[Blind Gossip] These two actors starred together on a television show that just wrapped its final season.
On screen, the two main characters loved and respected each other. Off screen… it was a parallel universe.
They could not stand each other! As soon as a scene concluded, they would not so much as speak or look each other in the eye.
We don’t have anything wild to report, like a screaming match or a physical fight. They just stayed away from each other. It was just a matter of two big egos clashing on a personal level. They each did their work their way, and when it came time for the cameras to roll, they put aside their personal differences, got into their characters, did their jobs, and went home. It’s actually quite a testament to their acting skills that the viewers saw great chemistry on screen.
It does provide some explanation, though, as to why the two of them rarely did appearances together, and never hung out together outside of work.

I think Tina and Alec are friendly. Remember when she went on a talk show and told everyone that she made him download Word with Friends so he would play it with her? She also wanted him to play Jack because she liked working with him on SNL. Tina and Tracey, however, apparently stopped speaking after his homophobic stand-up routine a while back.

I’ll also add good on them for being professionals, and good for John Noble, since he’s always seemed very friendly, affectionate even, with both of them. It can’t have been a rollicking good time to be working such long hours with people who don’t like each other all that much.

The only reason I’m not saying Josh Jackson is because he has a great relationship with John Noble (who has been robbed of an Emmy EVERY year he’s done the show!!) and is said to be a great guy (sigh). So I’m placing all the blame on Fauxlivia.
Well, I’m sure Josh can be a prick too when he wants to be, but I’ve heard talk that Anna wasn’t always easy to deal with either. Also, their personalities seem really different. She’s reserved and he’s hyper. They kept it off the screen, and that’s what matters in the end.

Agree with this guess. I saw an interview where several actors, including Joshua Jackson were talking about how to deal with differences on the set and when another actor described how he works with his co-star, Joshua said (paraphrasing), “Wow, that’s extremely healthy and not common.”

I think you’re right. A lot of people might think Josh Jackson and John Noble because the clue says “two actors”, but a) it could be meant in a gender-neutral way, b) Jackson and Noble have appeared together and seem to be real friends, c) the picture, if it’s a clue, shows a man and a woman.
Agreed, John Noble has always seemed to be on great terms with all of his co-stars.

Its for sure not them. Chuck ended over a year ago so this blind would be a bit old. Plus, Yvonne Strahovski went to Zachary Levi’s NERD HQ charity event at Comic Con. There are fan videos of them laughing together with their friends. If you watch the bloopers they look like they got along great and laughed a lot. The whole cast really. Maybe they don’t hang out in their day to day private lives but they are obviously decent friends.
The timing of this post (Fringe just finished airing their last episode) and the “parallel universe” hint lean towards Fringe. If you watch their bloopers they are hardly in one together and are never just seen having fun.

Ha… I do remember one interview they did together, for some morning TV show. They might have just been dragged from set from an early morning call, but it was soooooo awkward, because neither of them had much to say and they both looked like they desperately wanted to be anywhere but on camera with each other.
But at events, they never were seen together, never were photographed together, even in group photos they were never next to each other, rarely addressed each other.
That said: when doing group interviews they usually seemed happy to discuss the show and reasonably polite with each other while doing it. I also remember Josh saying some very complimentary things about her acting on a radio show once not too long ago.
LOL. The interview they did for the morning show, Anna said at the beginning that they had the start of the flu. They were answering questions put to them and had plenty to say. The questions put to them were awkward.
Most of the interviews done for Fringe all through the seasons seemed to be either individual ones or group ones. I have no idea why that was, but that seemed to be the way the show’s PR unit decided to do it. Josh complimented Anna on her acting quite a few times actually. They were known for addressing each other in interviews.

Maybe, but at a major appearance like that, pros ought to act like pros and leave any personal issues at the door. I think the BI is referring to a pattern of not appearing together. In contrast to how Noble and Jackson consistently gave the impression of great pals.
When the cast appeared at upfronts, comic con and other press things, it was mostly done as a group or at upfronts, at least John, Anna and John, or whoever was available. The show had three leads and three supporting formost of the time and the show’s PR unit always portrayed the show as such.

30 Rock just finished filiming recently, and the last episode airs this week. There were rumors that after Tracy Jordan’s racist remarks this past year, Tina Fey forced him to apologize, then they couldn’t stand each other. There chemistry on-camera definitely doesn’t show any of that, though!
In recent interviews Tina and Tracy have been praising each other and on LNJF recently they were hugging and cuddling kind of…so I don’t think it’s them.

It’s Joshua Jackson and Anna Torv from Fringe. Many fans knew about this for the last couple years, but it wasn’t gossiped about. But it was pretty obvious (well, to anyone who had eyes, that is) that they weren’t buddies. It was quite noticeable that they chose not to hang out with each other at public events. Seems like a Gillian Anderson-David Duchovny type thing.
It is definitely Torv and Jackson from Fringe.. Parallel Universe clue. This was one of my favorite shows, and this was not a well-guarded secret at all.
All fans knew about this. Anna was once the focus of the show and it shifted to Joshua Jackson and John Noble’s relationship. Jackson fought hard for this shift, as he believed he was the star from all of the fan worship for his character, Peter.
Jackson did all of his interviews without Torv and chose to only discuss his development and his relationship with Noble’s character, Walter.
Die-hard Olivia (Torv) fans were always up in arms about the shift in focus and story line. Recently, there were some episodes where she did not even merit 5 minutes in the story, if at all.
at least the shift happened in season 5. Olivia will always be my favorite character
Patsymine, you must be watching a different version of Fringe then, because Olivia was the main focus for most of the first four seasons and then spread evenly between Peter, Olivia and Walter over the last 13 eps in season 5.
The writers/producers write the story they want to write and to think that the actors have the clout to change the focus to what they want is laughable. Walter probably had a bigger role than initially, due to the wonderful acting and portrayal of Walter by John Noble. Again that’s a choice the producers made and nothing to do with Josh Jackson. Josh loved the P/W relationship, so what, it’s not going to change what the producers have in store or what they want to do storywise. It’s the writers/producers show and their the ones that make the decisions because it’s their show. The actors are there to bring that story to life, it’s not the actors show.
Josh Jackson talked about the P/W relationship alot but he also talked many times extensively about the P/O relationship and also what Olivia was going through. You only have to read his many interviews to see that. He has always talked about the show as being about a family, Walter Olivia and Peter, and never once about it only being about just his character.
The show seemed to do alot of their interviews individually and occasionally group ones, but mainly individual. Anna did most of her interviews over the cause of the show by herself as well. It’s well documented that she preferred altOlivia and the the altuniverse to Olivia, and she was always happy to bring them up when she could. There’s nothing wrong with that either. So, they both talked about what their favourite thing was on the show. I guess Anna can do that, but Josh can’t.
