Hon here. Kudos to Brendon! And WTG Ravens
Hehehe….didn’t realize this was actually a blind. I get it now.
I’ll jump on the Manti Te’o bandwagon…after all, we need some fresh guys on defense.
Carl Lewis?
Manti Te’o
Still convinced the whole fake girlfriend thing was a cover up for his homosexuality since there’s never been an openly gay D1 athlete or professional football player to be openly gay while playing.
Manteo
I would! Thanks Brendon for speaking out! Peace!
Manti Te’o ?
Me! Thank you Brendon!
Good for you, Brendon! Thanks for what you do.
Thank you Brendan! Way to be!
Brendon! Yes! No hate! Speaking of no hate, just got breaking news the Obama admin will formally express it’s support for marriage equality in CA. ‘Bout time
Didn’t they do that about three months ago?
Gyp,
I’m a ‘hetero” woman who’s done a lot of marriage equality work. On a personal level over the years, anecdotally I’ve found that homophobes like you typically have hang-ups about sex in general (and sometimes are themselves closeted). I would encourage you to consider examining your personal views toward sexuality in general. Though I’m used to hearing this in unenlightened, unrealistic, and unhealthy perspective, it always makes me both mad and sad. Even though you’re utterly responsible for your behavior, I feel sorry for you.
You have to be kidding.
Google Roy Cohn and just about any anti-gay Republican Evangelical sex scandal.
The most anti-gay often are trying to prove how not gay they are.
Truth.
Didn’t you just reply about not bullying to Gyp’s comment above? Hello, hypocrite.
Brendon, in my eyes, you’re a ‘real man’….and a true grown-up. Bless you!
Me! Me, me, me, me, me! I wanna thank him! Thank you, Brendon. (((Hugs)))
I’m obviously not the blind here, but I want to thank him!
I am all about the love, ALL of the love. When everyone is equal, truly equal, the country will be a better place.
Because I am about the love, I won’t slam on the people above who disagree, but I would hope they soon see the positives in this situation. I wish love for them as well.
Best response of the day; I couldn’t agree more.
why are so few people actually making guesses??
i do not live in the US and have only heard of this wonderful sounding man today, so I have no idea…
This looks like Carl Lewis, so I’ll guess that.
Re: Gypjet: your comment shows a woeful lack of factual knowledge.
Same-sex marriage has been legalized in, of all places:
Connecticut,
Iowa,
Maine,
Maryland,
Massachusetts,
New Hampshire,
New York,
Vermont, and
Washington—as well as
the District of Columbia and
two Native American tribes
Kind of makes you think that Massachsetts, where the American war for independence from the British, legalized same-sex marriage.
And that New Hampshire, whose state motto is “Live Free of Die”, legalized it.
Or that Iowa, often referred to as the “American Heartland”, legalized it.
And California, of all places, almost certainly would have legalized it if not for a massive campaign against it that was funded by the Mormons, who have a history of legal polygamy. I didn’t notice you objecting to that as “immoral behavior breaking down a society”.
I wonder if you voted for Romney, who is not only Mormon but a devotee of L. Ron Hubbard’s book Battleship Earth, Hubbard being the leader of another homophobic cult which none the less gladly takes money from gays while threatening to expose their recorded “audits” or confessions.
The reality is that legalizing same-sex marriage enhances the stability of a society that values marriage as a way of encouraging commitment to families and spouses.
You make a leap of illogic by comparing homosexuality to pedophilia. Pedophiles are just as likely to be straight as gay. Many are married. Why didn’t straight marriage save them from being pedophiles? Can you answer that?
For that matter, how do you explain the widespread abuse of children by priests and bishops, to say nothing of teachers, Boy Scout leaders, camp counselors, etc.? Aren’t these the authority figures endorsed by the stabile society you respect?
Educate yourself so that you can start making sense and see the world as it is, not as your inaccurately informed comments reveal.
I’m sorry that your facts are wrong. I was referring to gay marriage passing a vote by the people. Most of the states you listed made gay marriage legal by legislative maneuvers, not the will of the people through a democratic voting process. Good luck to you.
that is just so sad. How do you think black people got the vote? or the right to marry? or the right to freedom for that matter? Do you really think people voted on it?????????
so, all four of the US states that went in favor marriage equality by popular vote on the ballots this past November don’t count then? Even though, ALL of the states with marriage equality initiatives on the ballots went in favor of same-sex marriage? 100%! Progress happens forwards. You can’t continue to use events from 4, 8, 12 years ago to back up your argument when current events disprove your thesis. And that’s without even getting into the specifics of Prop 8 and the special interest money that was pumped in from out of state to fund the campaign with scare tactics and lies. hrumph.
Hah. No one really has to be given the right to freedom in the first place. You are born a sovereign spiritual being – if the world you are born into doesnt treat you as such, well, perhaps the entire system needs an overhaul, not just little bandaids here and there. We allow ourselves to be enslaved on a daily basis, little labor units giving up almost half our paychecks to people that tell us what rights we should and should not have. What is freedom now, anyway? The right to choose our own cellphone provider?
Voting is completely and utterly meaningless, btw.
The push for gay marriage didnt start as a grass roots movement. It started, like almost all movements in recent past, with the news telling us about it. Then we, like lemmings, glommed onto it because thats just what we do now. We follow what we are told, barely thinking about it. We watch politicians fight and we think they are opposites, meanwhile they are usually related and attended the same fraternities or are part of the same secret society.
You think you see the world as it is? From your comments, you do not. Neither do most of the people commenting here.
MOST OF THE PEOPLE, meaning you’re in the minority on this topic. You keep saying you’re sorry for us, we don’t need you sorries, bigotry, pure hatred & ignorance. Blerg! I’d rather there be a law to punish people like you than gay marriage. Cuntinue to hide behind your computer screen or else you’re going to be the answer to the blind item, “What moron’s views made her the poster child for what’s wrong in this world? Hint: She’s one dumb b!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Edit to above: …war for independence from the British started.
Gypjet, are you really Maggie Gallagher?
You little minx.
This made me lol.
Thanks Brenden!!
I swore the question was: Who wants to thank Brendon?
Thank you Mr Ayanbadejo, for using your public presence for good.
Religious trolls, i.e., wendy hood and gypjet, on Blind Gossip, I guess no place is safe.
Why are queer people being blamed for the failings of straight people?
